They are awesome, but I'm going to mount mine to a wood base, they have a narrow footprint actually on the floor which I find means they can wobble under use.

Hi Adam I have been on a bit of a journey with you built my own custom 8020 rig then fitted a 30nm osw mige motor with Heusinkveld Sprint Pedals plus VR vive + Quest mainly after watching your vids .Now my rig was built with dual rails from the start to mount controllers etc because I play elite, now I have started with DCS and the AuthentiKit Spitfire MK IX controls also I have ordered some MFG Crosswind V3 how do you get on with both car pedals & rudder pedals ? I could move my seat back because I have a Jaguar leather electric seat fitted to my rig ? cheers
@AdamsSIMporium
@AdamsSIMporium 2 года назад
Well I gave up on the idea of a combined driving and flying rig. I have a separate setup for flight sims. It's to the side and built of 8020 etc, and enables me to switch between HOTAS and yoke with TPM easily. So my rudder pedals sit permanently under there and I just use my office chair (Humanscale Freeedom) which I have added lockable castors to. Locking any two wheels keeps it in place. So basically I can't offer any help lol. I'd love a good combined setup, but it's just not feasible for me as I often switch between yoke and stick, and even just the stick I switch between centre mount or to side depending on what I'm in.

Hi Adam, long time since i last spoke to you here on YT, hope your all good. What i would like to know Adam is, will these pedals fit inside the Simlabs P1 base side plates so i could possible use them after i take the HE pedals out for more room. Cheers Bud👍👍
@AdamsSIMporium
@AdamsSIMporium 2 года назад
Hello mate, let me check now, brb...
@AdamsSIMporium
@AdamsSIMporium 2 года назад
Okay, so yes they would fit, but only just. Obviously inside the P1 is 500mm, the width of my rudder pedals measure 494-495mm. So they would fit, but depending on the size of your feet, you might not get them comfortably on the plates or would be constantly touching the P1. You could solve that by raising them some though. The base of the pedals and even your heels really could sit within the P1 and the rest out the top if that makes sense.
@menacegtr
@menacegtr 2 года назад
@@AdamsSIMporium Thanks Adam, makes perfect sense. I am a skinny size 8 so not sure on that. I only spotted them today on an other YT channel and remembered, you did this video. In all honesty mate, are they worth getting?, not fussed on price as i can get properly more expensive ones but these look like they will do and work in the confines of the P1
@AdamsSIMporium
@AdamsSIMporium 2 года назад
@@menacegtr well I think they are awesome with the Hydraulic damper add on, definitely buy that with it. Feels great and much more realistic I expect, you can't just stamp through changing direction immediately, and there is resistance both ways meaning no more just springing back to centre. It's work bolting it to a bit of wood of 4040 or something, as the only design flaw really is the narrow base which actually sits on the floor. Not a big issue, just means the unit can rock as you put your feet on. Not in use, literally just when putting your feet on lol, so probably not even a concern for most people.

Hi again Adam. I have orderd my crosswinds V3 pedals and will be here Thursday this week. Did you have to pay import tax? I have just had an email from DHL stating There is import duty/tax due on your shipment. The amount is GBP 101.41. Surly that cant be right can it
@AdamsSIMporium
@AdamsSIMporium 2 года назад
I did but not sure how much. I guess be 20% for VAT of course plus customs charge. Sadly that could indeed be right maybe. That sucks for sure!
@menacegtr
@menacegtr 2 года назад
@@AdamsSIMporium Makes then expensive with that smack in the face import charge, maybe the weight also might have been the factor. I ordered the damper kit plus the pedal kit to extend or shorten width. No matter as properly worth it anyway, i have been using my HE pedals for the rudder so looking forward to a proper feel. Cheers Adam👍

@@AdamsSIMporium hi Adam, had pedals 5 days now but only installed them in my P1 on Sunday, so just over a day. They fit in quite nice with the pedal width fit i included to bring them further inwards. All i can say on initial testing is WOW and a massive difference to using the HE pedals to do the rudder work. I have left the damper off just so i can see how it will feel when i install it. What i would like to know is, do you always have your feet on the rudder pedals when flying or do you rest them on the floor and also, were do you put your dead zones in set up, in the game or on the config screen in the MFG config. Cheers mate
@AdamsSIMporium
@AdamsSIMporium 2 года назад
@@menacegtr That's great they fit in. I mostly keep my feet on the pedals really, probably 95% of the time. If you love them now, wait until you get that damper on :) I did have a small middle dead zone set in MSFS, but I think I completely removed that now, I find it's not needed, probably more so with the damper installed which makes it easier to control them with more finesse.

Nice! Did you build a dedicated flight sim rig?
@AdamsSIMporium
@AdamsSIMporium 3 года назад
Of a sort yes. It's just 4080 profile used to mount HOTAS and yoke which I can swap in moments and slide stick to side or middle. I use my office chair with it. It's pretty awesome, I should do a vid, a couple of the ideas may be useful to someone.
@OhItsThat
@OhItsThat 3 года назад
@@AdamsSIMporium You definitely should do a video on it. I actually upgraded from a GT1 EVO to a P1X recently. I was gonna do what I always do with sim hardware I no longer use which is sell it. I decided not this time. It’s gonna be a dedicated flight sim. Even with the size of the P1X it’s still not enough space for both racing and flying. I was using the EVO for both but it was really tight. I’m just a casual flight sim guy but I think if I have to do less work to get everything set up I’d get deeper into it. Check out the GT1 EVO with my flight sticks mounted to the V3. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Tx5RS-_R2y8.html

@@OhItsThat That's very cool and I was considering if/how to do that for a long time. In the end I gave up on the idea of using my driving rig due to space and I want to be able to use a yoke too. It means I don't have the V3 for flight, but that's ok. I am very jealous of your shifter though!!!!!!!

are the pedals precise and easy to move smoothly in very small increments? Looking at your video it seems like your feet move in big steps which reminds me of my old Thrustmaster plastic rudder pedals that I sold because of this.
@AdamsSIMporium
@AdamsSIMporium 3 года назад
You can but I highly recommend the hydraulic damper addon. I have that now and not only does it feel even better, it makes small movements much easier. You just turn the damper dial up or down to increase force needed and it means you can't just snap from left to right anymore and gives more of a feeling you are moving something.
