"Standing Next To You" is the first song Jungkook never needed to do a second recording for, it took him 4 hours to record it, "I usually record very fast but it took 4 hours" how fast is fast? god.

This is my absolute favourite of JK's. It shows his incredible ability in both his vocals and his dance. And it just feels like him. A suave grown up Jungkook showing what his many, many years of hard work have culminated in. Just fire 🔥

As far as the whole "mature" thing, I agree with you but also feel that his content was going to evolve because he's older and has more life experiences to flavor his performances. I think it's only natural that he is making these choices. PLUS I give him lots of credit for being the DGAF king- he does it because he likes it, regardless of cultural standards (bc is def a departure from BTS and his previous works). I love the choices they made with this song.. ticked all the boxes for me. You’re right when they dropped it like that it made it different and opened up well to other parts of the song. This is my favorite reaction so far. And I agree, we should all be proud of him. I think back to maybe 3-4 years ago when he was so concerned about what his future would look like. He felt he didn't have the drive or the talent to make it on his own. And now our Golden Maknae has not just lived up to his name but blown the competition out of the water. This song is perfection. Perfect vocals, perfect visuals, perfect choreography and I love the homage to MJ. Absolutely the best song I've heard this year.

I've commented this in other earlier channel reactions, but the sound & vibe is all too familiar to me as well, as I lived through the 1970's disco era as a young kid, so this is JK's homage to those funk-soul artists of yesteryear, such as CHIC, Jackson 5 (Michael Jackson obviously), Diana Ross, Sly, EWF, Kool & the Gang, Ashford+Simpson, & many many others of those days. Sure, The Weeknd too has this type of sound, but of course we know where he got that music style from. SNTY does sound a lot like one song but I can't remember the title & the band, with the orchestral backing, funk bass line, flutey synth pad & the brass section. Maybe it was a CHIC song, like "Good Times", I would have to search for it. This is one of those songs that brings back memories of the lighted discoteque dance floor, the spinning glitter ball & rollerskating. Pretty much every part of the song does evoke the 1970's for me, & maybe some early 80's. My idea is that someone should modify their ARMY bomb (I don't have one) into a spinning lighted glitter disco ball to bring to a concert when one day JK sings this on that stage with BTS or as solo. You heard that glitter bomb baton idea here first folks! Also really nice to see Brian Puspos again as part of the background dancers. Now, speaking of dancing, if one day BTS wants to one-up themselves in the choreography department, then their next potential evolution is to start learning ballroom dancing, meaning to learn the older styles of dancing as a couple, with a lot of hand-holding, as this also relates to disco, but obviously they would need female dance partners. I think JHope has done some couples dancing before. Anyway, nice reaction & analysis again. 11/03/23

HI John. I love that JK's name was on the wall of the entrance ... I also loved that the dance moves were so synchronized with the beat. I wonder what people imagined the video would be like if they listened to the song before seeing this video. The next I can not even imagine is how this is going to be live on the stage. For me, this song is very personal because so many backstabbed me lately and the lyrics are like a reassurance that I could be standing next to the people who want to walk with me. For others, it might be a love song...

This is my favourite of his tracks. I love it so much. It feels like the 80's with the horns, the groove, the dance, it's so good. I hope this does the best in terms of streams etc, because it's absolutely brilliant. And it definitely has a nicer message than 3D or Seven. I also really love Closer To You, and Hate You. The choreography for this is insanely good. It's like a Michael Jackson video, only better because it's JK. And his voice is insanely good. Just when you think he can't improve his vocals any more because he's already so good, he gets even better.

From seven, he's whole purpose is to tell us he's grown up already - in terms of mindset, his body, vocal, dance style EVERYTHING XD this song is totally for dance performance. JK loves the choreographer Brian Puspo, who joined him for this, seven and 3D! so not just musically he got to work with music producers he loves, admires so as choreographer/dancers haha the moment you remember it's shannon, gold XD! if it didn't come to you that moment, it's gonna bother you the whole day

Music is subjective, but if you don't know the past.....I love Kings of Leon but they are 2000's and it is such a different style of music. This song is a 70's to 80's funk disco track, so it follows more of that pattern. Go listen to This Place Hotel by the Jackson 5. And I am sure Armies over a certain age don't find the composition strange. It is very MJ. It's meant for dancing. So basically I am saying you are young 🤣🤣🤣🤣 So the backing sounds like Regulate by Warren G but it really sounds like the sample in that song which is Michael McDonald's I Keep Forgetting. This song is fire. His vocals and the dancing is INSANE.
