I know. I had to switch to the Japanese version years ago since they never finished it in English, and I love the Japanese version, even if they finished Mew Mew Power I would have still watched Tokyo Mew Mew... the English one is just very nostalgic for me... more so than TMM, even though I watched it not long after MMP cancelled. So, it’s just me missing the English voices I guess.

GUITARISTm14 same, I totally forgot about this show and a few days ago I saw it again on TV and I almost started crying. So here I am watching clips of Mew mew power on youtube at the age of 20. I didn't like the English version though , I'm from Serbia and I liked the Serbian version a lot better but the songs were on English so watching this makes me really emotional. Loved this

This was my first anime i wanted to try watching it cuz i saw the thumbnail with a pink cute cat girl and i wanna try to watch it and i started eps if this and i got so into it and i invited my friends to show it to my friends and we were like a mew mew team cuz my friend liked renee and my other friend liked kiki and my friend's sister liked the blue corina girl and i like zoey :3 ahh memories

Well... One, that would be nearly impossible, given that the episode nescessitates it, and two, there's no need to remove it. As far as a young viewer is concerned, that's just a regular TV tower, it could take place anywhere. The show never explicitly mentions that it's TOKYO Tower, at least not in the english dub. I mean, the deduction is obvious (it's a tower in a show taking place in Tokyo, what else would it be?), but since it's never STATED, 4kids is off the hook. Also, am I the only one who finds it funny that this show's title is a capital city and a cat noise? I mean, cats are cool, and tokyo is cool, so a mixing both must be a good thing, right? Yet, for a show named after a cat noise (and starring a heroine with cat powers), it's weird how there are actually very few cats in the show. The first 26 episodes don't feature a single cat! (Except for a picture of a wild cat) Cats only appear in the show after Zoey transforms into a cat. That's...strange. I can't be the only one to notice that.

I'm split on this one. The JPN opening and closing themes are more iconic, and the background music is better (along with the atmospheric silences). But the VOCAL songs in MMP are unmatched. MMP's group transformation sequences are great fun for the music alone. *Power Rangers' morphing sequences got nothing on this.* Not only are all of them bangers, but they're actually used effectively in the episodes, instead of being left on an album only (I'm looking at you, DIC).

+Cat Nip Those aren't their real names, actually. Those are their 'Mew names,' which function to protect their secret identities. Their real names are Retasu, Minto, and Bu-Ling. Most translators just simplify it to the food-naming system to make it less confusing as to who is who. And in Japanese, food-related names are much, MUCH more commonplace than in the US. Sorry about the rant, just felt I needed to point it out ^^;

mkoch99 Bu-ling is Chinese and is the only girl on the team to have her first name written in kanji. The characters that spell her name doesn't even mean Pudding. It means "Walking Bell". The Japanese pronounce the kanji as "Purin", thus making her name a pun. The only way to spell "Pudding" in Japanese is in katakana and that's only done when she transforms. Each girl is suppose to have a civilian/secret identity name (ex: Minto Aizawa/Mew Mint, Bu-ling Huang/Mew Pudding). The manga and fansubs most likely simplified it because they thought keeping track of all of that would be too difficult. I go with Bu-ling since the anime and manga establishes the fact that she is Chinese.
