Metropolis is the first song from Boney, I listen to on the jazz station back in 2005 It was the most beautiful song. Since hearing it I am a true fan for life. He is awesome.
Dang, I'm in love with this man!!! He and his music turns me on in a Spiritual sense... ungh, ungh, ungh... Ive been in love with him since I discovered listening to this artist. I want him to perform for me one day. But, I'll start with just going to one of his performamces.
I was sitting in the crowd listening to this beautiful sounding long curly brown head man started blasting this beautiful sound. I will never forget that day.
This song takes me back to 1996 Capital Jazz Fest when there were REAL jazz fans, who loved on Boney James and wanted to know when the record is coming out??!!! As you could see, no fedoras then, just his beret type hats and you could see his eyes and he could see you. What energy then, same energy applies now! You go Boney.
Have you heard "So Beautiful" or "Ready For Love"? Those are my two favorites by him....as well as "Bedtime Story". Try'em if you haven't. And by the way, on another artist...….Brian Culbertson is THE Beast on piano. There are so many Jazz artists out there, but these two have took me surprise the first time I heard them.
Great Scott! I actually attended this festival. It lasted three days and also included performances by Spyro Gyro, Najee, Brian Hughes, WAR and the Rippingtons Man, how come they don't have free concerts like this anymore??
Wow! What a Concert! My first concert with Boney was when he was with Bobby Caldwell! The Best concert I have Ever been to! 30 in the band! Tower Theater in Fresno!
The only way to describe Boneys music is "baby making music". It is sexy, and sensual, yet very melodic and classy. I can go on but you get the picture.
