You have go listen to "wherever I may roam" by Metallica and "Seek and Destroy" And you have to hear the first 4 four albums of "Pantera" they had similar styles. Then they switched styles. Pantera and Metallica are the best.
Creeping Death is considered by many to be their best song ever. They play it live, the crowd chants "DIE, DIE, DIE" over and over again. It's amazing! Seen them 3 times.
For an old-school rock fan like me, the best way to rediscover songs I have loved for decades is to watch younger people hearing the music for the first time. It always makes me remember the first time I listened to that song. I ALWAYS watch new reactions from you guys. Keep it up, there are many more bands from the genre that are just as hard waiting for you to discover them.
You guys should definitely check out their performance of this in Russia in 1991. Their former bassist Jason Newsted does amazing live backing vocals for the track, there were over 1 million people in attendance, and loads of people from the Soviet Union hearing metal for the first time and losing their minds over it
Their last album “hardwired” is pretty heavy and great. They really went back to their heavier side. They still tour. They still make great music. They are just amazing.
Shout out to Eddie Munson for turning you guys on to Metallica! You guys are real cool, I'm really enjoying hearing what you have to say. As a 52 yr old metal head, it's such a joy to see people who missed this movement understanding why we went so hard for these bands. Come to Brooklyn and we can check out some live metal shows! Peace.
Same here just turned 20 and within the past couple months got into bands like Pantera, Black Sabbath, Death , obituary and slayer. Even just picked up my first 4 String bass
I am 49. I have been listening to Metallica since I was 14. Their first 3 or 4 records are absolutely their best. But Ride teh Lightening has always been my favorite. Even now I get chills hearing these tunes. SO GOOOD!!
Ride the Lightening came out the year I was born. At 14, I listened to ...And Justice for All to help cope with my mother's death. I'm now a therapist with PTSD learning how to play all the Cliff Burton songs for my own mental health. Every time I've heard a new Metallica song, my face and actions looked so much like you guys! Love, peace and metal from Minnesota! ✌️❤️🤘
As good as the album tracks are, Metallica was meant to be heard LIVE! Check out the concert from Moscow in 1991. It was the country's first chance to go to a big rock concert and they had the biggest crowd in history (1.6 million).
Apparently you haven't been paying attention and watching their reactions. The first reaction they did of Metallica was their Enter Sandman from the 1991 concert about 6 months ago.
Lead singer James Hetfield was raised very religious so he put a lot of that in their music that and about losing his religion… you guys are stayin consistent and really hitting all genres, keep grindin!
@@jeffmurphy1886 Yea and the subject matter comes from watching the movie ten commandments in the studio. I think when cliff saw the fog in the movie he said "it's like creeping death!" Also ironic that the song is based on a stoey in Exodus when the song was written by a guy in Exodus
So cool that you read the history. “Let my people go” I can’t say thank you enough to you guys for bringing back all these good memories of growing up for me! I know that I can click on any of your videos and instantly be put in a good mood. I have gotten everyone around here addicted to you and the intelligence of your reactions. You are all so open minded. Of all the songs you have been listening to, primarily rock, what would you compile as a top ten list for your own personal listening or what would make the cut for the best work out playlist. I made my uncle a work out compilation and a good chunk of it was old Metallica.
LYRICS: Slaves, Hebrews born to serve To the Pharaoh Heed, to his every word Live in fear Faith of the unknown one The deliverer Wait, something must be done Four hundred years So let it be written So let it be done I'm sent here by the chosen one So let it be written So let it be done To kill the first-born Pharaoh son I'm creeping death Now, let my people go Land of Goshen Go, I will be with thee Bush of fire Blood, running red and strong Down the Nile Plague, darkness three days long Hail to fire So let it be written So let it be done I'm sent here by the chosen one So let it be written So let it be done To kill the first-born Pharaoh son I'm creeping death Die by my hand (die) I creep across the land (die) Killing first-born man (die) Die by my hand (die) I creep across the land (die) Killing first born man (die) I rule the midnight air The destroyer Born, I shall soon be there Deadly mass I creep the steps and floor Final darkness Blood, lambs blood painted door I shall pass So let it be written So let it be done I'm sent here by the chosen one So let it be written So let it be done To kill the first-born Pharaoh son I'm creeping death
No Leaf Clover is one of my personal favorites from them and includes a live orchestra as well. The Unforgiven, Orion, and Welcome Home (Sanitarium) also definitely worth a listen.
watching this song live is amazing .. the "die, die, die" bridge is epic... they drop down to just the drums and bass and let the crowd chant for a few bars before coming back in with the full band... so epic to hear 30,000 people chanting "die" to that riff
As a kid growing up in the late 80s and early 90s my parents loved music of all genres and they made sure we grew up listening to everything. My dad is who introduced me to Metallica at a young age and that was it for me. They have been my favorite band ever since.
You guys should check out the live version of this in Moscow '91. They performed in front of a crowd of 1.6 million people. It was the Monsters of Rock concert. All you can see is a sea of people that doesn't end.
My day started f#*Ked up as hell. Decided to watch some RU-vid and now I have the biggest smile from ear to ear. I even got the goosebumps during your reaction to Metallica's CREEPING DEATH. Thank you. Disposable Heroes next please. Con mucho respecto y Amor 🖤🤘
Love y'all's videos. I'm a huge Metallica fan, so seeing someone experience them for the first time is awesome!!! And the energy y'all have is perfect!!
The man behind this song was Cliff Burton, who was well-learned and felt this would be a great topic for a metal song. Nothing says brutality like Old Testament God.
I love watching the sheer enjoyment you guys are getting from it. Im 52. Was 18 then. Dude in the red you can see by his facial expressions. My man in the blue is rookie headbanger slowly graduating to be a pro. You all need to grow dreads and let the hair fly. Like us white boys grew our hair and headbanged. Its a great release of energy. Especially if you had a bad day. You guys rock
The song Ride the Lightning is about a guy going to the electric chair. It's the title track, and to me the best song the album. I would listen to this in my room as a teenager and picture the whole experience in my head. It was totally mind blowing. Rock and most metal is pretty deep. That's part of my love for it. The lyrics.
So glad to see a younger generation finding Metallica. I grew up listening to these guys through the 80's and early 90s. I remember when the black album dropped, my high school building shook a little. Everyone that I knew had that cd in rotation. You guys should react to Disposable Heros from the Master of Puppets cd, imo is a top 5 song for them.
I love that you guys read the lyrics to get the meaning of the song! Makes a big difference. Oh and like the other commenters mentioned-PLEASE do the moscow 91version. Love you guys! Always fun to watch🙂👍
I found you guys from watching Tom MacDonlad reactions but love it when you guys do heavy metal the energy you guys have is great been having a blast keep it going
Thank you guys for introducing me to all different types of music! Love your reactions! If you ever need a suggestion, you guys should listen to the rock band, Stryper, and start with their the song Yahweh! It's a real banger! Thank you!
I just stumbled upon your channel recently and have been having such a good time watching you guys! You guys look like a super fun crew to hang with. I’m a super music nerd. I wanted to suggest, since you’re all into Metallica, that you might explore some other 80’s bands from Metallicas genre, Thrash Metal. Some bands to check out, Exodus ( that was started by Kirk Hammett, Metallicas guitarist), Sodom, Megadeath, Slayer, Suicidal Tendencies, or Anthrax…. So many more. I’d love to watch you guys trip on some of those, hahah! Crazy, but incredibly musically talented. Keep doing your show, it’s so fun! You guys are fun!
Greatest song they ever wrote. And that's saying a lot, especially since it's their 2nd album. Incredible. The energy this song has live though, oh man, mad hype
Bought my first Metallica album ( Kill'Em All") a few months after it came out....just for reference To me...their best album is Ride.....all the others are meh
I've loved Metallica since I was a kid in the 80's. Tons of great music. Want to check out something crazy, they have done concerts with a symphony too. Check out the S&M album. The main song for that album was No Leaf Clover.
One of my favorite things about youtube will ALWAYS be watching people from other walks of life, different musical tastes, openly explore and examine music that I love. Good times. I always have fun watching your guys' reactions.
If you want to hear one of the best openings to a metal album ever you should check out Fight Fire With Fire off of this same album. It has got to be one of their hardest songs they ever made.
Prior to that, I never heard a guitar riff so fast and brutal. My 13 year old mind was blown to pieces! From that day forward, they were my favorite band.
Best concert I ever went to was back in 89' when Metallica was part of the Monsters of Rock tour. There were 5 bands total that played that day in front of 80,000 people, and it was wild!!! The band's that played were Van Halen, Scorpion's, Dokken, Metallica, and Kingdom Come. Metallica was the heaviest and best out of the 5, but that's just my opinion. Overall a kick ass concert!!!!
I think this might be the best song off of this album. Fade to Black is also legendary and For Whom The Bell Tolls is a classic, but this song just SLAYS!
Absolutely love what you guys are doing…keep opening eyes and ears to other forms of art to help unite us all! God knows we need help from within ourselves to accomplish unity, because there are way too many forces purposely trying to divide us for their own benefit!
Just found you guys. First metallica video one of you guys said you could see the people there headbanging, now here you all are, headbanging along. Love it
It’s a really weird experience to be an “old” Metal head watching these boys discover songs. They could be my sons. It’s wild. Boy is the hockey shirt is mega extra 😂. I’m not sure how you grow up with so much tech and music at your fingertips and not get a little curious. Glad y’all are having fun and checking things out now. Better late than never. Theologically speaking this song isn’t completely correct/in order of what happened in Exodus, but makes for great subject matter. Love to see what you fellas think of Symphony of Destruction and Peace Sells by Megadeth. Also recommend Vote with a Bullet by Corrosion of Conformity. Could give you 1,000 Recommendations. Be well. Do your homework. Eat your veggies. Say your prayers. Peace out.
I just watched your first Metallica reaction followed straight away by this one...this was amazing. Bunch of dudes first getting exposed, sorta feeling it, then straight into full-on fandom.
Great reaction as always guys, some other great songs from bands I'm sure will hype you up also: Bring me the horizon - 1x1 Staind- been a while Fuel - shimmer
I can remember riding with my son Daniel and his friend Kasey to SC Village to paintball and listening to this on our way there, stopping at jack in the box for some breakfast sandwiches for the boys. Sadly, they went home to be with our Lord in July of 2016; vehicle accident. Thanks Cartier Family for the memory - God Bless
Metallica are still touring and throwing out albums in 22 and they just get better and I've seen them live 3 times over the years And last time with my son who is 26 and I first seen Metallica when I was 17 that same year I saw megadeth at donington monsters of rock in 1988 and slayer in Glasgow iron maiden Edinburgh with killer dwarfs Celtic frost UK was full of metal thrash bands
Just started watching today, this content is awesome, love it when people start their rock/metal journeys. I always say this too, black metal is what non metal listeners think metal is lol keep it up with the content!
"Spit Out The Bone" next! Its a BANGER. Also I would love to see you guys react to some of Metallicas most legendary live shows! (Seattle, Mexico City etc.)
@@DerEchteBold isnt "really" Metallica... "DerEchteBold" defines what metallica really is, thanks for the enlightment. If its not your type of tea, okay I respect that. I also highly prefer the first five albums but if you think anything after 91 isnt "really" Metallica, you have no idea what the band really is and stands for. By the way, Spit out the Bone is more thrash and "oldschool-Metallica" than anything on the black album.
@@xKisukeX96 More Thrash? Well, that's the problem right there! They should've gone with their new style and develop from there or just quit, instead of trying to relive their youth ever since, failing over and over, putting out yawn after yawn, becoming a pale copy of themselves. I tried listening to that last album with an old friend and we were bored to death halfway through. Just listened to the song you named just to be sure and yeah...It has a few nice moments but stll pretty pointless overall, why would you want to listen to that when there's the first 5 albums?! C'mon, seriously, you just listened to Creeping Death here, compared to that the other song is just some entirely unremarkable messing around, it's somewhat fast, that's cool, but that alone doesn't help much.
@@DerEchteBold They have the right to stay at their Thrash Metal Style. If you want Metallica to Evolve, why you dont speak about the Load und ReLoad or Garage Ära ? Even the St.Anger Ära is very unique. Its not really Nu Metal and not really Thrash Metal, something in between just like System of a Down a Own Cup of Tea and it Rocks !
Love Metallica, seen them 11 times in denmark. First concert was in 84. If you want to try a other band try Jinjer !! Peices or teacher teacher is recemandable, but all is good. Thanks for a nice channel you guys crack me up
I'm a middle aged guy out here in Hawaii, and I have to say that I enjoy watching reaction videos of the younger generation listening to music that I grew up listening to. I enjoy the videos! Please keep 'em coming. "One" is my personal favorite Metallica song.
I've been watching all of your videos. The dude with the red hat is the most real dude here. He is legitimely trying to understand everything. This dude is metal. Sorry for the bad english, cheers from Brazil!
LOL You guys are very entertaining to watch. I've seen 3 or 4 of your Metallica reactions now, and every time you all get your heads bobbing at the same time to the music, it reminds me of me and my friends cruising around headbanging to this stuff when it was new. LOL the only difference (other than that we were a bunch of little juvenile delinquent white kids) is when you guys do it there's a lot less hair flying around. 😆
Hey guys chers from Sweden. I love your reactions it brings me back to the 90' s when i first discovered Metallica. Even though you dont always understand the music i appreciate u branching out from compton :D
Great reaction! My old punk band used to cover this song. Our guitar player was a super metal head and nailed the solo note for note. People usually left for our set. They came back when we played this song. Then left after. We still kicked ass! And so does this song! And so do your reactions!
