About the Real Estate purchases: Part of her “billionaire” status is based on her investments and the worth of her masters. It’s really smart to invest in real estate, and she often lets others stay in her homes when she is not there. For the California property, she actually worked hard to get it registered as a Historic Landmark and has invested a ton into its restoration. The house in Rhode Island was sitting empty for 50 years. It’s the house she sings about in The Last Great American Dynasty. About the food bank donations: she actually does that for EVERY city she tours in, not just the UK, so that’s been happening since the beginning of the tour. She never publicizes it, the food banks occasionally will speak out and thank her publicly. Just sharing info ❤❤❤❤ Miss Americana is on Netflix and it’s a doc made by Taylor herself and it’s really really good.

She actually donated a really large sum to Kesha (I don't remember the exact number but it was a considerable amount I'd imagine even for her at the time) to help with the masters ownership court case she was battling. It seems to be something she's morally protective of which is lovely! I find it fascinating that her management team from the beginning has basically been her parents. Scott and Andrea both invested so much into her and worked insanely hard to get her recognition. He even scored her a Taylor Guitar deal as well when she was still a teen. It's without a doubt she wouldn't be where she is today without her father's business fluency and mother's ruthless determination. Hope you enjoy July 4th with your family!

According to Billboard, they have a compilation of Swift donations. it was $250,000.

As the girls are explaining, I won't go into it, but I have a fun fact. Taylor's mother had gone to a fortune teller, and this woman told Andrea that she would have a daughter very famous. If they were credited to a fortune teller, that's beside the point, but Mama Swift believed and bet everything on her daughter's career

There is the Miss Americana documentary that is about 1 hr 30 minutes that goes into her career, music writing, her battle with eating disorders, the Kayne/Kim thing, etc. It is on Netflix. It is really good and you get a sense of how she writes her music. The documentary is from 2020 so it doesn’t include her newer work like Folklore, Evermore, Midnights or TTPD. It has clips from her writing Reputation and Lover. ❤

I think part of her spending that money on buying up her building is the fact she can’t really leave her building without it being photographed and being followed. So she can go to different parts of the building and feel less caged, and also her fame may have driven other tenants out of the building plus then how do you deal with security regarding people coming and going if there’s tons of tenants but also they can’t block people from buying them so she just outbid them and now has more privacy. She’s already had issues of people breaking in and being weird and sleeping in her bed and stuff. I think it kind of just became practical for security and safety. So sure, she spends $50mil on a building but she also can’t do normal stuff like go to the grocery store or run out to grab some food or go to a farmers market or go to the park without it being a whole thing. It’s kinda sad that this is the trade off. The Miss Americana documentary has more interesting history in it as well as private footage and interviews as it was Taylor who released it. It includes parts of her songwriting sessions for the Lover album as well! Great video!

I wholeheartedly agree that to spend that much on real estate when it could help so many people is crazy. BUT I think she has way more valid reasons than most of the mega rich. She has to travel between major cities regularly and has to have somewhere to stay, but she can’t just check into a Holiday Inn. There are so many safety/security concerns for her, not to mention privacy. I can understand why she’d buy out as many adjoining properties in New York where she spends a lot of time so she can limit opportunities for people to interfere with her. Even with all those measures and the massive security team, she’s still had stalkers get into her house before. Now, did she have to buy a block of crazy expensive properties? No. But I know from living in St. Louis that the most private, easiest to secure properties are in the wealthier gated neighborhoods. And there’s something to be said for living near other mega rich people who mutually respect the need for privacy. I really struggle with the ethics of wealth. I don’t understand having significantly more than I need when I could have helped others (not that I’ll ever be in that predicament lol), but she’s one of the few people I can justify it for. Yeah, she came from money and had special privileges, but she’s also one of the smartest, most talented artists of all time. She legitimately works her ass off and (I feel) rightfully earned her wealth. Because her life in the public eye is what it is (and not by her choice), I can see how she’d need to spend a lot of money just to maintain some sense of sanity and safety. I’m an environmentalist, but I understand the private jet. How’s she supposed to fly in a regular passenger plane? At a certain point it would start to impede and potentially endanger others, not just her. There are some crazy people out there. And a LOT of not crazy people who just really love her and would want to meet her. The crowd control in public spaces like an airport would be insane. And like you said, she does donate a lot of money and time to others. I’d say much more than the average person in her wealth bracket. **realizes hyperfixation train of thought went off the rails and stops word vomit** 🙃

welcome back! i'm glad the whole flooding situation was resolved, sorry that happened! i know that the video already touched on the subject a little but i wanted to add a few things about the re-records: the last album owned by her previous record label is "reputation" (2017). she's not doing the re-recordings in order, which i think is pretty fun because we're always guessing which one will be next (some of the theories are pretty crazy though 🤣). as of now, there are 2 albums left for her to re-release: her debut ("Taylor Swift" - 2006) and "reputation", which i think is pretty poetic, because i've seen someone say that now she only has two things left for her to take back: her name and her reputation. she usually announces the re-recorded albums a few months before the release, but people are speculating that she's not gonna make an announcement for rep tv because when "reputation" was originally released it came with a poem that said at the end "there will be no explanation, there will be just reputation". everyone is LOSING THEIR MINDS waiting for rep tv!!!! (myself included). by the way, i have a bit of feedback if you don't mind: i couldn't reaaly catch what you were saying when you were talking over the video 😬 i'm not sure if you were talking too quietly or if the video was too loud, but you could keep that in mind for future videos if you'd like. have a great day :)

when taylor signed her first label back in 2004, she gave it the rights to her first 6 albums in exchange for cash advance. when scooter sold them in 2020 to shamrock holdings company, she attempted to buy them back but couldn’t. she then decided that if she could record all her albums before she could do it again. these re-recorded albums have vault tracks that her label said she couldn’t put on the original album - so she now includes them. the merch she sells for these albums are normally limited editions including vinyls, cardigans, blankets, cds, etc. she normally follows a pattern when dropping re-records and albums - every two years she’ll normally drop an album. so like 2020 was folklore and evermore, 2021 was fearless tv and red tv, 2022 was midnights, 2023 was speak now tv and 1989 tv, 2024 currently is the tortured poets department, and 2025 will (maybe) be reputation tv and debut tv.

Songwriters own the lyrics and arrangements to their work. So Scott BoogerJerk owns the original recordings/albums, but not the songs themselves. So she is re-recording them all. Reputation and “Taylor Swift” aka: Debut are the last two TVs (Taylor’s Versions) she has yet to release. She does announce the releases and does a merch drop along with them, but there’s no official release structure…. Just ask the Rep Girlies who are still clowning for it to be released at any given time (it’s me. I’m a Rep release clown 🤡 😂)

I dont believe she's really a billionaire yet. There was an article that claimed that by the END of her eras tour she will have grossed 1 billion. But that's not 100% hers. Im sure it's shared. So she is probably in the 500 - 700 million range which is amazing, but not a ground breaking headline. Still, the amount of content and zeitgeist she has provided for her fans is indescribable, at least it's a millionaire that I voluntarily support. She is not in the shadows, playing with the cost of basic necessities or manipulating health cost. There are much worse people who should be held responsible for our social frustrations.

Great reaction!! To answer some of your questions..Taylor is only re recording her first six albums up until reputation. Lover is the first album she owned after her masters were sold without her knowledge in 2019. And yes, there is no real timeline for the re-recording drops. She isn’t doing them in order of original release… but so far she has released fearless, red, speak now and 1989 in that order in the past 3 years. She also has released two original albums (midnights and ttpd) as well in this time. she mostly treats these “taylors versions”as a new album cycle because she adds songs to these albums that weren’t originally on the project called “vault tracks”. These are songs that she wrote at the time, but it didn’t make the album.(one of the vault tracks on red was the all too well 10 minute version )She re-recorded them and reproduce them just like the other original tracks. And then usually promotes one as a single for radio, and such. Also, she has announced speak now and 1989 at the eras tour and she puts Easter eggs, leading up to the announcement and the fans go crazy trying to figure out what her plan is lol when she announced 1989 she wore brand new blue versions of all of her outfits for each section of the tour.(blue is the 1989 color) and for speak now, she had a music video for one of the vault tracks where people from the original era music videos return. And she invited them on stage at her show as well . I believe it’s pretty successful because the fans get so nostalgic for that album and that time. Even though Taylor was really doing it to set a precedent that artist shit on the work. Also, she does put out new merch drops also lol

This is a really good song, but I always skip it because it brings on so much strong emotion and always makes me feel a little sad even though it’s not a sad song. The emotions from the breakup songs hit different even though it’s a stronger initial reaction (maybe because it can be harnessed into anger?). I have a decent relationship with my parents, so I don’t know why The Best Day has such a lingering sadness after listening to it. Never Grow Up is in the same category for me. I almost never listen to it all the way through.

Taylor did an interview with voige in 2015 where they asked how many guitars she owned and back then she had lost count. So pretty sure she has ay leasy 100 by now 😂 also she learned 12 string because her guitar teacher said that her hands were too small and she (a little girl) should just do 6 string

Regarding the properties... I believe it's quite usual for for people with any sort of means to buy properties as a secure investment of their money. Especially in the places she buys the properties, her funds are probably quite protected by any inflation and turmoil. I can't imagine the management of such wealth, but we should not forget she is not just a person, but sort of a 'company' with many employees who rely on the stability of her financials....being smart about her money is important not only for herself and lifestyle. These billionaires don't go around with millions in their wallets, those funds are spread across banks, properties and I don't know what other investments and management budgets....
