Here is the MFJ-9420 20 meter SSB QRP transceiver. Available at www.gigaparts.com or www.mfjenterprises.com
10 watt QRP operation on SSB or CW with optional CW board. The X version comes with microphone. Plug and play radio, requires only 2 amps of current at 12-15 volts. GREAT for backpacking, QRP contesting or mobile. Check out my other videos i will be making with this and other units for QRP operation.

This rig also comes in 6m, 10m, and I think it comes in 40m. The last two digits of the product number change to show the band it is. Nice demo. Thanks Eric.

Thx for the post. Good presentation. I've been waiting for a few weeks on delivery of this radio to stuff into a Hammo Can project.

Thinking about a 40m version myself. I have the same 450HT as well BTW! LOL Love it but man, the fidelity on that MFJ is great!

Wow, looking back 5 years this must make you cringe. You never resolved one signal properly and skipped over the guts of her. Glad to see you've earned your stripes now in 2021

I just bought the new version on eBay from Giga parts. I used to have the older versions back in 2009, for 20 and 40m. It looks like I'm only showing 7w output on my dummy load.

Thank you for the review. How much current does MFJ-9420 consume in receive mode? 73 de R2AUK

Thanks for making this vid! I'm looking to get one of these if I can't nab a EFE 20m QRP. How's the selectivity on the Rx? Have you had any issues with mega stations swamping out nearby stations?

This is kind of cool but for only $130 more one could have a G90 multiband SDR with lots of filters and features . I simply can't see how this is worth $330 (as of 2020) One could buy good used 718 or Alinco Sr8T for what this cost. I can only see buying this radio as a novelty.

The receive audio sounds a little distorted.

funny you should say that, i just had a good friend of mine align and tune the radio, he works for Motorola, so i will be using this on field day on saturday, and it should be on par now, it was a TAD off. videos ill show it in action this weekend. 73

Terrific. I have seen a lot of videos on that line of radios. Seems they work well. Good luck on fieldday

Why would people buy this radio. In 2020 they are 289.95 with mic, plus $139 for the 971 tuner. You can get a good used Icom 706 mkiig for around $600, The same size, plus VHF and UHF 10 to 160 meters all mode. and 100w or dial it down to qrp.

MFJ still has some quality issues. Yours, the meter is not installed straight or is that just a issue of the video? Don't get me wrong here I'm looking at the 40 meter version of this radio as well. MFJ products do seem to hold up well be as I stated, they do still have some minor quality issues.
