Hi guys.
My all time favourite song, Off of my favourite album..
What a beast of a song, Truly epic.
The bridge section is probably some of the best music Metallica have ever written, in my opinion.
Been away for a while and wanted to come back with something epic, This will most likely be my last cover for a while as I work on getting some original music up here!
Planning a tone tutorial video too which will hopefully be up soon.

Dude this sounds amazing! I don't think I have ever heard a tone as close to Hetfield EVER! Let me know if you ever need any drum tracks for videos, I would give them to you for free!

How are you getting such good tone? As others have said, it's an exact replica of Metallica's tone - and they're not even the same pickups! (James used the 81/60s for most of the 80s stuff, a little bit of the 90s) How???

Hey bro, I'm planning a tutorial video on how to get this tone, hopefully I can smash something out this weekend, if not next week, so keep an eye out for that. (I'm also looking at getting a emg60 installed.. And an EET FUK sticker too lol)

Your Epiphone Explorer are like the ESP MX-220, the James Explorer's used on Justice tour. Good guitar ! and good Amp sound.

Watching this shows how much more technical the rhythm is. There are gallops and up strokes that would easily be missed without the visual. Sweet video man you got good skill and tone

+CWM so you just use the line6 on the meshuggah setting?? I'm looking to get back into playing and found your page looking for reviews of this guitar..well I might have found my amp as well

+David Krause For this video, No I did not use the line 6. This tone is all digital using impulse responses and plugins through the computer. In saying that, I use my line 6 for most of my stuff, is it the best amp put there? Hell no. But for its price and the tones/patches, Definitely. Good luck man.

Yea a little silly of me to think a 200 dollar amp is going to give such a nice tone..Anyway I think I may go digital now I have been looking at a Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 with Guitar Rig software. I am really just clueless about this stuff though lol

Hey man, I use Ultimate Guitar for all my Tabs. You can download the App for smartphones and find the 'Tab Pro' version, it's the most accurate I could find. I actually messed it up here too haha! I hope that helps bro

Fyi the last chord at the end of the chorus ie. At 4:41 is an fsus2 but it's so hard to hear it barely matters. You can hear it better in Seattle 89

Guitar Master hey man, EMGs definitely help for this sound particularly as that's what Metallica used to use. They're definitely not necessary though and you can get close enough with any pickups.

Guitar Master I have a video about getting Metallica tones if you'd like to take a look, they will get you really close without much EQ! But from an Amp point of view - Bass 8, Mids 5, Treble 9. The main thing is the really scooped Mids mate.

I have the same guitar but very different tone. I am plugged into an Orange 35RT, and sometimes i use the Behringer HeavyDistortion300 pedal. What amp are you using? Do you use any pedals?

I have played on the Blackstar ID:Core 100, all-digital, and it was awesome. it closer to that sound rather than my Orange.

No master at all bro, just playing straight over the song. And the mix is all about getting as close (just EQ) To the original guitar tones as possible

+felsgamer OK so according to Epiphones website, The Gothic black features a set of 'Classic' Humbuckers instead of the Active EMGS like this one has.

Yeah I saw that xD That's why I suggested going the step further. Although in my opinion if you're going to add a sticker like James does on his explorers you should put your own unique name on it, makes it more your own :)
