I think the song “Stay Alive” by Jungkook, produced by Suga which was released last year shows Jungkook’s vocal range and versatility more than any other. It was done in coordination with an Anime EBook. There is an MV with all the members but he also did the complete song solo.

Falling is my favourite song by Harry Styles and I love hearing both of them sing this song. But I get goosebumps hearing Jungkook singing this song every single time.

One of the most amazing aspects of Jungkook's voice is that he has a rich voice with many harmonizing overtones even when he sings with his breathy voice.

The range on the Paper Hearts is crazy because it is sung by a female, Tori Kelly. She’s considered a mezzo-soprano. There’s a video out there of them in a hotel & Tae playing it on his cell phone & encouraging JK to sing it. At that time JK didn’t know all the lyrics perfectly but he sounded like an angel….literally. He lowered the key for the cover version but in that video he sang it in her key. Yes RM sounds so good in Fools. His voice & JK’s sound so good together. I hope we get a song with RM & JK one day. I love his singing voice. And I’m so glad you did Falling. It’s my favorite & you can really see his growth as a singer. You can really see how much he’s capable of from his Weverse free concerts too.

I totally agree with your take on JK's cover of Falling. It's so nice to hear his full voice for pretty much the entire song. No falsetto or anything other than his pure "natural" chest voice. Jungkook has vocal skills and a great versatility that adjusts to every genre he performs and knows how to own the performance. My fav cover is Falling, but I seriously recommend 10,000 hours and Only Then. Both are GORGEOUS! Also, he has done a few more Bieber covers - 2U is beautiful and so is Nothing Like Us is amazing too 🥰 Edit: OMG how could I forget All of my Life?! This one is only part of the song because he posted it on Twitter, so it’s only 2:20. It’s a video of him singing and it so raw and emotional. Literal perfection!

Something that never seems to get mentioned is choices. Nobody dumped a bunch of songs in his lap and said here, sing these. He has made a choice to do these particular songs as covers and I think that tells us a bit more about him. Either because he loves the messages or he loves the melody/style or both.

It really touches your heart, the words coming from a deep place and the heavenly voice of JK, wowie! They can sing forever!

They were both so young when they did Fools. We know what a gifted singer JK is but I remember seeing in a video RM mentioning that he hides his voice. I'm glad that he has been willing to share it more as time has passed.

Falling is also my favorite JK cover, his voice have matured a lot throught the years, (even if he had already an amazing voice when he debut with BTS, he is not the main vocalist for no reason) and in this one, it's a absolute perfection ! And I 'm in love with his duet song, with Jimin or RM . I still recommend you some other JK covers : 2U; Nothing like us ; Who (ft Lauv and Jimin) ; At my worst.

Suga plays panio....you mentioned panio in review ...wouldn't be surprised if it was him as they are very close and Jungkook only member that can go into his studio without invite .

I'm with you on FALLING, John-my all time favorite cover/song of JK's! IMO, it's actually better than Harry's original, but I could be a bit biased, but still, it was beautifully sung! Fools with JK & RM was stunning as well.

We don’t talk anymore is one of my favorite covers he does! Jimin is perfect to sing it with him. I definitely feel his covers are better than the originals. The OG artists are great, but JK will always be next level. Falling though is my absolute favorite. I could listen to that on repeat all day. With that song it’s like you just have to pause a moment after that last note to be able to comprehend and take in every moment of it. And I hadn’t heard the cover with RM before and omg! RM and Suga caught hell from the Korean hip hop community when they started, but they blow those guys out of the water with their insane level of diversity! BTS definitely can’t be caged! ❤

First I want to say that I love the little pairings we get on these things like the one we got with RM and JK and Jimin and JK. Thank you for this reaction, John. At last! Falling! Jk stayed true to the original in this song, in fact, if you listened to Harry's original, you can hardly tell the two versions apart. I love JK and Jimin's version of We don't Talk Anymore - JK's breathiness and that hitch that Jimin puts in his lower register; they put so much character in this song. JK and RM crushed Fools, isn't it wonderful when we see the rappers singing, and singing well! Jung Kook did a ton of covers - crushed them all, too.

I really appreciate your experienced analysis. 🙂 I'd never heard Fools with RM or We don't talk anymore with Jimin. I think I've heard JK sing the latter in his lives but never knew Jimin did it with him! Enjoyed both a lot. Falling is so beautiful, isn't it. JK has that ability to choose a song that he knows he can both emotionally connect with & execute in the best ways. He has such good musicianship & music really flows naturally in his veins. I'd love to hear your reaction to JK's cover of, 2U, another Justin Bieber song. In the past both RM and Suga were so self deprecating when it came to their singing, but I absolutely LOVE their voices when they sing!! I mean they aren’t ever going to sing or sound like JK, but the tones of their voices are so gorgeous and I’ve been so happy in recent years when they both play around with more melodic vocals in addition to their amazing raps. I think they just lack some confidence and I was so happy when we found out Suga was taking some vocal lessons because I hoped that meant we would eventually hear more of that in his songs 🥰. They are seriously just all so talented and I want to hear so many different styles from them all and there is not enough time 😅. Like I want an acoustic JK album, but also an R&B album. Likewise Tae having an R&B album would be incredible but then he also needs to explore his Jazz side as well. I also seriously want more JHope vocals because his singing voice is absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!! I can think of at least 3 completely different genres for each member that I would kill to have an entire album of, and yet the members have still managed to surprise me with their solo albums….like I was NOT expecting Jack in the Box and tried to broaden my expectations even more for the other members but NOPE! Still a surprise hahaha

John Reaves, everytime I hear him in this song, I have goosebumps all over. I can hear him telling his story with the pain n that is what makes the different. He is a story teller n he nailed this n sounds like his own.

I remember hearing Falling on the radio and I thought "meh", but when JK did his cover I fell in love with it. My favorite cover as well!!
