Yo thanks, I like slappin' in some bloopers and outtakes once in awhile for a laugh and reality check. Basically, I didn't want to try this more than once that morning and get worn out so that was the extent of my warm up and adjusted the volume and just let'er rip!

One of the hardest covers yet for me bruh... it hurt my arm to just get through it more than a few times in a row this week and finally after procrastinating all morning I warmed up the tubes and turned the camera on for 7 minutes and 39 seconds and got it. The mix maybe different cuz JOsh's backing had the original guitars and vocals lower so it's not blending as much with mine, it could be the bottle of wine I had while mixing the audio too? I don't know?! {;o)

@@THRASHMETALFUNRIFFS it was killer. I either play too many notes (too fast) or not enough (too slow) and can't nail the rhythm. you should be proud!

HEy, ur totally right! Something sounds weird in this this, like some stereo cancellation conflict either in the time/delay thing or EQ curves? (besides the tuning, lol... It was totally perfect all week and was probably fine to just go for it but not wanting to be a dummy I ran it through the tuner real quick, and cuz Ride the Lighting is known to have this issue but I just didn't notice it till the middle of the song and figured mine were going to be louder anyway it wouldn't matter but it does)

Heyyya my friend, thanks always for staying tuned and poignant comments! It may appear I'm smiling during the long galloping under the solo but that's wincing just barely getting through, it's definitely the toughest part because it's not just a straight tremolo picking. I do know James actually harmonizes the lead with Kirk on the second half when they play this live but I just tried recreating the backdrop gallop for this to see if it was humanly possible, lol...

None are really, there's always lots of false starts, warning up, trying to hit the beginning on the right beat... This one is still a "single take" live playthrough I think? Just meaning no punch-in edits or copy pasting riffs in studio, lol?

IT maybe about 50 tries before even turning on the camera! Most of these are played through 3 or 4 times or more in a row, twice a day, just picking up more and more each time or getting it down, so after 7 days time that's be like 70 "takes" through... on this one, I felt like I did pretty good with it the day before since I had switched from playing along to the album to jamming with Josh, then I procrastinated filming till I thought I may not even play it today because if I get more than half through and get all off time during that long gallop thing under the solo that destroys ur arm and have to start over, it may just get worse and worse and waste the day. So, I finally just psyched myself up and said "ok, I know the song, go warm up a minute and try to hit it as best I can and be done with this one!" You know the struggle good as anyone, I'm SURE, ShrubDawg!

Hey cool thanks! My main pick is the Jim Dunlop NYLON grey .88 the nylon last a long time without leaving shaving dust and has a slippery smoothness to the material that I like but also raised letters for grip. I like D'Addario XL 10's, these on the Jackson are old (like 8yrs old) but I have a new triple set of Ernie Ball 10's I found on Amazon for like the price of one.

@@IronheadGarage the riff in Infinite at the 1:57 mark (if you include the acoustic intro) is to me, the best riff to ever exist in metal. Can't wait to learn how to play it, if I can!! LOL

IT's the BOSS ME-70 I got used like new on Ebay 10years ago! IT's like all the pedals for the price of one! Once it's dialed in how I like I can plug it in any amp or directly in the computer or just headphones. Awhile ago I made a 5 part series "How I make my covers" so you can see a little about the tone, mixing the audio for that wider sound, then making the video for Metallica Disposable Hero's cover!
