Participants learned about MetroAccess services and areas served, who is eligible, how to apply, how to book a trip, the cost of services, and much more.
Presented by Brigid Doherty a Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist (COMS) with the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority’s (WMATA/Metro) Transit Accessibility Center. In this capacity, she provides one-on-one and small-group orientations to Metro customers who are blind or have low-vision. Brigid serves as Metro’s liaison to the blindness/low vision community and provides extensive outreach to consumer groups and professional organizations in our area.
