Metroid Dread Experiment Z-57 Boss Fight with Metroid Suit and Hyper Beam (Emulated)

Or the shinespark and screw attack against Escue, or getting out of Golzuna’s range with spin jump. Lots of incentive to sequence break lol even simple ones. Lots of replayability

I like to think about what it might be. It could be spider ball maybe, but we will never know.

That could've been the ice beam power up since it was breathing cold blast of air.

The weapon probably would've been a weaker Hyper Beam, given that it shoots a red beam from its mouth.

AFAIK, only by using glitches, you're supposed to get locked into fighting this boss when going for SA, and you need that for wave beam

I think it’s possible glitchless, but you have to be very roundabout with your pathing and item order. You normally need screwattack and gravity suit for that last EMMI area, and getting gravity causes frozen Artaria that locks you in until you kill this boss. So normally you get gravity and then screwattack either during or after frozen Artaria. But I’m pretty sure with space jump(which you can get on the second Ferenia visit) and underwater bomb jumps you can get screw attack before gravity suit. Then you’d get gravity and go back to Ferenia instead of taking that elevator to Artaria, kill the purple EMMI and get wave beam, then walk all the way back to this boss and kill it. Very roundabout, but Im pretty sure its possible if I’m not forgetting anything. Of course with glitches it used to definitely be possible and I think the speedrun route used to do that before they were patched. You’d use camera lock to get screw attack early. There was the one glitch that made you immune to the cold rooms, and axis skew for a shinespark in the last EMMI area where you normally need gravity, so gravity could be skipped. If you did those and got wave, you could path all the way back to this boss and use wave beam against it. I don’t know if the effects would change though. I know your current suit is reflected in cutscenes, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the beam effects are always fixed to be what the game expects you to have.

Cut scenes will always show what Beam you’re supposed to have when you get there. When fighting corpus, it still shows the basic power beam. And when fighting Kraid, it shows the spazer/wide beam.

@@carolbrokethewallagain Underwater Bomb Jump is also a glitch, since it makes use of it messing up the way the game determines if the bomb is supposed to give you height underwater by doing a normal bomb jump and unmorphing first to "store" one.

If you want to do this yourself, here are the requirements. 1: You need an emulated copy of Metroid Dread. I can't supply it because that would be Illegal. 2: You need a save data with the Metroid Suit and Hyper Beam You can get 3 saves here. Save 1 has no items other than the Metroid Suit and Hyper Beam, and is located at the very beginning of the game. Save 2 has all items in the inventory and is located at the very beginning of the game. (Not necessary, but helpful.) {I'll make a video on how to do this very soon.} Some things to note are that if you have the Hyper Beam Enabled, then you can't use Missiles, Aeion, the Omega Blaster, and The grapple beam. Try not to go into any areas that require the phantom cloak. If you absolutely need to, then you need to turn off the Hyper Beam.
