i'll never understand how a person can remember all the notes in a hundred different songs and play them all from memory. my hats off to all you musicians out there
you know Robert, it's like learning a poem, you just learn it by heart. I'm always very surprised how many songs I know and often just by hearing the first 2-3 notes. Those musicians, guitarists or pianistes for exemple, they study one piece hundreds of hours until it has entered their blood! Our brain is a sponge ;o))
For me personally it’s muscle memory. Once you learn something and practice enough times it’s just in your blood. Same as not looking at what you’re playing but you know you’re playing it correctly. Your body picks up the rest
Layla Crossley - He’s just another hater, probably the reason we haven’t seen any more of her lately. I don’t blame her. Screw all these jealous wannabes.
Layla. Shreds like an amateur? Are you mad or just a hater? Never seen/heard anyone as good as her in my life. We miss you Tina. Come back, when u have time even if you are a bit rusty after your studies? Good luck Tina in whatever you do
Enes T Obviously you don't play guitar. Our hands can move that fast. The guys from Metallica were in their early 20's when this was recorded, so it is entirely possible that Tina is able to play like this. It comes with time and practice, and it looks like she's had plenty.
I'm speechless....wow..wow...this girl can play any form of rock music...blues rock, jard rock, rock and roll, heavy rock, glam rock, trash metal, death metal.....She's just too awesome...really want to see her perform in live...👍👍👌👌👌😘😘😘
There must be something "magical" about Tinas playing. I can't stop watching her videos. I'm watching her play for many hours every week. Is that only me, or are there other people doing the same?
Ole Korneliussen I'm addict too! Not for hours, but very often. I like this sound too and also this cute little girl with poker face and fast fingers...
For all the "haters" out there giving her a thumbs down? Jealous much? This girl is an amazing and accomplished guitarist who could EASILY work as a professional session musician and with a little help, she could walk on stage and play next to the likes of Orianthi, Vai, Satriani, Malmsteen, Gilbert, Wylde, etc. She nails it note-for-note and her tone is spot on. Her bends, vibratos and pinch harmonics are 100% on the money. I have played for years, I too have a Vigier Excalibur Standard, and I can only hope that I can one day be 1/10th the guitarist that this teenage girl is today.
Bruce Kneller I agree that her soloing is top notch, better than some of Hammet's live performances. However her riffing needs a little bit of work especially the palm muting. Maybe it's because of her small hands. All in all she's still very young. Give her another year or two and she'll play flawlessly.
***** LOL! I am not upset in the least. I just call it like I see it. I'm not getting high an mighty in the least. I don't see a lot of kids her age playing anywhere near her level. This video is not the only video that I am basing my opinion on. Perhaps, you might spent 10 minutes looking at her other videos my friend?
***** You are entitled to your opinion and I do feel she could share a stage with pretty much any living guitarist and hold her own. Music is art and art is opinion. My opinion of her music is that I find her to be impressive. She is a great guitarist now. Not just for her age. Not just for being female. The devil is in the details which for me is closing my eyes and not looking at who is playing but what I hear. I would offer that you not base your opinion of her or of my opinion on this Metallica cover but look at her channel and see her covers of Malmsteen and Van Halen which are - again merely my opinion - exceptional.
@FK 86...I've listened to just about every Tina S cover and it's almost as if she always exploring 'how can I make this better' and damn...Tina S finds a way to do so without being real obvious. I think music genius is in subtety and Tina S thrives in being subtle - her facial expressions at times say 'did you catch that.' The only comparison I can think of to Tina S as far as the scope of music genius is Yuja Wang [piano]...maybe even Grace Kelly [sax]. RARE talent, indeed, who I hope one day will post more music genius!
Some of the best guitarists in the world, who have been playing decades longer than she has, would readily admit that they cannot perform some of the same feats on the fretboard that she can. She is a once in a lifetime virtuoso on the guitar. The combination of her talent, feel, speed, accuracy, dexterity and complexity is truly a gift from God. I know we’re not supposed to say this, but she's performing these covers better than some of the guitar legends who wrote them.
Chill out man. Shes a good guitarist but there are tons of people just as good as her and even better. She hasnt made any good music and thats the true test of a "once in a lifetime guitarist".. Jason becker for instance was better mechanically than her and made some of the best guitar pieces ever before he was even 18. Shes a great guitarist with a lot of skill but she hasnt done anything meaningful outside of covers.
Why is jimi hendrix considered the greatest guitarist all time? Why is Neil Pert considered the greatest drummer all time? It aint for their skill, its for their creativity. Lets say Tina has more skill than anyone, but that don't make her the best, only creativity makes you the best. She'll be a legendary guitarist when she makes something original.
What I really like about these videos is the complete focus on the music itself. You can appreciate all details, cause there is nothing else around it. It is always a great pleasure seeing a really good musician playing a great song near perfection.
The Cakeman Do you want me to slap the lips right off your face? Dave left in 1983 and it was Kirk who did the solo in 1986 ! Get your facts straight !
How I wish she'll come back, I'll really gonna be waiting for her damn this girl is undeniably talented. Such an incredibly prodigy guitar player, her talent is so pure and unbelievable amazing
I don't really say this very often, if at all, but this young woman is simply brilliant. I could practice that for 2 years & it wouldn't sound anywhere near that good.
Always impressed by her brilliant left hand precision and vibrato technique but this one also highlights the machine gun speed of downstrokes with her right hand.
Shes awesome. I especially dig the bends - almost like how Dimebag would play this. So shes put her own thing into it. What is insane is how the hell does Hetfield play this while singing.
Same thing here. Was doing laundry and halfway I was thinking, hey is this live? Something is different.... Walked to my pc and my jaw dropped. RESPECT!
Eu dei deslike porque ela é chata e tem cara de bunda tocando, o que adianta ter técnica e não ter carisma ou presença de palco...parece que toca obrigada ou ameaçada...
I just "discovered" these videos yesterday. They're awesome. I love watching the guitar work close up. Also have gained a new appreciation for the original composers and guitarists.
a piece of cake for her compared to the song "for the love of god" by Steve Vai. She nailed that song flawlessly better than live from the original performer IMHO
This girl is amazing!!!! I've been coming back to hear her for years. I hope things are going well for her, as much talent as she has!!! Mad respect Tina!!!
What a fabulous talent she has . This is one of the most difficult rock songs to play lead guitar on .I bet even Kirk Hammett would be impressed by this performance !
It's not sped up. I can do down strokes even faster after a half hour warm up. I have a guitarist that comes into my studio often that can down stroke so fast, it almost sounds like hes double picking. This is the kind of dude that you can't stick in a professional work place, or any work place for that matter because of a lack of people skills because he sat in his bedroom pretty much his whole life playing guitar, practicing, and running scales. Mea Bosa Ritchie
omfg! i was listening to a playlist with YT in the background and thought this was some live version that just had extra good sound. i was so into it i came to check out what it was all about, and there was this tiny 16 yr girl tearing the roof off my house! so awesome! 👏😲
I’ve followed my guys of rock for 51 years and we’ve had some great females that deserved more credit. I noticed that the ladies are pouring in more now! LOVE IT!!!!!!! Bring it ladies!!!! I hold no thumb on you!!!!!!!!!!
This young woman is so amazing! I've been on a binge watching a ton of your videos. Keep up the great work! I can't wait to see what you do with your talents in the future. Cheers!
Been listening to guitar covers by other artists. You are light years ahead. We miss you Tina. Have a great Christmas and New Year as well as we can in this situation. Stay positive Girl!!!
Wow. I have listened to rock guitarists for a very long time and I am just blown away by the talent of this young axe wielding demon. What an absolute talent you have.
I have never seen so much talent in one place before. Omg - can you imagine her walking into a guitar center or Sam Ash and asking if she could tryout the new strat?.
mikeyv ash yes dude, he was listening to Dragonforce and saw this video as a suggestion. It's probably both videos have similar tags, I didn't feel the urge to emphasise Through Fire and the Flames belongs to Dragonforce.
Metal classic powerfully and superbly played by Tina S; and beginning 3:35 she displays really formidable and impressive lyrical skills. This may not have been Tina's most personally challenging piece (though each has its own challenges), but I'm very glad she did it! It's a wonderful cover... beautifully and powerfully done.
Metallica the band of my teenage years. This cover the way u played it specially the slow solo part touched me to tears bringing a lot of memories! Thank u so much for sharing!
She is legit...I can hear the strings of her guitar give a soooo slight bleeding from her. She is badass and this isnt her mock playing this is her kickin ass
Daaaaaamn... this came up on my playlist and I noticed a slight difference in the guitar sound over the studio track but I thought it was a live version or remaster or something. I didn't have the video window in focus, was just listening so I didn't realize it was a guitar cover until the video paused and I had to bring the screen back up to resume. I was floored to realize that what I'd been listening to wasn't Kirk Hammet but instead a teenaged girl! I wouldn't have known had I not seen her playing it instead of him. This is godsdamned impressive as hell. As a metalhead who was listening to this stuff when it was still current and in fact before it was popular in the mainstream, let me tell you there's a future for this young woman as a musician. I can only imagine how much she's progressed in the five years since this was initially recorded, and I have no doubt that if she's not in a band already then she should be.
Why for hell people always ask her "do this" or "do that", smile, grin, shake your head or something ? That's her style to play, HER style, and she is not imitating something, and not playing to be somebody else, she is just herself when she plays, Thanks God ! I like it a lot how she does it, not listening to people who want to insinuate something to her.
Just by her hand movements and how confident she is in playing the song. The string bending. Everything. You can tell she is a kickass guitar player. And she banged off the solo like it was nothing. She can feel the music and that’s what shows the most. 10/10 guitar player right there.
Tout simplement incroyable ! WOW ! Quel talent ! Bravo et merci pour ce festin visuel et musical. J'aimerais tellement être un millième de fois aussi doué :)
This woman should be a worldwide hit! Instrumental, whichever label, is the only honest "reach into the heart". Loose the trite lyrics, reduce the backup, lift us to the heights!
Tina, where have you been all my life lol... Truly remarkable talent in you and it is really awesome to see a younger generation keeping the best alive. Nobody did it harder and faster better than Metallica!! I look forward to seeing more Metallica cover's from you, Great job!!!!
Man, she nails this so good! Imagine us old guys back in ‘86 when we were young hearing this for the first time! Along with Reign in Blood and Peace Sells…!!! What a great year!!!!
She was good in this, has probably gotten better but hardly a fill in to be honest. there were several mistakes in the song and in one spot she clearly tripped up (5:39). Hard song to play and for the age she was at doing it that was damn good.
A Mistress of Metal, I like it. The sound from her guitar is so RAW, unrefined but strong. Tbh, it is a very rare thing for me to hear a female shredding it up like this but I really like it. Its like, when a guy sees that a girl has an interest in something that he has, it is a point of attraction to him. It gives way to the possibility of a relationship blooming, in that regard. In my case, this video is a real gem, thx for this RAWSOME uploads, and stay safe out there during these turbulent times!
@Chonroy Vietnam and chen Wang last time I looked everyone says it's metal, the news, the documentary's and fans, but I don't know, Im very sure it's metal or well heavy metal
You are Superstar of guiter. I feel very happy whenever i see you are playing your guiter. You are so serious that will take you in a highest position in musical world.Hats off.
why the dislikes? I really don't see why.. maybe you all can play this better?? A like from me. this level of play deserves acknowledgment & appreciation of all the sweat and blood put into this.
She is better at steve vai style pieces. And of course anyone has ears can hear the mistakes -really significant ones- and it's enough to comment or disslike i guess. PLAYING BETTER IS ANOTHER ISSUE BRO. It's about talent, progress, time and practise. We here, youtube creatures can see god of the instruments on this platform. Even randomly haha..So dont be surprise. But girl is so cool and promising on the other hand.
