I kind of wonder if in the Metro universe there's people from the old age who really didn't like things before the Big One and was glad they could start from.... Whatever remains
I remember in last light when you get to theater station theres a man doing a shadow puppet show for some kids. I remember the heart break in his voice when he realised that none of the kids knew what a bird was. The atmosphere in this game is incredible
I just completed it yesterday and enjoyed the game. After completing 2033 I felt empty inside, so directly brought the last light the very next day, thinking I would feel complete 😂😂😂. Completed the Last Light in hours with a good ending. I already knew how the morality system works, so got the good ending. After completing Last Light, I feel nothing but at the same time feel hopeful. Currently started playing Exodus and I will take my sweet time with it. I would recommend everyone to play Exodus. Just felt like sharing my experience.
Yeah also in 2033 when you pick up that kid you find in the tunnels crying about his dead uncle and the first time he sees the sky that hit me in the feels
Wrong. When leaving the market, Bourbon says to Artyom: “There he is, a dead city. Welcome home.” I say this because I play the Russian version and I know the original voice acting.
@@StrikeFromTheSkies Yeah, it's such a pity that the English Dub does *not* act as a translation for the OG Russian Dub. The subtitles are also just for the English Dub as well, and I know that Russian is a difficult language to translate to English, but c'mon...! So I play the Metro games in the English Dub, because of the subtitle thing that ticks me off. At least the games are in English (and many other language dubs). But the OG Russian Dub and original Ukrainian VA just sounds the best. Not that the dubs, say the English one, are terrible. But it could've been executed much better than it was. And also I grew up with it lol. Other than that tiny gripe, I love the Metro games (and the novels). Wholeheartedly.
As the satanic elite announces over and over again, yes. But at the end of this worst time of humanity Jesus Christ will return in the clouds and every eye shall see him coming to gather his bride from one end of the world to the other. Seek him now, soon the rfid chip will be forced upon everyone and whoever accepts this sign of the beast cannot be saved any more
@@Bjoern_Weber hey stop forcing your religion into our brains.i am not a religious person yes,but i am not an atheist.this comment is useless nevertheless.dont shove your religion into us
@@winstonchurchill7822 But the government is allowed to shove their religion of evoltuion down the throats of little children that cannot defend themselves? The lie of the globe, the lie of big bang, evolution, infinite space and so on? They are allowed to indoctrinate billions and introduce their new world order and enslave all of humanity? Kill millions for their evil plans? If you knew what is going on you wouldn't post such mindless comments. I know out of experience that Jesus is God and the bible is his word. You don't find Jesus in churches, because their leaders are satanists. He will soon come and clean this whole mess of a sinful world up...
This theme and game as a whole is so goddamn depressing, I had a hard time finishing it sometimes. The whole game is pretty much built on the idea that humanity got what it deserved.
It's such a poigniant game...it has a strange mixture of bleak nihilism and optimism. Like, humanity has ruined Earth. We got what we deserved, but we can do better. We can rebuild, if we can understand one another. It's why the ending (of the book, anyways) is so tragic. Artyom only understands the Dark Ones as the missiles fall on them, and he has to live with the guilt of what he's done for the rest of his life.
@@qaaris4280 That's 2033, I believe. While I don't like it as much as Last Light and Exodus, I do think it's a phenomenal game, and the bad ending is almost as good as the original novels.
"Wow! What's that, up there...? Wait, Uncle showed me a picture once... The s-sky...! That's the sky, isn't it? It's like... A painted ceiling... I'll be famous! I saw the sky!" That part made me tear up... I mean, just imagine that, growing up without ever seeing the sky. Our world may be broken the way it is now, but I'm happy living in it the way it is. It could be so much worse after all, and the Metro games show that in every detail, and especially just listening in on conversations between NPCs. One of my favorites is in Last Light were an adult is doing a shadow puppet show for children, and he was doing animals like dogs and swans and stuff, but most of the kids thought they were mutants... Gah I love these games so much!!!
Yeah it's so sad when you listen to adults talking about it to they kids. I remember when kid was drawing sky, house and his mother and his dad talking to him at first station?
I remember when i played this game in junior high school and was 13-14. I remember that when i finished the game i said to myself that im gonna learn guitar just for this song...years later in my 1st semester of my university i bought my first guitar and tried to learn it.. After many months i even uploaded it in youtube as a proof of my accomplishment...for me personally its important
You know what's funny this game has also inspired me to play guitar but I cant get one right now with all the Covid 19 stuff going on but im learning bass guitar i also have this very strong interest in Russian culture especially music like Kino and Ploho but my favorite is Мать Тереза (mother Teresa) alot of Bass involved
RIP Bourbon, Ulhman, Boris (Ranger), Stephan, "Comedian" (Man who save us from the Reds during the Armory chapter) , And the random guy during the chase chapter.
In the first stage of Last Light's Chronicles Pack where Pavel is in Venice, a conversation that you can overhear implies that Bourbon survived the massacre at Dry Station
+Robert C. (XPertGamer95) I try to kill the least amount of people. I even refused the cartridges the mother offered me after I saved the child, just because it felt better. This game is beautiful and really tickles my touchy side.
Dem feelings :s My bro just played it last night, a really clear night, with plenty star and not a single noise except the music of his guitar... fucking magic... I almost feel a wind like if it comes from a metro tunnel...If humans created something great, that's the Music.
The atmosphere and play style of this game is absolutely beautiful. Because of the way they mix the perfect story telling, and the feeling of complete solitude and uncertainty while crawling under the floorboards of a metro station flooded with hostiles is why this game is on my top 10 list. And it is my favorite stealth game of all time.
Still one of the most iconic themes in the post-apocalyptic genre, the acoustic guitar section always seems to represent nostalgia, a survivor playing and reminiscing about how the world used to be (the plucked strings in the background representing the old Russia), and their wish for the doom to disappear and the world to go back to how it was before, but all they can do is wish. The acoustic then fades out, slowly replaced by a new sound (bass guitar?) which represents the reality and the survivor being forced out of their reverie to come back to it, it is the same tune, you are still living in the same world, but it has been irreversibly changed. The reminders of the old world will always be there for you, but you can never truly go back to that world, the only thing you can do now is try to survive in this new one.
@@koryaga887o Putin's threats of nuclear war if anyone gets involved, and many Ukrainians have been sheltering in Kyiv's metro tunnel system. Oh, and it's also made by a Ukrainian game developer.
Man, in 2033 I dropped the rockets on the Dark Ones cause I just went along with the game, didn't pay much attention to what happened and didn't give any deeper thought about it. Last Light made me regret all that, the entire game long. So nostalgic.
The book has a much better ending, in my opinion. It's basically the bad ending, where you bomb the Dark Ones...except in the book, it's during this that Artyom realizes something: the Dark Ones aren't out to destroy humanity, they're trying to help. Everyone they try to communicate with goes mad, except for Artyom. And so, the one person who can save the Dark Ones destroys them, and all he can do is watch the missiles fall.
Wish we had more singleplayer shooters out there like this. Area 51(PS2 and Xbox), Bioshock, Half-Life and Metro are the best in my opinion, adding great depth and environment to the story
Have any of you ever played a video game called LEGENDARY? It was critically panned at the time, but if you get past all that, it's a very good game. The survival elements and the feelings of solitude you often get. Basically, Pandora's box opens in the present day and mythical beasts are released, like Werewolves, Griffins and even the Kraken, but there were lots more. It had MP, but nobody played it. The locations are good too, New York, London, and some segments in the English countryside. (That was kinda scary, walking through dark villages, catacombs, and cathedral grounds) anyway, it wasn't well received, but I for one genuinely joined it because it was fun, especially when you have to behead werewolves to kill them.
Metro 2033: Loneliness and fear, end of humanity Metro Last Light: New hope, reasons don't stop fighting for future Metro Exodus: Exodus, redemption for humanity How I love this game and books
Since 2033 has the end twist that the dark ones were actually good and wanted to communicate and help rebuild humanity, it would make more sense for LL to be a sequel of redemption, whilst Exodus is about hopeful new beginnings after previously making do with horrible mistakes
I dont hear this song, like for years. And now this pop up on my recommend, and... im crying... i cant stop tears... I think i need to play again some good game, guys, let spartans be with you
I used this song in an iMovie I made for my English class. Needless to say, I got a perfect 100 and my teacher sent the iMovie to the principle so he could personally watch it.
16/03/20 09:05 pm (Argentina) "Here i am writing this in a video of the lovable soundtrack of a post-apocalyptic game, the first day of quarantine couldn't have gone better, i got awake at 5:00 pm, no fucking food i had been subsisting of bread and water, the day has been really calm, i have heard news of Curfew in United States and France, sincerely i still can go outside but my friends are scared to do so, all the news are talking about this, making jokes or shit like that,my last good meal was yesterday, i tried Tacos with Aji, it was hot as fuck but atleast it worthed it, i am hearing people especulate about this pandemia taking longer than march, if i ever transcript this to a diary i hope is not to late"
i just started the metro series in 2019 on my ps4 i started with redux first, now im on exodus. I had been eyeing this series for years now. i beat all of them on the hardest difficulty on my first playthrough. love the storyline.
One of the best soundtracks for a post-apocalypse world in my opinion. In all parts of that game series. Metro 2033 gives us perfect silent ambient which gave us chills and let us understand what the whole world have died already. We have nothing to save, but the last shards of humanity and kindness in their hearts. Last Light sounds a bit more hopeful, with notes of fear before the unknown. Humanity had pushed through, began to work together for a bit, but there was so much they didn't know or found in that cold wasteland the great city and memorial of the past have become. So this knowledge raise fear in your mind when you're just trying to understand it. Exodus gave us truly hope and fear experience, for we are know now what the world may not be as dead as we thought, but still we are in fear, fear to see how bad things are.
