Common Name(s): Petrea, Petrea volubilis, Purple Wreath, Queen's Wreath, Sandpaper Vine.
Queen's Wreath is a tropical vine in the verbena family. It is semi-evergreen dropping leaves in colder climates. It is highly drought and wind tolerant and moderately tolerant of salt making it a good choice for coastal landscapes. This vine does need a support structure and looks great climbing over a fence or up a trellis.

Do you water the plant regularly while it’s covered? And if the climate is already hot and dry, do I still need to cover it with a plastic bottle?

I just mist the plants to keep them moist. Do not over-water as this will cause the plant to become waterlogged. If the climate is hot and humid, look for nets instead of plastic bottles.

just got a twig like yours, any property of soil needed? like does it need to drain water or not, be sandy, or have lots of nutrients?

I use a pot that can drain. Planting sand is the sand on the banks of rivers and streams. because this type of sand is very rich in nutrients for plants.
