Follow the money......there's no profit in a cure for cancer. There is profit in 'anti-aging' technology.

I have said this before, they dont want to cure cancer. Trillions get invested to cancer research each year and still zero progress they are making too much money from it insurance companies and hospitals and those faceless men that own the hospitals and insurance companies are making so much money it isn't even funny. Also even if they did release a cure none of us can afford it because big companies will ensure they can keep milking their cash cow which is us.

We've been able to reverse cancer and other diseases for some time now, though we can't cure it just like we'll never cure aging.

True, this would most likely cure most diseases eventually.

I was 15, the first time I saw a scientist claim they might be able to cure aging. I'm 62 now. I wouldn't hold my breath. I'd say, from a practical and personal pov, if someone DID actually cure aging, they'd have to keep it quiet. I suspect political forces would stop it otherwise. I don't believe info like this, primarily because its so public. Smoke and mirrors. Make people think you're fixing it, but you're not.

When I meant 10 to 15 years, i meant that technology will start to revolutionize the way we make medicine, scan diseases more accurately, prolong life expectancy and improve cell regeneration more efficiently etc etc . but reverse aging? too early for that and yeah reverse aging will only be a thing for special research and a selected few, society cannot have it because it will create instability everywhere. it's too dangerous for the common population. but you, the young generation are still very lucky, you will live in era of abundant ever increasing science and technological research. Each modern generation's life expectancy in 1st world countries is increasing exponentially due to those factors.

Oh, I'm sure it it'll be expensive, at least at first. But remember that medical treatments do have a habit of lowering in cost over time, and I absolutely want to see generic versions that are widely accessible. I don't think it's as simple as "boo capitalism" - the problem is when any economic model isn't kept sufficiently in check.

Natural is not automatically better; if we went all-natural, we'd succumb to disease and injuries decades before we usually do (early humans had a life expectancy of 20-30 years). I don't give pharmaceutical and other medical firms a free pass, but they still generally conduct sound research. Don't oppose something simply because it's mainstream or profit-driven; use your critical thinking skills. You can support synthetic treatments like this AND natural products, so long as they're supported by real, peer-reviewed science.

@@morganlake41632 The way our brain works is natural so yes, anything that comes out of it is also natural. Furthermore, an authentic life doesn't also have to be a short one. Do you go to the doctor when you're sick or benefit in any way from medicine? If so, do you consider that unnatural?

Wow such optimism! If we make it on this planet another 20-30 years, do you really believe anti-aging treatment will be made available to the masses? What happens if it’s not? Can you see any downsides to an ever-burgeoning population of elderly people with fit, young bodies? Or is it just “woohoo let’s conquer the galaxy!” Realistically, I think people who get the treatment will want an extended life of leisure rather than boarding spaceships bound for the cold, radioactive far reaches of space.
