I mean it makes sense considering how time travel is a big aspect in sonic cd and how metal sonic practically came out of nowhere and robotnik shouldn’t be able to even come close to creating a robot like metal sonic hell silver sonic and mecha sonic don’t even come close to the power of metal sonic and they came out AFTER sonic cd
Actually, the one flaw of this video is that Sonic CD, according to an interview, and evidence within the games (comparing Sonic's robot doubles), takes place AFTER S3&K. Don't quote me on that, but it makes so much sense, that it became my headcanon.

I miss this level of darker storytelling for Sonic the hedgehog. I hear words being thrown that it was “the dark ages”, but I just look at it as something in the same prospect as DC comics. Darker isn’t always worse. There’s uplifting moments. But the glory of old Sonic games was the intense stakes left in everything.

This was a great story! I wish Robotnik was a serious villain like this. His schemes are way too goofy today lol. Also, this is how I imagined metal’s origins. It would be much cooler if Metal was actually a defeated Sonic roboticized. Too bad sega didn’t think of it at the time.
In sonic heroes metal sonic was supposed too team with ray and mighty and slowly remember that he is sonic but there were no main villain and the story was just too dark so they made metal the villain and didn't find someone else to team with mighty and ray

@@youseftheh4869 U do know in the games the emeralds are stated to have infinite power right? It's both that do have that actually, but the master emerald not only CONTROLS the chaos emeralds( emphasis on the word master) but is also stronger than them.

I think he probably turned into Dark Sonic at some point... But, I think Robotnik already knew about his Dark form and tried not to make him unleash it, whilst making him feel more pain... As you said, it took Robotnik a LOT of time to plan this, and it won't be surprising if the execution of the plan doesn't come with an inch of failure...
Here's a little something I composed for when Sonic finds out who Metal Sonic really is, based on the Savitar reveal from Season Three of The Flash. Enjoy! Sonic: "I know who you really are." I... am the real Sonic the Hedgehog."
Knuckles: You killed Sonic. Metal Sonic: No, i am Sonic. Knuckles: No. Impossible. Metal Sonic: Join me so we can kill Eggman for turning me into this monster and killing our friends. Knuckles: Yes. Time to break the egg.
If sonic had been near the emeralds while in his state of mind his rage would of forced an uncontrollable Dark Form in which sonic would rip eggman to shreds, and then...well I don’t know what sonic would do at that point

Nah, he lured him onto the center of the room, where he traped him in an electric chain just like in Unleashed. Then he simply locked him up until Tails and the others bailed him out for the second time, and then we end it with the line *"I HATE THAT HEDGEHOOOOOOG!!!"*
My problem with people using Metal Overlord's dialogue to support the theory that he is a robotocized Sonic, is that it's also very cherry picked. In the same game he specifically states that he was created for the sole purpose of destroying Sonic. That doesn't sound like a Sonic that turned robot to me, but rather that Metal was simply Eggman's magnum opus (and it's not as if he didn't have experience making robot Sonics beforehand). The OVA even gives a plausible explanation for why Metal is so close to Sonic, so it's not as if there isn't any reason the two are so closely connected.
If I'm not mistaken, I think Metal might be one of the first if not the first robot Sonic Eggman made. Since CD, to my understanding, canonically takes place before sonic 2, Metal actually predates Silver and Mecha Sonic, as well as obviously all other copies of Sonic and his friends made after the classics. My personal belief is that Metal does indeed come from the future. Either being a roboticized bad future Sonic or being sent back in time by a future eggman who'd finally perfected Metal's design and sent him to the past in order to help the past Eggman. That would explain why Metal is the "First" robo-sonic, but manages to be better than literally every other robot Eggman's ever made.
Doesn't always mean from the ground up. Yeah Robotnik created him by roboticizing Sonic, the entire point of roboticizing him not killing him so that he can be sent back in time to kill sonic. So the line would still track in that scenario. it can even be read that metal Sonic created this, his Metal overlord body, for the sole purpose of destroying Sonic. Although that tracks not as well.
And then there's my version where Eggman makes a full on clone of Sonic who could easily impersonate the real one and break down all the heroes friendships, but then he realises he forgot to make a robot the past few weeks.
I guess the only ones left in the future timeline would be Knuckles (since he would protect the Master Emerald no matter what), Shadow (if Robotnik decides to wake him), Silver (if he comes back from the future, although I don't know how this future and Silver's future would collide), Blaze (she would still be the guardian of the Sol Emeralds), and Omega and Gamma, if Robotnik decides to make them. If the rest of the world is robotisized, the rest of Sonic's friends would be dead, namely Cream, Big, Rouge, Charmy, Vector, Espio and the rest of the inhabitants of Sonic's world.
What happened is, from my point of view: Since this version of eggman/robotnik roboticized the whole planet, he inadvertedley killed all plant's, ergo: no more oxygen, ergo: everyone dies, the end.
Silver manages to survive (due to his telekenetic abilities) and leads the last remnants of the freedom fighters with blaze and future knuckles. They occasionally fight future shadow (who robotnik decided to wake) and metal sonic. But they still cant manage to defeat robotniks forces. (like in dbz with trunks, gohan and the androids) But eventually silver and his team manage to use the chaos emeralds to go back in time, where they team up with modern sonic, classic sonic, tails, shadow and knuckles to defeat his future counterparts.
This storytelling is amazing. It has a extremely dark tone , and I love dark sonic games so please get sega to hire you , I would love this story to be cannon. Great job !
That would make Metal in Sonic heroes make even more sense cause he would have wanted revenge on Robotnik and destroy his world like he did his and show his superiority as the 'true' Sonic I would love to see Metal Sonic raise his hand to Robotnik in a metallic bloody rage and become something like a twisted successor to Robotnik after murdering him as the main villain just to add to sith vibes of this fan theory.

WOW!! you did an amazing job in this video by understanding the capabilities of robotnik and what a man with that IQ can do i liked the depth of the story and the way it took, you even gave metal sonic a proper story and some personality i would love to see a fan game based on this story (but not that dark) or even a spin-off of the movie

@@hoshiryu CD takes place between 2, but keep in mind THIS story doesnt I'd say CD took place over days, THIS takes place over MONTHS, and tbh, 2 happened not long after 1. With how much time that passes in this story, no DOUBT the 7th popped up eventually, not to mention sonic should still have the other 6, as each individual emerald has UNLIMITED power, he would eventually learn to tap into it, and find the 7th chaos emerald too.
14:19 The fact that he was thinking about how he failed to save all those creatures instead of the fact that he was quite literally at Robotnik’s mercy, on the brink of death, shows just how much he cares. He wasn’t thinking about himself, he was thinking about the creatures who Robotnik was endlessly slaughtering.
You haven't any idea how I hold your story to heart and am striving to tell stories of characters I love in a different light which could be held true. Thank you for this incredible piece of story telling.

I've seen this theory before but It's not true tho, Eggman stated that Metal Sonic It's his greatest creation tho There's a roboticized version of Sonic in the archie comics called Mecha Sonic

As much as we love the interesting and unique take of your story. It was a bit unnecessarily dark to us. Which brings up a great question. Does a story need to be super dark and edgy for it to counted as "good"? What do you think fellow scholars?

That story was epic and I was hooked. I got my Sega CD and sonic CD back in 93 and still have it to this day and metsl.sonic was always an intriguing character and that game.itself. became.my favorite In the classic franchise. Thank you scholar for.all the work.do and you made..my inner 10 yr old self remember how much this game.meant to me on that Christmas

Woah, well that explains mecha sonic from SMBZ, it’s kinda like the madness went to his head, lashing out and killing Robotnik, but in his hungry, murderous rampage, he in the process killed his friends.

I can go darker. What if sonic was in fact aware but only a little of every atrocity he has done as Metal Sonic but his spirit and the Robotised body was like a prisoner in a heavily guarded cell. He can see everything, all his actions, every drop of blood and every dead body left to rot. Living as a silent prisoner broken down, in the deepest depths of darkness in one’s mind almost forever
Damn saiyan you made one hell of a story really gave me the star wras revenge of the sith vibe i really want to see this kind of stories in sonic games because a lot of sonic characters nowdays have been flanderized and turned to the joke and this type of stories actually gives you opportunity to do a lot of interesting things with this characters . Props to you for this story, which is my headcanon now, and Robotnik channeling his inner Palpatine. Although considering the Death Egg is one mustache away from a lawsuit with Lucasfilm, that's to be expected. Even moreso considering this scenario would make Metal something akin to Darth Vader (I totally heard the song that played when the operating table with Vader on it rising when Robotnik first laid eyes on Metal.) Robotnik: It seems in your anger, you killed her. Sonic: NNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
This video really takes the quote "See me as I am. No longer afraid of anything!" that Metal Sonic says during the Metal Overlord fight in Sonic Heroes to a whole new context.
