Interesting because Metformin is a 'standard' treatment for Type 2 diabetes so here in the UK where almost 10% of drug expenditure is directed towards Diabetes, there will be a lot of people already on this medication.

I saw a YT video about the toxicity of Metformin. I think it was a 60 Minutes segment, but not sure? After years & years of taking it, I felt like I was indeed being poisoned by it. I stopped taking it for a couple of years. Now I’m back on it. Idk if it has anti-aging benefits, but I take it to help control my Type 2 diabetes. If there are bonus effects to taking it “Great!”, if not, than so be it. To be honest, I don’t really feel any better/younger while taking it, but maybe it works on a more cellular level to help slow the aging process, idk? I have heard of doctors prescribing it to those with Syndrome X. HBP, high cholesterol, & borderline diabetes. They say it can help prevent full blown diabetes if taken early along with diet modification. I’ve also heard that women with fertility issues have taken it to help them conceive a child. I think it helps with fertility when the woman has PCOS which are small cysts on the ovaries. Insulin signaling along with other hormones, plays a very important role in the ability to conceive. Best wishes to all those facing these auto immune conditions, that can be so detrimental to one’s overall health!🙏”Health is your wealth!” as they say.

@Ahmad-ww4ue

And why should we take that into consideration when assessing our chances of living longer? If you don't to live longer, by all means don't! Euthanasia is a thing. To each their own mate.
@royzlatanestevez9843
@royzlatanestevez9843 2 года назад
@@Ahmad-ww4ue There's obviously no reason for you to do that as long as these treatments are not one-shot irreversible alterations - and it doesn't look like they will be. If anything, the people who this could be addressed to would be the scientists in the field. It's obviously illusory that they will take this into consideration or that there's even a viable research path to what I'm proposing, but the alternative I would - personally - like would be to stay physically and mentally, say, 20-30 until the end of a normal lifespan. "Euthanasia" doesn't exactly help with that and is a facetious supposition in the first place, because suicide is a far more onerous option than letting life run its course. It does sound good as a theoretical argument on paper though, which tells me that you are probably in your late teens or early 20s.

I’m thinking a lot of this is hype, sponsored by the drug company. It’s possible, but metformin is not a super drug.

the drug is so cheap, been around 60+ years. the drug companies won't make any money. That's the problem. Any thing that works people believe has to cost lots of money. People take all kinds of vitamins and not has ever proven anything about them. Read the vitamin bottles.

I didn't know research was "hype". At what point was it said in this video that they have the cure. They have a hypothesis, as in a scientific question to be answered.

The earth is round was utter nonsense at one time also. We all agree it's not flat. Let these people test it. Right now millions of t2DM are taking it for many years. People are spending billion$$ on vitamins today, where is the proof they work?
