METALHEAD REACTS | VOCTAVE - "Disney Love Medley" 

The guy she’s singing with is Jeremy Michael Lewis, a singer that was in another acapella group that she met through the Sing Off (different season) and started dating and actually announced their engagement a month or so after this video came out. The relationship ended about a month before their wedding was to take place however, and she is now happily engaged again and has a beautiful baby girl. The young lady in the black dress hitting the high notes up into the atmosphere is Kate Lott. She is phenomenal, as are all of Voctave.

Voctave is wonderful! You should definitely check out more of their songs. The woman singing those incredible high notes is Kate Lott, she has one of the most beautiful voices I've heard.

Voctave's "Disney Princess Medley" would be a good next stop, but you can't go wrong with Voctave. For a metal-loving Viking with daughters, consider the all-sister trio from Monterrey Mexico "The Warning". Start with the music Video for "Evolve". The Warning Army will descend and lovingly guide your journey from there.

Voctave has it's own channel and they are amazing! Those two sopranos are amazing... everyone really is awesome. This medley specific is very emotional and it very nice to hear your story linked to these songs.

Their richly layered arrangements are specifically crafted by Jamey Rey (he sings tenor/baritone with them) for each voice, knowing their strengths and what needs to be showcased for the song. Every single one of their beautiful songs will hit you in the feels because they are a masterclass of harmonies and dynamics and just pure vocals (no percussion or beatboxing - only one song I can think of with instruments, Remember Me). Princess Medley showcases the women, Heroes and Villains (their newest video), the men. You Will Be Found is something beyond special as well and The Prince of Egypt Medley is perhaps their best (audio only but you won’t care) work. They have other amazing collaborations and spectacular Christmas music too. Please keep Voctave in your rotation, you won’t be disappointed!!

This is one of the best Voctave songs of all time, and now I recently rediscovered it from this, finding your video randomly in my feed - hadn’t listened to it in a long while. I'm a little late getting around to watching and commenting on this video, but I wanted to say thank you. I have never looked at that song in that way, and when you flashed the pic of you and your kids, I immediately started crying. My kids are 22, 20, and 16 years old now, and the two oldest live far away. There were a lot of emotions coursing through me in that moment, and I needed that release. So thank you.

Yes beautiful for sure! The group behind them is a Voctave! They are amazing. They are from Florida and tour all over the US. Many singers are also with the Voices of Liberty from Disneyworld and some are Barbershop Quartet singers. They are worth checking out. Check out the Disney Princess Medley and their movie theme song medley and other great pieces.

So glad you checked out Voctave and loved it so much. They have so many beautiful songs but I think you'd like The Disney Princess Medley (all women in the group solo), The Villians/Heroes Medley (all men in the group solo), and their Great Movie Medley.

Viking, I have to say. This is one of the best reactions you've done. Just because you're an Epic, Badass man does not mean that you can't have emotions or feel things. I'm sure the same Vikings that went down in history as brave warriors had tears in their eyes when their daughters were born, or when their little girls had those rights of passage in their life, including getting married or moving out. Love is universal and everyone feels things. The same warrior who would go out and fight animals and men would hug and cherish their children that they came home to, knowing that they were able to live to cherish the things they were fighting for. Don't ever think that it's a detriment to let that part of you shine through. That being said, I am a certified Pentaholic, a Home Fry, and a Voiceplayer, but I absolutely LOVE Voctave. I don't think we have a name for the Voctave fans yet, Voctavites sounds a bit... odd, but whatever, I am one. Kate is the AMAZING soprano and she gives me chills EVERY TIME with her amazing high notes. Likewise, the entire group crushes everything they do and while so many talk about the big 3, I believe that Voctave and bunch of others are so deserving of love too and very few react to their songs. BYU Vocal Point is another group that crushes song after song, as does Rip Chord and many, many others. For a truly amazing trip, check out Misty Mountains by Peter Hollens and featuring the amazing Geoff Castellucci, whom I know you already know and love. One note in that one is so amazing that you can literally see the camera shaking from it. Actually, Peter Hollens is known as the "Master of Layering" and has songs that are only him, yet it sounds like 50 or more people are singing as he layers his own voice on the arrangements. For amazing bass, you should also check out some of the things from The Bass Gang who all met on TikTok and perform completely separately together as they all live in various parts of the world. There was a GoFundMe to allow them all to meet up IRL to make music and it reached the goal, so hopefully we'll hear so much more amazing music from them in the future as well. Cheers, brother!

I just found your channel and have gone through most of your reactions to this point. I love your Joy and it is so infectious that I cant stop smiling as you discover these songs that I know and those that I am just now discovering. I think you would love all the songs by Voctave and they will blow you away as much as Pentatonix to the point that I cry almost every time I hear most of their songs from pure Joy! Just listening to you speak about your children makes it a great reaction. The fabulous Kate Lott and Tiffany Coburn are both powerhouse sopranos but both can light on the high notes as delicately as a butterfly on a rose. The baritone in the dark red shirt is the amazing Jamey Ray who founded Voctave and writes all of their musical arrangments.❤ 😊

First, dont ever ever apologize for being emotional while being in the presence of great art. That just shows that you are an open minded person, that can appreciate beauty. My personal favorite part of this video is when the two leads are shaking their heads in disbelief, because of what Voctave is doing. Second, if you really want your mind blown, you should see some of Voctave’s videos. I cant even discribe how insane it is. Their Disney Princess medley is my favorite, but also O come, all yeh faithfull is a song is a good song to react to. But you cant really go wrong with this group. You have no idea, i promise you!!

As a bass singer, I can't describe how much I adored *FINALLY* hearing someone recognizing the quality of those dudes there. Kate is certainly wonderful, but come on... look at how effortlessly those guys hit and control those notes!! Also, thanx... I started crying before they even started singing, because I sang that song a lot to my babies. Anyway, thank you for sharing this, it was a wonderful experience!

The first time I heard this lovely medley, every nerve in my body was quivering. And then as they built that hair-raising, dissonant chord just before the heavenly resolution of "I can go the distance." I came unglued. Thanks for posting your on-point and astute reaction. You, my friend *are* a Viking - and not in spite of your emotional intensity - but because of it.

And if you're willing to completely blow away any macho Viking image you might possess check out "Where Are You Christmas?" by Voctave (yes, it's a Christmas song so you might want to react to it during the holidays). I DON'T cry when listening to music, so I was totally surprised to find myself choking up throughout this medley. I have heard and enjoyed it so many times in the past, I couldn't possibly count. (I've been a Pentaholic since their first appearance on the Sing-Off in 2011.) But I'll never view this performance the same way again. I kept seeing little Julia's open eyes and, more significantly, my oldest daughter, Katelyn, who was 15 months old and sweetly sleeping on a hotel bed in China the first time I saw her open her eyes. Darn it, my eyes are swimming again! Thank you for sharing your vulnerability and gifting me with such a wonderful memory and a new association to it. My girls are both off in the world, Katelyn across the country in Boston serving with Teach for America, and her sister, Kelsey, all the way in Macedonia, serving in the Peace Corps. Great VOCTAVE...I think you like the highest possible standards in music and singing. Me, too. Nightwish, Floor Jansen, is fantastic in Symphonic Methal and the best in the world. VOCTAVE is the best in the world in acapella singing. They also work with Gospel musicians and singers (Sandi Patty, David Phelps and Mark Lowry) and a composer David T. Clydesdale.

I may like (er, 'Love') 'PTX' the VERY BEST... I may appreciate 'VoicePlay' and 'Home Free' as being very special... I may recall 'Manhattan Transfer' so very fondly... BUT But, I'd say 'Voctive' has to be the most 'Professionally Gifted' A Cappella group of them all!
