Hey Guys, Thanks for the great reaction to all three videos. Your reactions are so appreciated.I believe your creditability as reviewers of hard core metal has opened the door for other hard core metal fans to give The Warning a listen. They would have not given a band composed of three teen girls from Mexico a chance. However your showcase of their talent has brought new fans to the table!!!
By the way all three play piano. Sometimes the keyboards are played through a click track because there are only three members of the band but is recorded by one of them paying it.
Great reaction (part 1) guys! You are nailing the concept perfectly! For your questions about the piano/keyboard: The three sisters are clasically trained on piano and they are the ones playing (i think Paulina the drummer) but has they are only three, it is added as a backing track. In the live performances where an intro or outro is piano only, they are the ones playing. Actually on their previous album, they have a few ballads in which the drums leave the place to the piano. They are actually very much multi talented. They all sing as well, as you probably arlready know.
The studio version of Dust to Dust is cleaner than the Live at Lunario CDMX version. I find Lunario live version of Crimson Queen is much better than the studio version. It showcases Dani being in character much better. Ale's thunderous bass give me the chills on this song. Pau was singing backup vocals to Dani. Ugh was the most difficult song for them to finish and almost never made it in the album. Their father (rumor is that its retaliation for the girls insisting that Copper Bullets be included in XXI Century Blood) insisted they finish the song. Out of this song come two others included in the album. The name comes from their frustration on composing this song.
Awesome!! I only heard single songs from this album before. I did not know it had concept. This time I am following lyrics. This is so cool ^-^. I am glad it won! I still want to see you guys do a Dir en grey album but this is perfect discovery for me. Thank you!! I will go to part 2 now ^^
Great guys happy you're enjoying 👍 During the outro of UGH its one of them playing. All are classically trained on piano. The live version of the song they play a guitar solo outro 🤘
Excellent!! I'm so glad you guys like it! You are doing really well with your interpretation of the story too. Thank you for this. I'm going to video 2 now.
I prefer the live version of THE ONE. It's tad more psychotic. Also, you nailed it on the "kill all the love that's for you" line. One reviewer dubbed this "Yandere: The Rock Opera", and this is probably the most yandere song on the album.
Yandere (ヤンデレ) is a Japanese term for a person who is initially very loving and gentle to someone (or at least innocent) before their devotion becomes destructive in nature, often through violence and/or brutality.
I’m loving every second of this. Thank you so much. Haven’t read the comments below, so apologies if someone else responded: all three members have classical piano training, but virtually all the parts heard on the recording are Paulina (Pau), the drummer/occasional lead vocalist. She’s generally the creative spark in their writing process, so she has the best working knowledge of the parts needed. One notable exception is “Crimson Queen,” the only song on the album in which Pau doesn’t appear. Aside from Alejandra (Ale) on bass, all instruments and vocals are Daniela (Dany), who wrote the song by herself. See you on Part II 🙂.
jafquist27 When they play the song live, you’re 100% correct. I was talking about the record, which only features Dany and Ale. Dany overdubs her own harmony vocals. I should’ve specified that in my original post.
The first time I heard Crimson Queen I got the goose bumps as well, definitely an album worth buying. You can pick it up on Vinyl or CD from The Warning's webpage, plus shirts and hats to help support the band. www.thewarningband.com/
Thanks for the great reaction guys!!! The interpretation is everyone's to make it their own. The band member's themselves even say that they all interpret it differently. But you guy's get it. SO NOW, watch the whole show on your own and take it in with what you now know. ru-vid.com/group/PLAOGal7pIOOgVxBWmowsMOWxXp1jJnZeI
Great reaction, the 3 sisters play piano, they themselves do the keyboards or piano, when they play live they use "piano" track, but in some songs that begin and end with piano play Daniela(guitar) or Alejandra (Bass), there are 2 songs that play the piano and sings Paulina "Black Holes" and "Escape the Mind"
I always get a kick out of Rudy (their manager) in Dust to Dust, when he does the 'Spanish Hell & Brimstone Preacher' thing during that short interlude.. kind of Pink Floyd-esque guy-talking-inside-your-head reference.😁 I've seen some hilarious comments about this, including him coming in during the middle of the song to complain, including someone double-parked in front of his car outside!🤣 There's not a bad song on the whole album, and they *REALLY* shine in their live performances, especially at Lunario CDMX, which has pretty much all the songs from the album on their YT channel. They were dressed to the 9's and the energy there was just off the charts!!🤘😎🤘 Great review you guys, there's plenty more out there. One of their early gigs back in 2015 from their girls school at Liceo del Monterrey, is definitely a must see too. It's also covered on their channel, and they do quite a few cover songs and a couple of originals, and absolutely nailed it, considering they were very young at the time!😉
Only a few times in a lifetime does a band comes along that is so far above it's peers that you feel lucky to watch them grow and develop. The Warning are a throwback to a time when music was created in a raw real way. No Auto Tune, no backing trac, only a clic track to keep them on track.
