Absolutely. It will require a little modifying to get the settings right. However, I found allowing a little thing called, Razor Cortex (which you can DL for free on Razor's website), will help run the Emulator smoothly, by balancing system-resources, and watch a couple of vids on how to change the settings of Dolphin to work better (it's usually only a couple of settings to mess with), then BAM! Retro Gaming in HD. [:

+Cory Peters I wish I could have the ice beamso early X) but I have the PAL version so you can't do everything, even if I think it's possible. Well, the worst about PAL version is the early Plasma beam which is impossible or if not, much more hard to get, since you have to use a power bomb to blow away the things before the door... I was so disappointed... Plasma beam is so epic ^^

Its called infinite speed, he transitioned to the room next to wave beam, the tunnel. That's where the game thought he was during this glitch, then the physics were weird so he was able to rotate until his rotational speed overflowed. After that, your morph ball shell gets deleted, then when he laid a bomb and boosted he collected both the artifact of sun and wavebeam.

Nah actually it's fastest to wait a bit behind the "door" (he waited at the perfect spot). You build up speed after that.

Retro Studios developed Prime, not Infinity Ward

That's pretty simple. The only difference between a missile expansion and the missile launcher is a fancy cutscene. So instead of taking the huge detour to Hive Mecha he just got a missile expansion in Main Plaza at 8:28 and use those instead. The same applies for Powerbombs, where he just gets the Powerbomb expansion in Phendranas Edge at 38:12 . However one still needs the main PB Upgrade to blow up the glass at 1:00:30 for the Artifact. For the essence fight, what he does is stepping inside and out of the phazon pool, because by doing so you can shoot phazon shots without draining the pool allowing him to deal more damage in one pool and finishing it off in 2 pools. Also Essence has more health in PAL and triology version than on NTSC 0-00. Also touching Prime exo only deals little damage. What's actually dangerous are its other attacks like the orbs for example.

Yeah, I run this game as well, which is why I know about all this stuff.

There's two things that come in mind that might make the current route even faster: getting the artifact of WORLD without Plasma Beam (seems very unlikely to be made consistent) and getting the artifact of NEWBORN before Phazon Suit and with just a couple Energy Tanks (making this consistent enough is being worked on). Also, TASing uses a route that differs in many ways compared to the route one can use on console, but perhaps T3 wants to wait for the next MAJOR speedtrick or/ and route change to occur before improving his time. I am just guessing, though. ;)

The in-game timer only runs when you have control over Samus, meaning everything from cutscenes to pausing, opening up the map screen, riding elevators etc. does not count towards the in-game time.

+Mario Aurion This is called infinite speed;. You trap samus in a thight corner and press the control stick left or so. She cant move and gains constantly speed.If she turns invisible you got the unlimited speed. If you let go via the morphal bomb you are so fast, your are everywhere at once. This is why he openend the door to the wave beam and he also grapped the artifact.

Yes. Every object in the room or loaded room:3 But I dont know if you can do it everywhere and I takes quiet some time^^

Quantum speed glitch. it skips the loading properties of the boss, and allows samus to fly towards the artifact of sol first, and then the wave beam upgrade second. If enough speed is built up, you can get both at the same time, and skip the guardian of the wave beam. The speed of the morph ball tricks the game to think that samus is in 4 different spots at the same time. If timed wrong, 3 senarios will occur. 1 game will freeze. 2 samus dies due void damage 3 forced to restart the run since you are glitched into a wall, and the guardian loads in, thus being unable to get out of the glitched wall samus ran into. Since you need to kill the boss to get out of the room, being stuck in that invisible wall can ultimately ruin your run. most of the time, speedruns have to execute exploits and glitches perfectly to complete, as one screw up can either ruin the run, or slow the run down consideribly.

theres a glitch where if you press Y and A repetadly at the same time it will fire missles atmsuper fast speeds

just hold up on the C stick and fire to cancel the cooldown

that dosent work that would switch to the power beam and fire with the delay, u have to press Y (or down on the d pad on the trilogy) and A repeatedly at the same time

you have the power beam out while doing it because it doesn't have an animation to go through after firing a missile so holding up on the c-stick does nothing but let you fire missiles rapidly

including the fact that there should have bee more the the 4 default elemental. beams to 7 different suits all with its own spec

thisisolorin If you don't have the Ice Beam, you will have to touch an invisible area called the loading trigger. Watching T3 seconds before he reaches the Ice Door in order to determine where about the loading trigger zone is all you need to know before replicating it. This procedure is always necessary if you don't have the corresponding Beam weapon.

Dario Citrini Thanks for the tip. But isn't the loading trigger zone all around the door? In my game I'm directly standing on the door and jumping everywhere around it won't get it to open.

no the loading zone doesn't necessarily have to be close to the actual door at all. one way to load a room is to use your beam but here you cant do that since you dont have ice beam, therefore you have to use another method of loading doors. those two methods are completely different: in the method you want to use here, you just want to make sure that you hit the load trigger (in the video: 2-3 secs before T3 is on the door) and touching that invisible trigger area will automatically make the next room load BUT that loaded room is invisible (yet you can shoot at where the next room is and it will be SOLID already (this state of being semi-/pre-loaded is called "secretized" though that is a weird term I don't understand). So now you make the room visible AFTERWARDS by standing on the door!

ok nice. well you can guess where the trigger area MIGHT be but sometimes it's not exactly where you would think at all. So I ask myself "where would I go through if I were inbounds?", since most of the time it's more or less on the way from one door to another and not too far away from a straight/ most direct connection between two doors. But sometimes you have no clue where else to search and it might get really frustrating to search for something invisible. Then, by watching videos, you can tell it must be somewhere on the path that they took so you can just take the same path. :)

a while back one runner actually did 200% runs for a while, if I recall correctly the ingame time was just under 2 hours. he's since deleted his channel so I don't know if you can find the videos anywhere

he used the death ball trick which made him go fast enough for the game to consider him everywhere at once. He opened the wave beam arena with the out of bounds glitch so he was able to grab both the wave beam and artifact at the same time. The game obviously freaked out a little.

Infinite speed glitch. Basically by making the game think you are in another room but you are not (you can tell by which room the minimap zooms in on) by doing weird glitches to bypass trigger zones that switch which room the game thinks you are in, you can get stuck in certain places by entering morph ball in certain spots. Since you cant move, you can build up speed by continuing to hold the control stick in a certain direction (only one specific direction works depending on where you perform the glitch, so sometimes when you don't know which direction you just have to "search" for it) until the "shell" of the morph ball disappears about 1 minute later and all you see is the floating energy inside. You know it's working when you see that it seems to stop after holding a certain direction after about 7 seconds or so (as well as the morph ball looking weird and glitchy, if it doesn't look glitchly and only stops after 3 or so seconds then you are not holding the control stick down on the correct direction). Then, you can free yourself using boost ball and because of the infinite amount of speed you built up, the game literally thinks you are everywhere at the same time. In this case, the game instantly granted him the Wave Beam and the nearby artifact because, since he was technically everywhere at the same time, that also meant he was technically touching both items, and so, got them both. You don't see him getting the artifact, but he does, the Wave Beam cutscene just overrides the artifact cutscene probably because it also triggers the cutscene where the Wave Beam lowers and you have to fight the Sheegoths first before you can get the Wave Beam, as well as the cutscene literally teleporting you into that spot. But, again, since he is technically everywhere, he got the Wave Beam itself instantly as well, because it still existed in the room, even though you couldn't pick it up through normal means at that point.

To piggy back off that other explanation, here's some more information about it that was recently learned: In Metroid Prime, when we enter Samus’ Morph Ball the collision for it is actually slightly larger, and in certain circumstances Samus can become stuck in collision by doing this. Once in the collision, we can hold a specific angle that allows our rotational speed to increase exponentially until it hits the limit for signed 32 bit float point numbers. After this, it stays at that number and goes negative for a frame before finally turning into 'Not a Number.' (Also known computationally as ‘NaN’) When we boost and hit a wall, or use spider, it places the speed to infinity again, then back to 0, then back to NaN on 3 separate frames immediately preceding each other. The reason it does this is because when you boost your 'Morphball Axis aligned' state (the same thing that gives Samus a trail when she is rolling) initially becomes aligned, and when you hit a wall (or just use spider period), it forces the same state to become un-aligned. When that happens, the game starts using the 'Not A Number' math previously known from the rotational speed to make decisions regarding collision. Because of this being incredibly wrong, the game then erroneously places Samus in many, many (but not all) locations in the game all on the same frame.

The Real Azir because the game thinks that Samus is in a different room due to lading a new one out of bounds, she can get stuck and constantly build up speed. Eventually the speed builds to not a number (basically infinite), and releasing it allows speedrunners to skip past 2 rooms, and a boss fight, as well as get the wave beam in 1 frame.

One theory is that he was using some kind of regular propulsion, and the wing flapping was muscle memory.

Yes you do got a point there, but the amount of gas or rather molecules. Dept of space has countable amount of molecules per cubic meter of space. Even in a nebula there isn't enough to make an resistens to make him move, take solar sales as an example you would need a shit load of m2 to make stuff accelerating and even then it's 0-100 m/s in couple of months. But in the end, who cares? It's a game and it's great right. ;)
