VladTV.com - Method Man and Jonah Hill, stars of "The Sitter," name their favorite rappers of all time. Do you agree? Interview By: Tashion Folkes Video Editor: Jai Nima Idowu
i once saw Camron's top 5 rappers and he said Big L of course because they're from the same hood. I know Big L didn't have enough mainstream because of his death. He died on that day when he was about to sign that rockafella deal and start to expose himself and be recognized in the hip hop world. Tons of props to Jonah Hill, he knows his shit.
So what you actin for you aint half as raw you need to practice more, somebody tell this kid son before i smack his jaw, you runnin with boys im runnin with men imma be rippin the mic til im 110 have these niggas like damn this nigga dun done it again
he said it so pretentious snobs like you would think hes great because hes insecure. IN reality guru was probably Eminem for jonah but he didnt wanna say that cus white and cus in 21 jump street his character is a slim shady fan freak.
i was shocked when he said Big L and Guru. i didn't hear no other rapper mentioning their name. I know Big L didn't have enough mainstream because of his passing. He died on that day when he was about to sign that rockafella deal and start to expose himself and be recognized in the hip hop world. Tons of props to Jonah Hill.
I'm sure there are a lot of people will find it odd, but the rapper I enjoy listening to the most is Mos Def. He's usually forgotten in these lists... unjustly in my opinion.
Balling Like Choji Because she hardly put out any music. One dope Fugees album where she was doing 1/3 of the verses, and one dope solo album that was maybe like 30% rapping. Lauryn was great, but there's just not enough verses there.
Yeah. i NEVER heard no other rappers mentioning him. I know Big L didn't have enough mainstream because of his death. He died on that day when he was about to sign that rockafella deal and start to expose himself and be recognized in the hip hop world. But other rappers not mentioning him is not good.
I would just put Wu Tang as a group instead of GFK, but that's just me. One strong point of GFK's albums was RZA's incredible production. But that's a dope list!
Aminoff The Don Thats cuz you heard just Ironman.. Try to listen to Apollo Kids LP, Supreme Clientel, Fishscale, 36 Seasons, The Brown Tape, More Fish, Wu-Massacre
***** .. I swear the hatred certain people have for Eminem. Truly a tinted opinion, without any facts to back it up. Eminem is one of the greatest lyricists ever to bless the microphone, period. ... I swear people hate anything that becomes ''famous'' - even if it is good material.
deejaydistraktion Well, I am an open minded individual who listens to mostly all types of music but Hip Hop has always been my favorite genre, due to the fact that I rap myself. I listen to truly underrated artists such as Nyck Caution, Dillon Cooper, The Underachievers etc. ... With that being said, Eminem is still my favorite emcee of all time. I agree with you. I never liked Relapse and Recovery as albums - and I love his oldschool material the most. I even felt as if he had lost it, till I listened to Marshall Mathers LP 2. Listen to tracks such as ''Brainless'' , ''Baby'' , ''Evil Twin'' & ''Legacy'' ... I am just being honest right now. Just try to listen to those records with an open mind. Everyone changes. But everyone has different opinions too which I respect.
Those records are awful cant stand anything of his past encore, i thought encore was funny and had few tracks i liked but past 04 eminem is trash. Mmlp2 trash, relapse trash, recovery trash, his new yelling voice and style is wack as fuck, seeing that monster video i wish the old eminem that he claims was a monster was back instead of this annoying yelling robotic fuck. Makes me think eminem is a clone
***** ''Trash'' ? .. A little stretch. Well that is an opinion opposed to a fact. ... If you honestly believe in that theory about Eminem being replaced by a clone .. Damn. Then you are not the most intelligent individual which means that most of your opinions are honestly invalid.
for me its. 1 Eminem (not cause hes white, i like his older shit and ive been a fan for a long ass time) 2 Biggie 3 JayZ 4 Mobb Deep (yes i know they're 2 different people) 5 (technically 6) Big L

Tyler the Creator 5.) Andre 3000/Ice Cube Honorable mentions: Vince Staples, Chance the Rapper, Redman, Del the Funky Homosapien, Logic, J. Cole, Jay Z
1. Bill Cosby 2. James Earl Jones 3. Richard Pryor 4. Morgan Freeman 5. Urkel Judging by most of the lists on here, I decided to compile a random list of famous Black people.
chris schulz You named 3 more fake mainstream people lol, rather it be on a political level or a Hollywood level. I mean you could at least throw in Martin Luther King, Coretta Scott King, Rosa Parks, Malcolm X etc....... People who had a voice and made changes in the world. Self made people not bought out constituents.
1. 2Pac 2. Rakim 3. Slick Rick 4. Eminem 5. DMX Sticky Fingaz, Nas, Big L, Big Pun, Big Daddy Kane, Method Man, AZ, Guru, Jadakiss, LL Cool J, Ludacris, Redman, Ice Cube, Kool G Rap, Krayzie Bone Too hard to make a top five but I tried...
@@LITMOVIESCENES You're stupid. Those right there are the greatest lyricist you can have. Who you consider better than those? Don't tell me Jay Z please.
@@fernandopulido4232 eminem fucking sucks noone but chumpslisten to that lol..rakim is ehh...ive heard every track hes ever done multiple times...his solo albums are ehh...and his eric b and rakim albums arent 5 micc classics besides maybe the 1st..the rest are just ok...gurus def better..G rap is king bc nas mobb deep etc stole his style...so yea my list i stick with
No kool g rap No rakim No Pun No Scarface No Ghost Face No Keith No KRS No Doom No Kane I can tell, u didnt study enough u lean more on the commercial success than on the culture i think so because u put Eminem on 1, i like this dude and respect ur Opinion but ur hell wrong. Greetings
@@Lubenica224 you dont need to listen 6 million different artist just to enjoy music besides its his list. Stop bitching just cause he didn't listed your favorite artist. Guys like you are the reason Hip-Hop fans gets labelled corny because nobody respects other peoples taste
I totally agree! Of course people disagree but lyrics aren't the only component. I don't think Jay-Z is the most lyrical, but he is clever and great with not trying to hard, he is really witty and his mic presence on the track is phenomenal. he is so well rounded. Jay,Pac,B.I.G, Nas (who use to be my favorite), Rakim, Scarface, Kanye, and Jay Elec to me in my opinion are some of the greatest I've heard .
Pharoahe monch from Organized Konfusion gets overlooked i think, Percee P aswell, Treach from Naughty by Nature, Big Pun, the list really does go on and on. Personally i think picking a top 5 is impossible
@Dante Bottini , its so easy for me 2 say that u just started listening to Hip Hop not to long ago, Jonah hill is probably the only guy from Hollywood i know that has mentioned the names "GURU" & "Big L", who are 2 of the most Elite MC's ever to touch the Microphone, Peace
big l and guru? not bad jonah. he also tweeted a latryx song, which let me know hes definitely DEEP into underground hip hop cause even some underground hip hop fans never heard of them haha
pac is the most overrated rapper. im not saying hes bad he is just really overrated people make him sound like he is a god their is way more better rappers biggie > pac
Funny thing was that, during the early 90s, Jay-Z' guest verses on Big L and Mic Geronimo's first LP - he really sound like a bootleg Fu Schnickens' member. When you mentioned Benz to a Chevy, freaking that Transformer 3 movie where they got Bumbee's Camero beating a deceptikons, Benz AMG. I know GM paid good money, but, damn! LOL
GoldGramophoneMedia That completely changed my mind, like I used to place 6 over 5, but the fact that you placed it beneath made me think. ''Irrelevant'' might actually be worse than ''Doesn't matter'' .. Irrelevant was pretty dope at his prime - dont get me wrong, but damn. He's not the same anymore .. Aside from that, I agree with your list. Even if I'd include the imfamous ''Uhm'' in the list.
Nas should be on everyone's top 5. I've been listening to him since I was 13 going on 14 and I'm 41 now. He's still spittin' flames! G.O.A.T. in my opinion!
10.Freddie Gibbs 9.Tyler the Creator (Not the best lyricist all the time but I like his music) 8.Rakim 7.Eminem 6,Biggie 5.Big L 4.Kendrick Lamar 3.Gza 2.2Pac 1.MF Doom P.s I don't like Wiz's radio shit an most of his album stuff but I loved Kush N Oj, Star Power, B.A.R, Flight School, an How Fly P.s.s Curren$y is also dope the new Drive in theater mixtape is the shit!
Biggie is garbage and you obviously dont listen to real rap because you pretty much named all the main rappers who are shown on everyones radio list player 🤣
My top 5, no particular order (for groups, I'll put my favorite rapper from the group) Rakim Nas Big L Wu Tang (this is tough, I really love GZA, RZA, Ghostface as writers, but in terms of rapping probably Meth or ODB). NWA (Ice Cube)
This is just my list, so if you don't like it, that's fine. Just don't be a dick and insult me if you disagree with me. 1. Eminem 2. Tupac 3. Biggie Smalls 4. Nas 5. Rakim
Don't get your hopes up, its been in the talk for years. Hell this interview is 3 years old. Universal is holding the rights to How High. Until they get the okay it won't happen, and they have been trying for years.
AL White I dont know why or what the reason or it is Idk if its because he wasnt from New york or because he was from Jersey either way its disrespect. He was not only a lyrical monster as Jadakiss called him but he brought something new to the game he was a total package kind of Mc he could come at u on some nasty lyrical shit or he could make u laugh on next song. Not to mention he brought that funk to the east coast.
My list of best rappers differs from the ones I love listening too, a cat like R.A. is one of the best but not so pleasing on my ear, so they would be 2 different lists.
Check out Jay-Z's MTV unplugged set with the Roots. Something about that performance is revelatory, or it was for me at least; it was one the first times that I could see how his weird nasally, almost nerdy delivery could somehow be fierce, albeit in a deceptive, understated way; and it worked perfectly in juxtaposition with the raw energy of the Roots. Until that performance, I had never considered Jay anything beyond a mainstream, singles rapper with some good songs and a decent album (Bluepri
Jonah Hill attended the first few weeks of Rap 101 class, but then failed to show up for the history segments. From what I understand, he was graded with an "Incomplete."
