I’ve been big fan of guru but never noticed these before. I love all tackle by guru I.E hooks line feeders bait tubs with strainers bombs and now PVA. My favourite line is drag line had it on my reels ages now 8lb bs. And had big doubles through weed and snags not one breakage. But love also Korum rods. So everything I need two top company’s.
Great idea, I just bought some of the guru feeders but couldnt see the clips in the shop. I'll just use a no8 shot instead for now. Thanks for the idea mate!
I love guru but I rarely use the flat bed ones I use the hybrid ones there brilliant the big ones on my carp rod and the small ones on my method feeder rod ive got 2 guru moulds a large one and a small one in bright orange so you can never loose tight lines wet landing nets.
Jamie Hughes has recently suggested placing a No 10 shot approx 1 cm from the hook so that the wafter doesn’t jump off the pile of micros but stays just on top of them. Much cheaper than buying these clips.
guru is the onliest company that tries to make things more complicated than they are... a shot 10 will do the job perfectly, without bothering of clipping every single cast... omg
That's assuming your bait is perfectly lying around your feeder and you fish in a 1 foot fish tank. More likely than not your bait would be a bit more spread out by current, landing position...i.e on slopes and fish generally wafting you bait around due to movement and mouthing. Most carp just ignorantly hoover up the overpriced grub anyway.
And if the feeder lands in thick weed, what then! If the bait is popped up from the end of the feeder, it will work just the same, you can use a shorter line or split shot to vary the height of the pop up. So the clip makes no difference IMO.
Alltackledup I suppose they have to be weed free for the punters. ;) I can't find this info anywhere, do you know what breaking strain the elastic is on the X safe?
Alltackledup Thanks, I had an idea they might not be strong enough for the heavy weights, not that I am going to catch one anytime soon, but you never know.
Basically 😃 a good video but as said before, the clips only useful for pop ups. For wafters you critically balance the hook and bait eg size 12 to 8mm wafter. You don’t need the clip then. I personally don’t use pop ups on Guru method feeders, buy maybe worth a shot!
@@Alltackledup My bad ,mate,i meant the HOOK bait! I was replying to the affirmation that balancing the hook with the bait is enough. The hook is not over the feeder most of the times,it moves out,if you don t use a clip,or some other tricks. When you manage to keep the hook over the feeder, you get baits quicker. Tight lines!
