METAZOO (SCAM) IS FINALLY DEAD! 

Metazoo dug their own grave. After the Kickstarter, before Nightfall released, they cancelled thousands of preorders in favor of LGS distribution, then canceled all those orders in favor of influencer distribution. They literally did everything to keep it out of players hands and appease the flipping market out of greed.

Any card company that gets its growth and reputation through hype of investment instead of its playability and lore is eventually going to fail.

So sad...my daughter was an artist for MZ and now her dream was destroyed. And she is only 5 years old...

MetaZoo was a pump and dump meme from the start. Anyone who lost money deserved it for thinking they were going to make money on something comparable to an NFT in marketing, hype and play. LOL.

If Mike and Andy focused on their game instead of pushing their girlfriends art career’s maybe they’d last another week.

I can't even be sad or mad. It's valuation been off the rocks since day one, major red flag. Too many promos/collab while having extremely niche player base and the entry point for beginners is like playing into classic MtG. ZERO official promotions by the actual company, except by non-paid content creators (who let's be real, obviously some are trying to pump the value to be the next Pokemon.) Art is subjective but man, it's like hiring Chris-chan to make OCs for cryptids. The official Discord is/was a shitshow - it's Mike's way or the highway. The community thrives in an echo chamber - any criticism are labelled as bigoted haters. The games is literally made for speculators, NOT actual people playing. It's funny seeing these Metazoo 'fans' who cheered when the 1st dip hit claiming they will HODL and buy the dip, Metazoo will go to the moon but when Metazoo actually releasing an official exit strategy statement - all of these 'diehard fans' scrambling on eBay to dump their stocks.

Metazoo felt like a tangential crypto scam using the same hype practices. The art definitely did not help

Reminds me of crypto/nft gaming where the game is a vehicle for investment rather than a fun game to play.

Im gonna pick some of the decks to play seeing as they are now dirt cheap and play with them. Game seems like it can be fun just dont want to deal with any nft nonsense

What do you guys think about Altered TCG that just launched on Kickstarter? Do you think its evolving to something collectible? I fear with the company owned trading system, foil upgrade system and the QR shenanigans its kind of a red flag to me?

I never understood the hype and totally knew it was just a crash grab. I'm interested to see if this affects other tcg Kickstarters. I know it's not the first one to fail but the way it did definitely feels like a punch in the face to all those who invested into it

I cancelled my Rudy Patreon account because of all his pumping and dumping of this crap. Now he seems to be going back to his roots with magic, and he’s blocked me so I can’t re-subscribe to his account. Now whatever Rudy is pumping to sell, I buy the opposite!!

Never bothered with the game, you said "The artwork looks awful." Went online to see and OMG, you weren't kidding. Even "New Era G All Stars" looks great compared to that!

I bought a booster box Meta Zoo Nightfall for $15 just to see what the hype was, feel sorry for people who paid $100+ for the same thing awhile back.

Chronicles of Arcane is a new TCG about to come out. Metazoo artists are going there.

Mike is a big man child. He would talk crap about people on his discord. I remember seeing someone's screen shot of them asking Mike about when he would get his product that he never received and mike was a total d about it. Then Mike making very bad decisions and the hello kitty deal was the final nail. Honestly Mike should be in jail for what he's done to people. Very suspicious since day one. Even heard about him printing more Kickstarter stuff to basically make more money.

It was easy to see why Metazoo was canceled. But I wonder what your take is with other "new" TCGs like Sorcery and One Piece.

I agree with a majority of the sentiment and points you mentioned in your video, but I'm a tad confused about why you are adding digs at Rudy for selling MetaZoo products and using MetaZoo promo cards as rewards. You even said yourself that he probably acquired most of these things for free and thought of ways of getting them off his hands - so what's the problem exactly? He was selling many different types of TCG and not just the one you subjectively liked at the time. He's a businessman (that's, quite literally, his job TO make money). There may have always been unclear questions about MetaZoo's direction, but that doesn't mean that he didn't (at least at the time) believe in the TCG or think there was something there. Many people liked the idea and thought it could really become something - it's too bad it ended the way it did and it's a real shame. Let me know if I'm missing something - I'm open to hearing a different perspective or having a correction on a fact /or missing information.

I never trusted Metazoo or Fab, but I probably would have bought a box or 2 for fun. I don't think the M cards will have $0 value, I think it would be kinda neat to get a few boxes if they crash. Bad investment? Yes. But I like the art on them.

I have a lot of thoughts on Metazoo and I've commented a lot on other channels about it. With that being said, I love your sweater!

Thought Nightfall was good but something just seemed off (dont really keep up with the company like others), so did not buy anymore, then Wilderness came out etcetc. No warm n fuzzy feelings no matter what CCs tried to push. As a fan of Metazoo I would like you to do even the tiniest bit of research before you say things about it and saying you don't think its apart of the tcg world.

Such a shame, an incredible concept/idea definitely didn't need to collapse/turn scam.. With the gameplay of YuGiOh(the Show) combined with Magic, it definitely had potential.. Not to mention legit physical Artwork, and framed/bordered card design compared to the Full-Art fads of this era.. Though this will probably keep the TCG market under a raincloud for a while (especially KS's), there are some interesting TCGs still giving it a shot.. Chronicles of Arcane i'd say looks to have the most potential.. 🤌Classic style.. 🃏
