I've been watching a few of these metal covers of classical music and was just thinking it was the metal of it's time, they just didn't have electricity! 🤣
GOOD for you. There a guitarist... and there are REALLY GOOD guitarist, and IF I may say so....as I said there are Jimi Hendrik, Joe Satriani, Slash, and Tina S
Lol... I'm kinda drunk... so I don't know what to say, but I will say music is a universal language... most understand it, but some master it to the point of absurdity.
Imagine the jam sessions in the afterlife. Beethoven invites Gershwin over to his house for their weekly piano/harpsichord dual. Chopin, Mancini, Liszt, and Ellington are in their usual conservatory chairs, ready to act as judges. At the other end of the mansion, Vivaldi, Tchaikovsky, and Haydn are listening to Bach, Mozart, Armstrong, and Hendrix warm up in the drawing room. Joe leans over to ask Toni when Glenn is going to show up. Handel is in the corner with Ella and Aretha, newly inspired to write an oratorio for the two, and furiously scribbling away. Then the door opens and the whole room shouts "Neil!" as the Professor walks in. Jimi gives him a nod, but Satch says, "You're late," and points to his kit.
I watch this often. From time to time. When I feel like I need to be humbled in the existentialism of my own of existence. I play both piano and guitar. And as a pianist, I came close to playing this moonlight sonata 3rd movement. It was a realistic goal. But as a guitarist, this is a WHOLE OTHER LEVEL. one that I will never achieve. Not with endless lessons and practice. not with determined trying and tearful cursing and bleeding my fingers to the bone practicing. What Tina is able to do with such effortless grace and beauty is something ethereal. Something SUPER human. It is a gift, undeniable. And I’m a grateful being for having witnessed it.
If you don't believe you can achieve something... you WON'T. It's mindset. Stop being jealous... and PRACTICE. Just like Tina S. did. Practice gives you talent. It ain't magick. I had to practice my ass off to get my mixed voice back up to par and be able to hit a C#5 vocal again - now I'm aiming for F#5 and A6.
@@PersephoneSkye_ true words....ish. Like....if you are five foot 1 inches, it isn't likely you'll ever make pro basketball league. no matter how hard you practice and try, you'll always be five-1 and that just isn't a handicap you easily get over. It could well be that Tina has a level of dexterity that cannot be trained for. However, unlike the basketball metaphor, this also might not be so clear cut....but...I think...maybe... The issue is that you have to put time and practice in before you know...so...in that, I think you are right. Our friend Myluong may well have the natural dexterity and talent to do this with enough practice. I'm guessing, maybe...skip piano (unless you like it more), focus on guitar and try it. I'm sure no one showed Tina how to play Beethoven on a guitar, which is nightmarish to consider. She had to figure out how to do it herself. While she looks like she's doing a hammer pull trill, I do think I see the pick in that technique, which isn't very common. i could be wrong, but Myluong is right. I've never seen finger positioning like that, and I'm not exactly what else she's doing apart from maybe sometimes picking. Maybe it's just a really complex hammer trill, but I don't think so. It looks like she had to adapt her own technique to pull it off. The point is, Myluong may actually be capable of doing this, but she won't ever know unless she puts in like....maybe...another five to ten years of focusing entirely on the guitar.... Which seems to be the point of her post...not that she's self defeatist, but that she recognizes how much more difficult this is to play on the guitar than the piano. Also also... Not everyone can do what everyone else can. Apart from skill and work, there are physical requirements to playing any instrument, and not everyone is physically optimized for every instrument. This isn't philosophy, it's just a fact. Some people are just put together in all the right ways to play certain instruments. Can practice overcome that? Maybe...to a point...But it'll take MUCH more practice to overcome it. on the other hand...Def Leppards drummer lost an arm and is one of the best drummers in the world. I think the issue is, we all only have about 70 to 90 years in life to "get good at stuff", so...yes...likely, with enough practice Myluong may well be able to do this... ...if she doesn't do anything else for a while. And she may well want to do things more important to her than piano or guitar. It is unfair to call out a civilian poster like that, especially when they are clearly just giving due credit.
Not sure why RU-vid recommended this to me 6 years after it was posted but as a 50 some year old person who lived through the greatest rock soloists careers of all time I was left speechless by this.
More than witty...that is a riot!!!😊 It's because of people like her I don't even take mine of the case anymore. But we all have different gifts👍 (just have to find them)!
As a classically trained pianist, with the 3rd movement of Moonlight Sonata being my 'signature piece' by around 10 years old, I am completely blown away at the precision, speed, and tastefulness at which this version is performed. If only I could go back in time and have studied guitar instead of piano.... sigh
@@perthyren601 give me six months to practice then I'm up for it! I think Beethoven would've approved of this too: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FhNd1RKxEqU.html
Why does she HAVE to learn the violin. You can play any kind of music on whatever damn instrument you damn well like. Omg 100% closed minded. If everyone thought like you, we would still be living in caves and using bone tools. 😂
That was truly amazing as it was beautiful!! Classical music played on a guitar (especially with overdrive/distortion) sounds so awesome! This lady just destroys it, nailing every note! Geez, its splendor made me want to cry! Wow. Just WOW!
@thereisnochoiceleft one hundred percent agreed. No music is effortless. I'm pretty sure if someone asks her how she feels about this piece. She'll definitely say she's proud of her work but at this point she probably hates it. I can play a few pieces by Beethoven and Mozart. I'm proud of it. But now I kinda hate them.
I don't think she memorized it (I can be wrong). Some people play music in the same way as a native English speaker speaks English most often without knowing the exact grammar.
@@vedantdesai1 "definitely practices 40 hours a day!" While she was attending school full-time. Plus, a number of other activities, I'd guess. A remarkable, highly-motivated young woman.
@@0ParisFrance, I hope u speak English. Well, to tell u the truth, I already knew her; but I haven't been watching it, the channel, for some years; I just remembered her because of Nando Moura's video about Tina and after some hours of been watching this.
Well, it IS true that most pieces of classical music are just as heavy or even heavier than metal. It's no wonder that the 2 genres can be fused so beautifully.
They are certainly called great composers for a reason. Music of these composers are extraordinary. If only Mr Beethoven himself was able to hear that young lady today ...
Beethoven was the best metal composer without knowing it. That's were you understand that mastering the secrets of harmony and being a melodic genius will always win. Tina's work is really amazing. Ludwig would be proud of her.
*If* I could even play this, it would only be about 40 seconds before my right hand falls off from the lactic acid build-up. Or possibly explodes. I have no idea which one. This player has a lot of endurance.
To the people saying she has no style of her own: she is very early in her musical journey and will develop a style with time. You can't expect her to already have a fully developed style at 17 years old, that's ludicrous. Her technical skills are extraordinary and will surely blossom into a unique and equally as extraordinary style. And she's a better guitarist than 99% of all the people watching the video so we can only imagine where she will be in 15 or 20 years.
Nicholas McCallon everyone has their own style at any point when they start to play guitar. No one has ever seen her just play something that SHE has written. Maybe she hasn't written anything but if she did, that would be an execution of her own "style" wouldn't it?
xPBKM4x what I meant when I made that comment was when someone who has been playing guitar(well) for many years plays a song, they change it to suit their style. When Hendrix is playing, most people who've listened to him know who's playing because of his distinctive style. When you hear SRV, you know it's SRV. When you hear insane slap picking, Flea comes to mind. What I'm saying is her method (style) of playing is a precise, classical technique, which makes sense because she started on classical guitar from a young age. Yes she has a style ,of course, but her style isn't a unique style that's hers and hers only.
also full credit to WHAT songs she's listening to/learning ... _not many_ 17yo's will devote the time required to learning a complex classic like Beethoven, seriously she's on another level man and anyone who criticizes her is oozing jealousy, and perhaps confronted because a 17yo girl is making their own guitarwork look ordinary. R'n'fn'R
What's most impressive is that you can tell she gets the music internally just from seeing how she reacts to each phrase. Lots of pianists miss out on that. They're either stiff from trying to impress or rigidly conforming to score scribbles. Interesting style will surely develop after experiencing and experiments with many others. As for another level...this is essentially a passionate arpeggio exercise. Check out a complex Bach fugue on guitar. Probably the hardest thing to do with the same energy as this video. Almost no one can touch that stuff (from what I've seen on yt so far).
A beautiful human. A beautiful instrument and a beautiful piece. Not a single note was missed. Thank you for your contribution to a beautiful classical piece. Very well done
This should make it clear that Beethoven, Bach, et al, really were the rock stars of their time and with interpretations of their music like this, they are stars in our lifetime too. Greatness is eternal.
Ok wtf...she's a MACHINE! She literally could not have performed this better, not 1 sour note, not even 1, absolutely perfect timing throughout, every note rings loud, clear and true. Tina impresses me more than any guitarist I've ever heard, and I've been playing for 20 years, I am just so blown away I'm almost at a loss for words. I've watched this video several times trying to find even one thing I could say for constructive criticism and all I can say is to maybe show more emotion and to not make it look so damn easy! This song is a serious finger workout on both hands, and I bet she could have kept playing this song over and over again back to back without breaking a sweat. She is incredibly gifted, I would love to hear some original compositions from her. I hope she never stops playing, talent like this deserves to be heard and appreciated.
@@slow_but_lower1408 yep... but this piece is a masterpiece... and I have only heard Dr Viossi (who created it) and Tina S performing it flawlessly. Which is NOT a statement against other extremely talented guitar players, or even a comparison... there are many amazing talents, doing different things.
I appreciate the complexity of the piece and the mastery of the instrument. That's a lot of notes to process, remember, and play. It's faster than I can mentally follow, so my brain throbs after a while.
May I preface with, I applaud your extraordinary talent. Wow! I am an old woman and I’ve listened to this piece more than almost any other and thus far, exclusively on piano. To say that I was blown away is no modest statement. Your talent shows with how deftly you performed this piece. You did Beethoven justice and presented it beautifully with your electric guitar. Thank you for presenting to these old eyes and ears a new variation on a old piece. 😃
@@jfreebird8042 Just because she doesn't have expression on her face doesn't mean that she isn't passionate, or feeling the music or is lacking a connection with the piece that she's playing. She expresses herself enough through her technique
As pessoas que deram deslik nesse video provavelmente não conseguem tocar nem 10% dessa música. São um bando de pessoas frustradas e invejosas. Pronto falei!!!!!

Not to forget: god made Beethoven completely deaf, and said to him : "So lets see, what you make now !!" ... and then Beethoven wrote the 9th symphony, missa solemnis, etc .. against all the mobbing and laughs he get in his days from the society. Even today there are lots of jokes about his deafness. For me Beethoven was the biggest composer ever lived. Most people only knows the "rude" compositions from him, like 5. Symphony , or the "majestic" 9. Symphony. But he has a lot of composings besides that, whith different moods , colors... some of them: modern like a movie-score for a batman-movie or a love-movie ... others sounds like Haydn - conventional. A lot of them are also very very soft... or like a playful kindergarden-song. There are also compositions which sounds romantic like Chopin,...or melancholic like Debussy... Or for the church like Bach. Beethoven simply could compose everything, every style. Most of the Metalers who wants to say : "Beethoven was a metaller of the 18.-19. century" dont know a shit about Beethoven. He wasnt "fixed" into one style, like every metal band is. Beethoven could be everything. That was his magic. Not the music told him, what he could be. He told the music, what music can be.
@@Ashriga She probably had to go off to college. She's probably applying her brain power to something that actually earns money. It's hard to make big money being a virtuoso guitar player.
@@TheSilmarillian Not born talent, sure she naturally has fine motor skills and quick thinking, otherwise you can never play it, but the rest is all hard work trust me, repeating over and over till it becomes second nature.
@ExiLeZH correct. Talent is needed, but the drive to geep practicing is just as important. That said, I have to say I don't like it. It has what some Chinese musicians also have. An enormous vituosity, but musicality not so much.
@@MrKakatoe I don't see the problem with a strong work ethic to develop great technical skills, however that doesn't guarantee the development of creative skills aswell ofcourse. Creativeness is indeed an example of born talent and is hardly trainable. Anyways, a problem that many of these super dedicated (Chinese) musicians have is that they focus too much at speed, but still suck at basic techniques like bends and vibrato's. These techniques shouldn't be underestimated as they really are the core of a great sound and what people consider to be emotion in one's play. These skills are actually extremely hard to master and once you do you have the ability to indistinguishably sound like other great musicians and have the ability to develop your own unique sound that other people like, which also again requires creativity.
I've tried to trace all of her social media, looks like she doesn't have personal/official instagram, and there is no updates on FB and twitter since 2016. We literally have no any information about what she's doing right now. It just so weird she just stopped uploading video, even all of her social media (FB & Twitter) did the same thing, never give any news to her fans. @@lintangkusumandaru7534 There were... probably even still are... many people who criticised her about her playstyle -> not showing enought "emotions" while playing bla bla... There are so many people living in this world who just said that she was faking her videos or at least speeding them up because the vids seemed to be unnatural or "her hair was behaving unnatural" as u can read in the comments of her Through the Fire and Flames cover... One more comment on top of thousands, but as a kid I remember trying to learn to play the original composition on piano, hundreds of hours, and never getting anywhere close to proficient. Listened to a podcast a year or so ago where I think they sampled you and said Beethoven may have been the first heavy-metal composer, and thinking to myself “God that’s why I always loved this piece!” Just knowing this recording exists is a treasure. This has brought joy to my soul in the middle of some really dark times, just knowing that some human being somewhere took as much joy in hearing Beethoven as I always did, and I believe divined his intent from the ether Similarly, but actually put in the diligence to fully realize it… It’s the essence of magic, it’s electrifying, I have to see if you sell a copy of your audio on iTunes because I want to on this forever.
most metal guitar players I have met in my 55 years doing music are classically trained in technique and theory. I think the only other person that does the Infamous Third of MS, however, is her tutor.
Beethoven is #1. His music is so dynamic, it adapts well to electric guitar. I also love J .S. Bach. and would love to hear Tina play some of the Brandenburg Concertos. She has an eclectic range of musical tastes and I love it. The variety of the pieces she plays shows her great talent and adaptability. My favorite guitarist!!
Amazing! My 2 year old daughter came over to see what the sound was. After a couple minutes, she went into another room to get her toy guitar and started strumming along!
this young woman played more notes in 6 min than I did in my 20 years of playing… my freaking goodness… Tina, you are awesome- beyond incredible awesome
She is phenomenal Why have i never heard of her before? I just looked her up she is a prodigy, at age 6 she was playing at an adult level. Savant like musical abilities. She was 17 when she did this.

I found this by accident. As a guitarist who used to be very good, I can say she’s lightyears ahead of me at my absolute best. I probably also speak for every other honest guitarist who has commented. I searched to see where she was now and she’s vanished. It could be that the negativity here and elsewhere got to her -often with super high achievers, just one negative comment wipes out 1,000 positive ones. My advice if so: - take the majority verdict which is the comments here - as the rest of the comments aren’t authentic - there are always going to be washed up talentless failed old guitarists and their jealous girlfriends, and none of them can play this. If not and you just wanted a change, enjoy life, come back when you want to and maybe show people like Nita Strauss that kind of speed when you get a spare second. I’m always dismayed about humanity when the vultures descent on such rare talent - I thought this was quite brilliant!
She definitely proved she can play, she probably just plys on her free time nd has been 3 years since the last upload she probably plays on her freetime but has left youtube or forgotten although the 9k dislikes were probably due to pure jealousy because people are couch potatos she has probaly has a nice job and working on somthing else but who know she can randomly come back

My first time watching and listening I was impressed also. Now I just listen for the marvelous musical masterpiece and the a dose of endorphin bliss that follows.
I might have watched more than 100 times. But what amazes me is how in control she is with the piece and the instrument while playing it live. For ex: Pickup selector changes at 0:56, 1:19, 2:05 (right in time for the squeal), 2:28, tone adjustment at 2:30 etc while playing a piece that's very complex and technical. Hopefully she comes back with some more music at some stage

She could sell out Wembley and she surely knows it. And she would have if she'd have wanted to. Alas it's highly unlikely she will grace us with her majesty and talent again. But we can be grateful for the legacy she left.
Inspiring. I am in my 70s and have played guitar for most of my life. This lady is inspiring me to go even further in my pursuit of total guitar satisfaction. I am amazed that there are times when she even looks a little bored, this is so routine for her. What an amazing talent.
@pf008 The only thing I can think of, is that maybe she went off to college, and doesn't have time for posting videos due to her studies. Just a guess.
