I agree with you and would like to add that: People forget to try and understand the psychology behind a women like Wendy when analyzing her egregious antics. Wendy lost her husband to another woman, which I think traumatized the fûck out of her. So her having the option to say that she slept with another woman’s husband gives her a certain power to feel better about her situation. At the end of the day it’s pretty simple though, hurt people hurt other people. Wendy is clearly unwell and in a great deal of emotional pain. We also gotta look at it from her vantage point. She’s knocking on the door of 60, alone, and essentially universally hated by people considering themselves to be decent individuals. The only buffer of safety she has is the fact that the machine will always protect her because gossip is more profitable than dignity, self respect and self control in today’s world. Additionally, she gave away all her good years to who she thought was going to be her forever, got nothing for it, and was publicly humiliated in return. On the one hand she knows that her current situation it’s probably just her karma for prior actions, but on the other, she does what she does for the greater good and is disappointed in the fact that no amount of money, success, repentance, psychiatric treatment, rehab, AA Meetings, or generosity will atone for her past transgressions. I think she prayed for a happier ending but precipitated a divorce instead and now she’s perennially bitter 🤷🏾‍♂️
