You hear the bass a shit load on Load and Reload BTW. Just wanna point out that in defense of Lars and Hetfield and those that may accuse them of treating Newsted bad. What they did on "And justice for all..." album was from their ego and unresolved grief from Burton's death and it should not and does not reflect how they treated Newsted throughout the remainder of his career with them.

Metallica....the beatles of metal. And I say that in the most loving and endearing way. Metal is not where it is today without METALLICA, the most influential and important metal band ever, no argument. An alternative answer to the question could be "Black Sabbath" and such an answer is arguably correct; but please save the shit where you try to explain that no really Slayer or some band like that is the better answer.
