Metallic Cerapad Kin Review, comparing it to the Razer Atlas.
The Kin is a ceramic mouse pad that has taken the throne from my Razer Atlas. Possibly the best and most versatile mousepad for FPS gaming.
TJ Exclusives nailed it with this one. Truly an S tier company.

I bought the Pulsar Superglide, had it for a couple of weeks but I love it. My one imperfection with it, I would like to try something with a slightly slower surface. But I love the uniform and smooth mouse movement, makes a huge difference for me. For that reason I don't see myself trying this ceramic pad, as it seems to have performance elements similar to cloth pads in some ways, which I have moved away from, I am now a hard surface pad gamer all the way. I realized that I use very very light pressure when I move my mouse, so any surface with non-uniform elements or too much friction drastically changes my in game consistency and mouse movement. I feel so much freer and more natural on glass, as there are less impediments translating my mouse movement to my in game movement. It's made all my games more enjoyable so far.

Hey, today got my cerapad kin - i love it even before the break-in period, especially control, i have one question - a lot of people say that after break-in it's faster, will it lose control and stopping power? not gonna lie - it's perfect for me now and i just dont want to transform my cerapad to skypad xD
@LogPileGaming
@LogPileGaming Год назад
Hey Adixu, the biggest change will be the stickiness, it'll just wear off over time. It is still very controlled but that "muddy" feeling will eventually feel a bit smoother. Thats the best way i can describe it! I am still maining mine. The control is like no other hard pad I've experienced! I'm glad you're enjoying yours bro. Take care, have a great weekend!

Hey logpile out of those four mousepads what would you prefer for the hsk pro. I heard that fingertip users kind of tend to prefer speed mousepads or whatnot. For microadjustments there should be about low static friction for the carapace kin so im interested if you will be better at something like static. Also what do you mean by the certain skill level for thise mousepads, are you speaking based off of potential?
@LogPileGaming
@LogPileGaming Год назад
Hey Sentinali 👋 I would recommend the Kin for the HSK Pro, I think its important to recognise that speed on cloth is quite slow on glass. That's why i think a KIN (being the slowest and more controlled of the 4 glass pads I've covered) would be the best bet. The HSK is difficult to control on the skypad, a bit easier on the Atlas and WAAAAY more manageable on the KIN. My comment on skill for this pad, is reference to the pressure you apply making your input feel different. My static scores have increased on the KIN, specifically when using big mouse feet. I hope this helps??

@AimAdapt

@@LogPileGaming My sens is super high but I'm a wrist aimer with minimal movement. That is why im always so big on micro adjustments in my videos. I had to go way up on the kin and am at 3200dpi with 1.7 in apex. lol

@@LogPileGaming I played high sens forever then I went low sens for a year because of shroud and everyone. I decided one day to go back to high sens because i never felt as good on low sens and haven't looked back since :) Makes you much more picky with your setup with high sens though. lighter mice and low static friction makes a much bigger impact. I'm not saying it is better for everyone it just works best for me.
@LogPileGaming
@LogPileGaming Год назад
@AimAdapt Slowly realising that settings and peripherals are all personal preference, almost like your gaming fingerprint. I had a similar experience to you, but the other way round. I can see your point about your setup being harder to find with a higher sens, like everything matters more, you have less margin for error - I'd never considered that before. I need to give yours a try just out of interest 😁

I totally understand that, its something that tones down after the break in period but its still there. Personally its grown on me - I dont think id like it if it stayed like the "out of the box" experience, but after the break in, its ideal for me. Thanks for the comment broski

Many testers say the pad has to be broken in first, how long does that take on average? I'm also interested in whether the coating wears off noticeably and whether you quickly notice a difference in friction in heavily used areas, such as the middle? Thanks!
@LogPileGaming
@LogPileGaming 3 месяца назад
Hey! I would estimate the break-in period being about 7 days of heavy use, but it has been a while since I had a new Kin so maybe this has changed since I reviewed mine. I also havent noticed different speeds in my pad, but I use a low-medium sensitivity so maybe I'm just using more of the pad than the other reviewers who are maybe using a higher sens? Hope this helps Zindro 🙏

Finally someone who admits not having the required skill to play on a skypad, I see too many people just say it's bad because they can't aim on it. Skypad is basically your raw aim, if you make mistakes it's basically 10000% your mistake. On the other hand a slower pad is just helping you to control your movements so it's basically not all you, that's why I believe the best aimer ever is going to be forced to be on a glass pad if he wants to reach his MAXIMUM skill

That a very interesting pad, i wanted to purchase the new version of the cerapad in white at first but Pulsar released a gorgeus collab with conrady / fresh reviews and nachocustom so... sorry TJ exclusives 😅(hope they will find a way to make a sick design on their Cerapad KIN one day) I saw you are using X-raypad Obsidian Skates and finding a review is really hard about those so how is the durability on glass pad ? I heard they last longer than other PTFE skates is that true ?

@LogPileGaming 11 месяцев назад
Hey 👋 It's a shame you missed out on the Cerapad Kin experience, but the pad you have is beautiful, even if it isn't as nice a surface (IMO). I could legitimately stick that pad on my wall as art 🤣 This is a link to my buddy talking aboht the dots o twitter, I'm less perceptive to the difference thwy provide in terms of feedback, and I havent noticed any wear on them yet - I havent used them a tonne cos I have been using other mice though 😬 sorry for the poor response! @@LogPileGamingThank you very much for having taken the time to answer my question. Yeah, and it's not the only pad that deserves to end up on a wall (too many great designs coming out this year)😂 Thanks for the link, I'm looking for as many different opinions as possible and that's help a lot (the only one I've found so far on youtube was from Jakeu who made an excellent video on dots skates recently and without him I would never have heard of these skates). Volta Reviews also seems very interested in these skates, I can't wait to see the number of reviews increase over the next few months. X-raypad deserve it, i really like that company but they're a little late to the skates market and it feel's like almost no one cares about making a complete review about new PTFE Skates in 2023 🥲 (on the other hand, for glass skates there's a lot of interest... wich is a bit frustrating when you are a new glass pad user and you're looking for the most durable skates🤣).
@LogPileGaming
@LogPileGaming 11 месяцев назад
@lltalionll Hahaha I understand your point here, ref limited coverage. I'd love to fill that gap, but honestly I just can't dedicate the time to familiarise myself with the feel of each skate again (you forget what they feel like after a while of not using them i guess ha) to do the review justice. I know stubbyfps has done a skate review recently, im not sure if these were included or not tho. hes a good guy. Also, are you worried about skate durability cos of what you've read online? or have you experienced it yourself? also, how do you grip your mice (fingertip, claw, palm)? and does it feel like you apply alot of pressure on the mouse when playing? All of these things will effect wear and tear. As a ftip player (predominantly) I dont really notice wear and tear on my skates on glass pads, cos im not applying much pressure in that style, but im sure if i clawed or palmed, it would be a diff experience. Final point!! Tiger ice dots cost about 8.99 amd you get LOADS in the pack, its not nor.ally an issue to switch them out, one pack will probably last you a year of consistent use. (same observation for the xraypad dots to be fair)

@@LogPileGaming I claw my mouse and i experienced a weird issue with Corepad Skatez Pro on my XM2we : at first they were awful but after the breaking period they were fine but one day while i was playing i stopped using it because i began to have an irritating scratching sensation at the front of the mouse (the kind of you cant play anymore with it), even though I hadn't used it too much and the skates was clean. I had quite good experience with ghostglide edgerunner on my X2 but i'm still disapointed and i changed cuz idk why the skates worn out unequally on the surface (same for Corepad on the XM2we). Maybe i will try Tiger Ice dots in the futur because i really like the Tiger Ice on my MZ1 they are quiet and smooth but feel like slower than others skates i tried (weird), thanks. And i will check stubbyfps content, thanks a lot for your help. Also i'm trying to not apply too much pressure while i'm playing.

What do you mean by breaking in the mousepad? How does it change the mousepad? How do you know you broke it in.
@LogPileGaming
@LogPileGaming 11 месяцев назад
Hey 👋 Imagine it like buying a new pair of shoes, when you first put them on, they feel different to how they feel after 3 months of use. The Kin feels a bit sticky when it arrives, and I notice a bit if "tug" on my mouse on a new Kin, however, after a week or so, the stickiness and "tug" feeling basically disappears, and you're left with how the pad is meant to feel. I'd say it feels smoother when its broken in, still controlled, but less sticky. It is quite a fast pad when compared to cloth, so be aware of that! TJ Exclusives have said not everyone notices the break in period on the Kin, but it feels quite obvious to me. I guess you'll know its complete when you no longer feel your mouse skates sticking to the pad on those small adjustments. It'll feel a little less sticky to your skin too 🤙 I hope that helps 🙏

Hey man i’ve been looking at getting this but i’ve been seeing mixed reviews i really like my vancer ice but it’s a little to quick and i also want a hard pad, But people have been saying it chips and it’s not worth it because you have to change skates a lot. I’m really interested in it due to having naturally really shaky hands and i want a hard pad, i’m wondering how it holds up and if you still recommend it and do you still use it?
@LogPileGaming
@LogPileGaming 10 месяцев назад
Hey Fiorxe, Unfortunately I havent used a vancer ice so can't compare the speed 😬 i havent had any issues with the coating on my Cerapad Kin, I've been using it ever since it arrived (other than when I am testing other pads of course), I looove mine, but I'm not sure hard pads are a good fit for you if you have shaky hands? I guess it depends on how shaky your hands are... it sounds like you might be better off getting a control cloth pad? Maybe something like the memoria pro? or saturn pro? a higher friction pad would help you to manage that shakiness a bit better. Although the kin is a control oriented hard pad, it is only really a control pad compared to other hard pads (whoch offer very little control), the kin is still very fast. I havent noticed too much wear and tear on my skates, but i use lots of different mice all the time so maybe thats why. I love my Kin and can recommend it, but you might want to consider a control cloth pad for your specific use case / requirements. I hope that helps?
@fiorxe
@fiorxe 10 месяцев назад
@@LogPileGaming thanks man. Yea i was just wondering bc even though my hands are shaky i manage to play pretty well on the vancer so i think a hair more control would be good but hard pads in general don’t have the same feel as cloth, i had 2 cloth pads both control oriented and it felt weird like my hands were shaky but slow at the same time idk how to explain it😂 So i got the vancer to see how i could handle speed and i’m sorta used to it after a bit but have been looking for a hard pad so i don’t have to buy a new cloth one every year or whatever, from what i’ve seen either the game sense sonar or the kin would most likely work, i’m sort of looking for an artisan raiden speed pad but in hard pad form as to not have to buy another 60 dollar artisan pad every year. I played on my friends raiden and it was really nice felt a bit more controlled but not snaggy and felt fluid ish to me personally

I love my Kin, I also really like the original cerapad (arrived yesterday), imagine the kin feeling like a chalk board texture, and the original cerapad as a whiteboard texture. Both offer good control but the kin is slightly better in that regard. The original cerapad is slightly faster as the trade off. Ive never used a raiden 😬 apols dude. I also think you'd have a good time with a newer glass pad, like the sonar, padsmith products or the wraithesports cosmic glass v2 control. Theyre way less "wriggly" than the skypad and atlas but I just prefer the TJ Exclusives pads (personal preference).

I’ve been looking into the pad smith and the sonar they seem pretty much like what i’m looking for just have to see if i want a little more control with the sonar or design plus more speed on the pad smith.
