I was disappointed when I saw the 1st review of this. Head looked huge. Articulation, I'm not too worried about. It's good enough for me to make it work. When I actually got it in hand, I loved it. The head is big but not as noticeable in hand. The light up features are great. The material used is nice as well, especially the netting. The joints are smooth(best neck joint of any predator figure released). Overall, I'm happy with it. I love necas too. I prefer this jungle hunter over necas. I hope mezco continues the predator line and improves them. Also, Riley relaxes me. Adorable kitty.
Lol. I've just been looking for this review, for a while. I saw your one photo on FB, which made me realize that regardless of the lack of articulation, you can still get some great shots.
You mentioned shaving the ankles. I may want to try that. I feel like the shaving wouldn't stand out as much, because oof the complexity of the shin armor. I just need to figure out the best way to do it.
What a good cat! As for the figs, I think the NECA pred absolutely blows Mezco out of the water, almost across the board. I prefer the movement, the paint, and the proportions. Don't think it's that close. Mezco figure lacks saturation.
@12:55 I love Neca and collect them. But you can tell me that it blows Mezco out of the water. Mezco is better proportioned, has better movement, features, accessories, soft goods and paint. The NECA is still a 10/10 for price, Mezco should be better but I don't see this opinion.
I really dig the sculpting of the bio helmet since it looks closer to the one in the film. I would love to see Mezco tackle both the City Hunter and especially the Old Greyback Elder Predator from Predator 2.
I remember when Riley was just a wee guy running around your set ups. Now he’s a mature kitty man hanging out wherever he wants. Love it! Also…really digging the scale on this Predator, but also appreciate the size of the Neca’s.
brah your cat is chill, literally became part of the diorama didn't even budge even with all the temptations lol oh and the figure is cool if you hold this and the neca you really do feel the price difference
Riley seems very even tempered and he's super cute 😁 Can't wait for my Predator to arrive, looks awesome. Just wish Mezco would sort their ankles and elbows - always the worst parts of their figs
I thought the Mezco stock photos were making the head look too big. After seeing this it looks even bigger. I currently have one unopened and will probably return it. NECA Predators are impressive enough for me at 1/3rd the price. I mean, why did they inflate the head like that?
Riley is welcome!,& has great eyes! 😁 don't think Riley would appreciate being articulated though,"Riley's head moves from side to side,& has generous ankle pivot!" 😂 fab video as always D 👍
Hooray!! I get to see some poses that this sexy beast can go into and look dope. Hoping you show how the comby stick fits it. Haven't had much time to do anything with this piece yet it's actually still sitting in the box but some day I won't work 6 days a week... Some day lol.
Thank you for the reviews, I just started getting G.I.Joes. Now I want this one to go up against them. He looks amazing. I have to save up for him but I will get him. A more important I got to see Riley.
I'm pretty sure that the jungle predator has the mesh lenses on his mask and Neca just didn't go for that extra mile. Mine is supposed to arrive on the 12th. Riley is so well behaved, I'm so impressed 😀
Awwww looks like Riley found his toy buddie. Very nice the size comparison is not bad at all thank d amazing mind is coming in tomorrow. Any chance gonna review big devil from hero company.
Loved this review. Loved Riley as always. He does have netting eyes. Since this is a movie verison, in the movie he did have netting eyes. So Kevin Peter Hall can see. Lol
AH! Kitty kat! KITTYKATKITTYKATKITTYKATKITTYKAYKITTYKATKITTYKATKITTYKAT! Damn impressive figure though!. There's issues I have with the paint here and there but they tried things I never thought I'd see on a figure this small like the body netting. Mezco does great on clothing in this scale. I bought a One:12 Ash from Evil Dead and at that scale his clothing looks more natural than on most 12 inch figures.
The "poster" that has the inaccurate netted lenses is just the cover for the Ultimate Hunter Edition bluray... which used an image of the Hot Toys MMS90 Predator figure because Fox didn't provide actual production stills for it. It's also the exact image Mezco used for their box for this figure. Mezco made a lot of weird decisions with this figure and it's inaccurate in a lot of ways. Also bad articulation considering the price point. Gonna be a pass for me.
Yeah the eye netting is wrong. There's clearly lenses on film. Netting was used in Predator 2 City Hunter masks and NECA made a standard head with netting for the various masks they made for their figures so their Scout which reused the Jungle Hunter mask had eye netting, but I don't believe the Jungle Hunter mask had netting even in Predator 2.
I really feel like you can’t just have the Neca Jungle Hunter. You kinda have to get this one too. The rest of the Preds? Eehhh, Neca is fine. Posing this guy with one of my Mezco movie Hellboy figures. I think the exclusive Hellboy with horns will go nicely with a God of War 4/Ragnarok Kratos. If Mezco ever does one.
I love everything about this figure except I need more ankle rocker. They fucked that up big time. I just want open his stance more for the unmasked scream and arms out pose. Got mine yesterday and have holding the skull with mask and gun on
Ya know IMO this predator is good because of the real net, good accessories which can give much mote option to how put him into display, but not accurate to the movie. Ironically Neca one does look for me like in the movie. Especially the unmasked head. Maybe he is too big for 6inch and he doesn't have so many accessoiries and light up features but If I would like to have one perfect accurate Jungle Hunter Predator I would totally pick Ultimate Neca one. and Neca does improve some of their figures by the time giving v1, v2 and now v3 which is much better IMO. More details, painting, same good articulation, fine accessories I do like this one much more. The Mezco one doesn't have accurate colour of his skin and mask seems to be smaller and no black eyes. Doesn't fit to me. So to summing up this is good predator figure but not accurate to the movie for me XD
I think for 6 inch scale this is the best we got for now. Good but not great. No one is talking about the missing tubes of the mask and the no paint on the head inside of the mask.
You can’t make me drink water!! :P kinda glad I skipped on this, I’m tired of Mezco skimping on articulation :( I’m happy with my sh monsterarts predator. That thing is perfect, good scale, great articulation and accessories, love it. If you don’t own it I suggest you pick it up, you would like it I think.
If you take the caster off, you'll see that it's not circular shaped and is keyed to stay like that. I would be very careful rotating it or it'll snap due to the design.
@@DAmazing It does but I worry it'll break because it's more an oval shape and is slightly keyed as a result. Do you think it'll stand up to that over time? I just worry it'll bust off
IT SHOULD NOT HAVE THE GRID EYES! Whoever said it should, was wrong an was likely showing you a cover of the bluray which has the Hot Toys Predator on the front, not the actual 1987 mask. Having said that, excellent review!
