Metallica - Orion (live in Auckland, NZL 2010) 

Lars is a phenomenal drummer. The people who say he isn't is the people who usually only like the drummers who double bass a thousand miles an hour through a song. Lars proved he can do that (Dyers Eve, for example), but the thing about Lars is he realiezes he doesn't need to do that in order to have a bad ass metal song. Lars knows the melody of the song, and when the song needs. Sixth highest selling artist of all time, nobody can say he sucks. One of my personal favorites.

Call me silly, but this brought tears to my eyes, Robert, you are awesome. Cliff, you will never be forgotten.

The tone is SOOOOOOOOOOOO incredibly good. Like this sounds like it was straight off Puppets. Hopefully they kept these guitars for most of the show.

I must say I really do like Robert he has the knack and works well with the band. Thank god for Robert, and rest in peace to Cliff. Bob did him justice and credit is definitely due.

I love how this song is so simple but yet so powerful and easily one of my favorite songs of all time and also one of my favorite songs to play; even though I play guitar I have to say that Cliff Burton has been a great influence on me and may he rest in peace.

This is the best song ever, that bass solo at the end makes me cry for some reason, and man I havent cried like I dunno how many years... Thanks Cliff, and thanks Rob for perfect performance.

I love how there's a pause and Lars hands over the stage to Rob. Every time this is played, they are paying a homage to Cliff, and I dont think they could have a better bassist leading the tribute. Magnificent guys!

remember when this album came out when I was in highschool..guys were going crazy at how good it was. This tune is still one of the best instrumentals of all time.

I also saw tihs live. It was recently, in Rock in Rio- 2011. It was a great moment, when guys stoped headbanging and the moshpits and just keep staring at the stage, like they're blessed to be hearing and watching this instrumental masterpiece!

Whenever Rob first plays the opening riff it's as if the spirit of Cliff Burton is like in him, and playing, it makes me tear up. Fantastic job by Rob for sure!

I respect Jason for re-arranging the parts in Ktulu and Orion in honour of Cliff, accepting that Cliff is the master. But I find more respect in Rob for playing Cliff's lines, and making Cliff more alive then ever.

I don't know why there's so much hate on Rob , while I do admit nobody can replace Cliff , Robert is as close as it gets. He is an awesome bass player and his stage presence is absolutely amazing, really brings metallica back to life.

This song has a holy aura around, its just magical.

I didnt even know some of that solo was Cliff until I saw this song played live. And Ive been listening to these guys since 1988. He definately was ahead of his time as a Bassist. Cliff plus James equals magic.

The first concert i ever saw was Metallica in Detroit rock city in 1986 when they were touring with Ozzy on the puppetts tour. I saw Cliff play this then and watching Robert play it now Cliff would be proud. There both amazing bass players and deserveded of everyones respect.
