Mezcal Buzz mezcal tasting with Dos Hombres Mezcal Artesanal, the brain child of Breaking Bad stars Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul. I traveled from Mexico City to California to get my hands on this mezcal.
I was somewhat biased when tasting this mezcal, due to the celebrity factor, however, I was pleasantly surprised at the distinguished smokiness of this Mezcal.

I'm learning a lot about Mezcal - I'm enrolled with the _Agave Spirits Institute_ to become a *Mezcal Sommelier* and hopefully a *Master of Agave Spirits* . Since creating this video, I've already learned so much, I'd like to revisit this bottle of Mezcal. In future videos I will have more expertise as to what I am speaking about and sharing with you all. Salud!

This is the 1st and only mezcal I've tasted, i barely got into mezcal, im a big beer fan and just started on mezcal, i drank with fever tree grapefruit water and lemon and coarse salt, its amazing

I absolutely love the two men who made it. It’s a pretty mid range mezcal is my opinion. I picked up a bottle for 60. I’m enjoying some on the rocks. For me it’s not a cocktail mezcal. With what I’ve tried today (a Paloma, margarita, and a Negroni) the acid and other components covered up the mezcal a good bit. At this price point I’d like for it to shine through a bit more. Like I said, I’m drinking on the rocks and it’s pretty refreshing. It’s quite approachable for someone who’s never enjoyed mezcal. I’d stick to rocks or neat for this one. I’ll definitely buy another bottle.

Hey, thanks for commenting! It's definitely an entry-level Mezcal, I agree. I prefer drinking neat - and really having fun trying different cocktail pairings - finding flavors to compliment the mezcal rather to just mix any mezcal in there. I'll have to try it on the rocks! It'd be cool to know what you think of some of the other Mezcals on the channel. Cheers!

@@MezcalBuzz I use dos hombres, tres agaves margarita mix, a very small amount of agave, and cointreau, Makes the perfect mezcal margarita.

@@Pew_Pew_Pizza that sounds good! I make a pretty traditional margarita myself with grand marnier, agave syrup, fresh lime juice and mezcal of choice. Last time I used Ojo de Tigre, Joven and some sal de chapulin. Cheers!

Will F. I haven’t gotten my hands on Ilegal just yet. But I like their marketing and what they seem to be doing in sustainability and small batch production. I’m looking forward to getting a bottle of Ilegal. Do you like it?

@@maheshmirje5657 I think a lot of people get worried with celebrity spirits, because from what I've heard (I am no expert) celebrities will often or sometimes just slap their name on a subpar product for profit reasons. Other times, being celebrities, they just don't really know what makes a specific spirit a good version of that spirit, so they release strange products that don't have the sorts of flavors enthusiasts are looking for.

Hey man, great review. I think that Dos Hombres gets a bit of a bad wrap because it's a celebrity mezcal but in my opinion it's pretty good. It has nice flavors at 42% ABV (I find getting in the lower 40s can be diluted and over smoky sometimes). The knock against is I think the price point. I find you can get a few comparable quality mezcales about $20-$25 cheaper. But, that's just my 2 cents. Really dig your work brother, keep cranking these out! :)
