lars is an intelligent orator with wit and charisma but no patience and little self-awareness, whereas kirk seems to be a lot more conscious and thoughtful but nervous about his answers, which makes it easy for lars to overwhelm all the screentime they've got. lars even sits like he's engaging in a dialogue, not a discussion, with the way he leans forward and keeps kirk out of his periphery (0:22). kirk often looks annoyed (4:30, 5:32, speaking over one another 4:42, 6:32) and is continually is visible self-soothing (watch his hands). it's a bit unfortunate cos i would've been really eager to hear kirk's answers to these questions. he used to share a lot of musical insight through the 90s in the guitar world columns and i find that in recent years he's more confidently sharing theoretical knowledge behind his early musical writing
That's actually crazy....I didn't know that: James wrote the melody lines after the music was fucking recorded. As someone who records, that's sooo fucking odd, haha. It's awesome, but he must've had to practice so fucking hard to sing the melody while playing AFTER the record. That's fucking crazy. James is amazing man. All my words and melodies are already written right after the music, then record it. I have mad respect for that.
LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!!! I LOVE LARS ULRICH SO, SO, SO MUCH!!! IN THIS VIDEO HE LOOKS JUST...OMG!!!! PERFECT...im so sorry he is actually 35 years older than me....damn....I WILL INVENT THE TIME TRAVEL MACHINE!!!
@xxLimbo85xx just because "metallica died with cliff" doesnt mean people still dont like them. personally, i thorouhly enjoy metallica and i enjoy every album. everyone has what like, my favorite album is ride the lightning but i love the black album. if you were a fan of music you'd open your mind and not put metallica in a specific category.kill, ride, master were all incredible in the 80's. black, load, reload, st. anger were great alternative records.magnetic was a return to justice.awesome
Lol, Sabastian is alright man, he sings glam, but he has some fucking lungs on him...and inside I know he wants to make a Pantera type band, haha. He should just do it...he hangs with all super heavy bands.
Rofl, Jason listens to all this motown stuff....In the past he was listening to Biggie, etc. As a bassist, let me tell you why....BLUES, R&B (especially the old shit) and HipHop has sick, sick bass. I play all kinds of music, but no doubt, heavy rock (From MEtallica, to KSE, the Agonist, etc) is my main deal. But it's so awesome to hear a good groove. It influences your playing, teaches you when to lay back in the pocket, then bust out and follow a lick.
@xxLimbo85xx Well...thats just you're "opinion" NOT the truth as u put it! If the black album (not 1 of my favourites) was shit it wouldn't of been huge as it was! I know people who really like load/reload including me! The truth is people have there favourites! mine is ride the lightning.
He talks alot and the piracy thing pissed alot of people off. Also he can;t keep time and has never been a great drummer. Not very good reasons to hate the man himself in my estimation but he can be quite grandiose and annoying in interviews. Bottom line is no Lars, no Metallica.
