Jerry wrote most of Alice's Music, even today he does. Jerry is the soul of Alice In Chains, you may disagree with me but it's cold hard fact. Jerry wrote most of the Music while Layne wrote most lyrics but Jerry has a beautiful voice to harmonize, I still think Jerry is the master since he is the soul of Alice.

Awe metallica wants to do an unplugged like their idols, Alice in chains. Too bad. They get an e for effort tho, can't duplicate the greatest show ever.

I am a fan of Metallica. However I am not blind. It's sad to watch this really. It's entirely obvious that everyone in that room perceives Metallica to be a joke. Sure they were great once but they have fallen, and as they founder about - seemingly unaware of their demise - they are entertainment for the masses. However James is sober, and seems to really be enjoying himself. If he can get the rest straight, and someone would tell them no every once in a while. then maybe they'd get somewhere.

Here is an even better notion. Why is this conversation only about Metallica and no one else? Also, you can go anywhere you want in RU-vid. It is not fed to you like TV. So you have to come here to say these things about Metallica. That means Metallica is their favorite band after all. Whether they realize it or not!!!

I saw the comments about the gum. I have heard that he has quit smoking so maybe that's the reason. Personally I think it looks a bit cool. I mean if you can smoke on stage when you sing and play - because have never heard any objection against that before - so why not chewing a gum.

Most of the complainers are new fans who try to get cred by mouthing off, or were not a fan in the 80s and wished they lived through the classic era. I have lived and breathed classic Metallica for what 30 years now, and now I am digging the new stuff. I am sorry those people were born to late to enjoy it when it was new, but I want to hear what Metallica is doing next, not do a rehash of Justice. As long is it is heavy, well played and does not have the word Load in it, I am happy!

Every album they've done sounds a bit different than the last. Load sounds NOTHING like Ride the Lightning and ...And justice for all sounds different than the Black album, it's called music. If they stayed the same forever, they'd get old real quick. Metallica's a legacy for a reason, and it ain't for being stagnant.

Funny true story...At my wedding in 2005 my wife and I were supposed to do our first dance. It was supposed to be an Eric Clapton song. It started to play and then bllurrrp Nothing Else Matters from S and M came on. I thought my wife had played a joke on me and she thought I'd payed the DJ to do it. I'm a huge Metallica fan and anyone who knows me knows it. My family kept asking me if that was on purpose. The DJ didn't know what happend and to this day we still don'tk know.

@metalikaz Yes, I was mistaken. I was thinking of that footage of James playing it by himself on the Year and Half DVD. Anyway, I think he SHOULD play the intro because it's his song. Kirk never played a note on the actual recording.
