The dream-team right there. in my mind, those four right there, are the TRUE MetallicA. Rob is fantastic, Jason is my second favorite bassist of all time, and i think we can all tell who my favorite is. if Cliff was still with them today... well, metallica would never be the same.and i mean that in a positive way, not a negative way. RIP Cliff.
I was fortunate enough to have seen them on this tour. I saw them at the Bronco Bowl in Dallas. They had come through Dallas before opening for Ozzy. Then they did a tour of their own. I remember the band who opened for them....The Godz. I remember they didn't get over very well. That was my very first metal show. So I can't ever hate on Metallica. I can't because I REMEMBER what they were to me growing up. And they were loud....oh shit, they were LOUD!! Shook every rivet in place!
He was into southern rock and pop too, hip hop gained popularity literally right after he died so we don't really know, I'm sure he would have loved grunge tho

I doubt much would change, probably a little less pain in the music. Cliff was apparently looking forward to exploring more softer/ slower music anyways.
The AJFA and Black would of sounded different due to Cliffs contribution....as much as I love Cliff...I hate to say this but I think he would of cut his hair and "sold out" like his band mates did as they went into the Load/ Reload era.
