There have been times watching a performance by Dimash that I am convinced he has mastered the ability to inhale while he sings. People often say to breathe in through the nose and out through the mouth. But I don't think they mean at the same time.

Enjoyable reaction, but as others have pointed out, unfortunately, you skipped the amazing ending. This is quickly becoming one if not the favorite Dimash performance for me and it invokes a very visceral response in me, just as "Ave Maria" did. I believe this actually was a live performance in that Dimash sang "Ikanaide" live for the Tokyo Jazz Festival Live stream in January of 2021 as it was being recorded. As someone else pointed out, he performed Ikanaide from his studio in Beijing where he was going through a month of quarantine before taking part in the “Shine Super Brothers” TV show. According to several native Japanese speakers, Dimash's pronunciation of the lyrics is nearly flawless. One native speaker, who gave a detailed analysis, stated that he is "expressing Japanese more (better) than Japanese" and that he does not only perfectly pronounce Japanese but "expresses Japanese…with Japanese emotion.". Goro Matsui, who wrote the lyrics to "Ikanaide," posted on his Twitter account that he has never heard a foreigner sing in Japanese in such a beautiful way. Tamaki Kōji composed the music and performed the song in 1989. "Ikanaide" became the title song for the Chinese-Japanese TV series "Farewell, Li Xianglan," filmed that year. It is the story of Yoshiko Yamaguchi, a beloved Chinese-born Japanese actress and singer during World War II who hid her Japanese heritage under the name Li XIanglan. Following the war, when the Chinese became aware of her Japanese heritage, she was accused of being a spy and sentenced to death by firing squad for treason and collaboration with the Japanese; she had been involved in the production of Japanese propaganda films. Thanks to the intervention of influential friends, she was cleared of all charges but urged to leave China or risk being lynched. She resettled in Japan, where she would continue to enjoy a successful acting career. In the 1950s, she moved her acting career to Hollywood and Broadway under the name Shirley Yamaguchi but returned to Japan in 1959, retiring from acting. Dimash chose the 2004 Taiwanese version arranged by Terry Lin with Mandarin lyrics for his performance at the 2017 "I Am A Singer" competition but gave it his own interpretation and titled it "Autumn Strong." This song went on to earn Dimash the "Best Foreign Singer" award during the Golden Melody Award in Hong Kong. I find this song makes me cry but I suspect that is due to all the losses in the past few years as much as Dimash. I like the way Dimash throws his whole body into this song, as if the fibre of every muscle was involved in the creation of perfect notes. I don't know who sent you that link but if that video did indeed cut off there they did you a huge disservice by not sending you to Dimash's own channel. Both vocal and acting coaches have explained that what Dimash does at the very end although it may seem simple, is actually the most impressive part of the song.

Koji Tamaki compuso la música e interpretó ésta canción, Goro Matsui compuso la letra. Ésta es la canción original. Autumn Strong es una versión China con la misma música pero distinta letra. Es una canción de amor y dolor. Ikanaide significa "No te vayas", "Por favor no te vayas" Por favor no te marches" Goro Matsui dijo que había escuchado a muchos extranjeros cantar Ikanaide en su idioma nativo pero que era la primera vez que escuchaba a un extranjero cantarlo tan bien en japonés. You called it John. The fragility portrayed in those early notes. So beautiful. I have heard pros nerd out over that mic too saying it is amazing he’s not using a screen on it as it is so sensitive and notice the way he backs away from it when he gets powerful . It looks natural but he is a master with mic technique. I have also heard Japanese people say that his pronunciation is flawless. Amazing for a non-speaker. It goes to the level of respect he gives to every song in every language. I highly recommend his Samaltau performance for Tokyo Jazz festival. Sung in his native Kazakh from his home studio. And wait till you see “how” he sings it

OMG I can't believe you cut the end of the song off. It is one of the most powerful things he does in the entire piece. He closes out the song in the most amazing, unexpected and classy way. Just like BTS you need to make sure you let the video run to the very end because his performances aren't necessarily over when it sounds like they might be. please tell me you went back and listened to the video on his channel! The end was one of the best parts. The fact that you can hear him breathe before he phonates and after as well is also very Dimash and amazing. You can clearly hear this in the beginning of the song. A person must wear good earphones or buds to get the most out of his songs. So many nuances
