Why they have those stupid barriers almost everywhere except Czech Republic Germany and Austria? It's so annoying. I can't imagine having it in rush hour in Prague, people would destroy that. :-)

I find these barriers annoying, too! Especially if I have to use them 50 times a day during my trips... 🙄 It looks like the cities don't trust their citizens. If their problem is that there are too many free-riders on the metro, they should take care of the root causes instead of fixing the symptoms.

@@MetroCheck We actually had barriers in Prague metro, but it was before public transportation was unified to one integrated system with one ticket, you had to insert a coin and then you could enter. I don't remember it, I am too young, but I heard about that. From what I heard, people were jumping above or going thru enterence for disabled people or moms with baby-carriages, so it didn't work at all. I know it's not that easy to bypass modern big barriers, but I saw it in Lisbon that even when it's big like acutall house door, there are still people who can get in without ticket, people are very creative in this case. But what is more annoying for me than actual barrier is ticket system where you have ticket with chip inside and you have to validate it everywhere because not everywhere they use time tickets. Also, it's not only about I don't like the idea of opening barriers with my ticket, it's even about that these things have malfunctions all the time and when you have 4 gates and only 1 is working (which is definitely how it would be here if we had them) then it's really a problem. Also, I prefer classic oldschool paper tickets, because you clearly see what ticket it is and when you validated it, those e-ticket systems are very confusing for me, I was using permanent marker in some cities to mark what is loaded on that because when you have like 5 same e-tickets in your wallet and you don't know which is that you want, it's a problem. You can mostly load a new ticket or tickets on used e-ticket, but you still have to remember what is there and if it's more one-ride tickets, you have to remember how many rides you already had. I just don't like modern technology in this case. People are used to it in other countries, but for me as Czech, it's always pain. When I was in Vienna, I didn't like many things about city, but what I realy liked is that they have completely same ticket system asi we have. I like how they did it in Warsaw, they have barriers, but it can still read classic paper ticket and it's fast, you put it in and your ticket will appear on other side of gate, so you don't have to stop. I don't know how realiable this system is, I was not using metro there much, but it looked definitely better to me than how it is for example in Lisbon. Barriers are similar ot the same, but you have normal paper ticket and you see what ticket it is. But it looked to me that poeple in Warsaw don't use metro that often, it was always almost empty, but maybe it was because of Christmas or something. I just can't imagine in Prague or Vienna that every person would have to open barrier, it can be really crowded there.

@@MetroCheck PS: some people say that barriers are important for them because they need to count amount of people, but if you look carefully in Prague, there are sensors which count it, I guess it's not always 100% precise, but you don't need barriers because of that. Or with today technology, I guess that you can use even cameras for that.

By the way - from what I have seen, people getting in without ticket happened most frequently in Athens... Here is an example from one of my videos: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-LXy2wxaXby0.html at 01:43 (only one guy has a ticket, but all his friends also pass through the gate after him)😉

Schönes Video! Weiter So!
