Metallica is something, somehow, strange. They are not like the other bands. Everyone know other bands problems. But with Metallica, that comes to us in a different way. Looks like it's happening in the house of our neighbour, our friend or something. We end to live that so near. Understanding their musical evolution, is like understanding what they have come through. Shit... I don't know. For me is like it makes sense. Load was a really good, underrated album. And it takes to us so much of their problems, specially about James and his struggle to find the way. This song is deep, as Bleeding Me, as Mama Said... Well, a great album with some of the deeper songs from them ever, with great guitar solos (love that). Forget to mention: Metallica rules

GREAT song, the bagpipes are AWESOME. This song really hits me deep. I consider this and "Mama Said" to be 2 very original, non-metal ballads that MetallicA fuckin NAILED. Mama Said is more country, this is more folk, but both feel DAMN GOOD. Mama Said = Sad verse, happy chorus... Low Man's = Happy verse, sad chorus. Both are amazing songs.

This is Metallica too. This song, Fixxer and Outlaw torn are so underrated as Load & Reload.

" Even though the lyrics are sad, I like to think of this song as a positive one. The fact that the "low man" gathered his strength to sing this masterpiece for his significant other, it means that he is going to make it, even though he's decided not to be a burden and leave... I might be terribly wrong, but that's how I feel when I listen to this...and omg I fucking love it. I'll admit there were a few times when it had a sad ending in my mind , but that doesn't change my feelings for it . Most underrated Metallica song and a true masterpiece ! ❤️

ok, here's my favourite part about this song: The first part is definitely numb and right at 1:01 (please listen from beginning to hear what I mean) we fall into the truth of the man. the sound becomes more alive and warm and cosy. We become the man we have been watching from the outside. I think that moment is amazing.
