Looks like a beach bar and then converted to a little hut with a bed inside for a day rent. It’s good to spend a siesta after a good lunch. You’re still lucky you found an accommodation even as simple as that otherwise you’ll spend the night in the open air with only your bags to rest your head and towels as mat.

I remember in the 70s when we were travelling in Mexico, travellers on a budget would rent a hammock under a palapa. That was their accommodation. This was in Isla Mujeres.

Southernmost point of the state of OAXACA, yes. But if you look on any map, you will see Mexico's geography stretches farther south in the neighboring state of Chiapas (which you must ALSO visit, in order to see some of Mexico's pine forests at higher elevations around San Cristobal, and MOUNTAIN jungles in the lower elevations.) I believe the southernmost point you are asking about is on Mexico/Guatemala border and right on the beach, just south of the Mexican border city of Tapachula.

Yeah I read online and its the most southwestern point in Mexico not the most south, the guy probably said that in Spanish and I just understood him incorrectly. We have videos from san cristobal coming soon and also san jose del pacifico in Oaxaca which has the pine forrest too :D

@@JumpingPlaces I was in Mazunte and the locals love to spread that lie about. A quick look at any map shows Punta Cometa is not the southernmost point in Mexico. As for the most southwestern... who cares really? It should als o be noted that the town's hygene standards are very low (regardless of the pandemic) and you will most certainly find poor cell phone and internet service.

That hut is cute, you two could sell drinks out of the front lol. The owners should create a lockable chest that's bolted to the bed or the wall for guests personal possessions... The drone footage of the whales was amazing!!

I love this place, like it was before in Zipolite, we had to climbed the rocks to go to Mazunte, no road then. Thanks you guys that’s where I am going next year, now in Yucatan living in a fisherman village. Wow amazing whales.

I am wanting to go so bad to Oaxaca now, thanks so much for promoting this part of Mexico that i didnt know about. I would always go to Cancun, Playa del Carmen (Quintana Roo) or Puerto Vallarta on my trips.

I recomend you to go to Chamuyil (its 5 minutes from Tulum) Playa del Carmen is too expensive and crowded, Cancún is a city if you want night life this is the place, but its also expensive, Tulum in the other hand is a little bit more hippie, and Chamuyil is just in front of Tulum, it also has a beach, and the prices are better, if you rent a car, and stay near Tulum you can plan a trip to Chichén Itzá where the most famous mayan pyramid is, and the road is really safe If you need any advise lend me know
