Here it is viewers! The big head-to-head between two of the hottest SUVs in the market right now! Which one is your pick - Hector or Harrier? Let us know in the replies.
Bigger touchscreen, sunroof are just toys which one plays with and gets bored in just few days. What matters is the driving dynamics, solid build quality, chassis, utility and reliability, which is offered by Harrier
TATA HARRIER came from proper gym with good food and diets. MG HECTOR might use steriods and chemical protein powder! Yes HARRIER is true, he will never cheat and TATA designers cameout from vacation mode!
Awesome Explanation.. Working in Tata Motors, seeing 100's of Harriers daily, but nevertheless best Explanation of My Harrier.. Sunroof version is just officially released and will soon beat MG.. Trust me the Build Quality in Harrier is Amazing and Ensures the passenger safety. Good Work.. 👌👌
Sooner harrier is gonna get updates like a Sunroof(not a factory fitted kit but a official accessory), A stronger engine with 170hp, and petrol & diesel automatic...🔥🔥🔥...My bet is on harrier..🚙
@@maheshmurali2697 dude... It also has voice commands and much more convenient to use than the complex unit on Hector. And don't forget that the chassis is the most capable and costlier than Hector
And nobody talks about things like maintenance and service network. Imagine you are in middle of remote area and you want a local mechanic who can fix your car. What would be your best bet? Harrier or Hector.
For an SUV Dynamics, Ride and handling, Stability are the important factors which is seen only in the harrier rather than the hector. Features like sunroof, touchscreen voice commands are not the deal breakers as these are least usable in Indian conditions. We Indians buy an SUV to tackle bad roads which is somewhat difficult with hector. Thus the right pick for Indian conditions is the HARRIER
Absulately right sir. If harrier wants to beat hector, it has to reduce nvh levels and add some gimics like features only which has actually no meaning at all while if hector wants to be better than harrier it has to provide Land Rover like platform and build quality which is like not possible in same price point.
Good to see that most of us like Harrier...unfortunately for Harrier and other good product from Tata like Hexa and Nexon, sales number are not inline with those likes and comments...we have seen significant decline in Harrier/Nexon/Hexa Sales and people are busy buying MG Hector (38000 have booked and are ready to wait) and Kia Seltos (10000+ sales/month)...which itself indicate that those 2 SUVs are best in segment and are going to stay long and make their mark in Indian car market...however on the other hand what else can Tata do to improve current trend for their best product ever Harrier. I am btw proud owner of TATA HEXA XTA another gem in Tata's proud head and day by day the love for this car is increasing... Tata marketing, designers team needs to seriously review what else they need to do to improve sales...may be introduction of additional gadgets, sunroofs, automation may help...and please work on cabin noise that's annoying on excellent car like harrier
I am noticing that some people in the comments don't like the features of hector, it's completely subjective. Hector has far more features than the harrier.
I don't mind the red or full black hector though. I like the harrier looks aswell, rather more than hectors. As such making a SUV appealing to everyone is very hard and in turn very expensive, Land and Range Rovers
If MG was priced at 20L, this would have been so easy to decide upon. But pricing has just blown every competition out of the park. Harrier is the best India could come up with, but Hector, as a package, just shows how much we still have to go.
Its a british brand brought by a chinese company SAIC,made in gujarat plant so its made in india. The ownership of range rover is now in the hands of tata motors, does that make range rover a indian car
I prefer Tata Harrier, tough, good build quality and tata's brand image. In hector unless that fiat powered engine, it's truly chinese (Baojun 530). And that logo from british brand MG.
I own the harrier and a cousin of mine have recently bought MG and trust me MG doesn’t even come close to harrier when it comes to class and driving experience 😒
Majority of the comments are gonna be like "Harrier over Hector any day", but in reality not many people are buying that car, and the Hector's bookings are breaking the ceiling
True! This is the case with most comment sections. I saw a marazzo vs ertiga comparison, where everyone was saying "marazzo over ertiga, because marazzo is Indian and ertiga is Japanese" But ertiga just smoked marazzo in sales. Most people commenting like this are jobless idiots.
Tata Harrier any day looks absolutely gorgeous ❤️❤️ MG is Chinese plastic on wheels... I would never take chance especially when harrier interiors and exteriors r so damn good
I saw the MG in real and it looks plasticky 🤭🤭, I prefer the TATA's proportions Tata should give the harrier all the missing features and petrol and automatic gear box then it will be the best one to buy...😁😁😁
I tried Tata Indigo in 2004, Manza in 2009, Duster in 2014. Both Tata cars were failure on many fronts, Duster was fantastic. All electronic parts in Tata get failed often and TATA always research the vehicle after sales, we cannot rely upon.
Also, the updated model spied recently had a sunroof and an AT. The BS6 engine is rumoured to be tuned to 170 bhp, thereby taking the Hector's edge in straight line performance.
Between Tata and Hector, Hector is better, I believe. Looks are personal but I still like Hector's look. By the way after lots of research I am getting a Kia Seltos
Thank you Autocar for this😂😂..it is always entertaining to see all the Tata fanboys dissing MG in comment section...MG is silently gaining more sales..but Tata is also using patriotism as their good word of mouth marketing for the vehicle.😂😂
I would choose TATA HARRIER any day on the light of 4.5 years experience with my TATA BOLT XT 1.2 Revotron Petrol 90 PS. It's a solid built car with a GNCAP rating of 4 stars and it has proved it's strength at many instances on the road. Even that premium mid-sized hatchback is this stable on road, I could surely think how a LandRover pedigree could perform 😘
Since the day harrier i come here with expectation to see any new uploaded video of the day.... I have seen each and every video that contains tata harrier in its title... 😏
Harrier is a MUCH better mechanical package when compared to Hector. People will still queue up for MG's bling. These are the same people who would prefer some random Maruti/Hyundai shit over brilliant cars such as Ecosport, Punto/Linea or Polo. Bling might excite you initially, but over time the car that has the most well sorted dynamics will make you a happy customer.
Man,you look like me.i have never owned a maruti/Suzuki..IAM Chevy Cruze kind of guy(I still own one which has done 1.2 lac kms and sexy as hell),wish indians stop treating their cars as t.vs and get excited with real Dynamics than small features they don't use anyway.
It's the trade of between reliability and sporty vs luxury and uniquity. You the kind of guy to take your car offroading? Cool, go ahead with that awesome EcoSport. I'm gonna cruise on my highway with 0 road noise and music. That said, polo makes me but everytime I think about it...
I think the MG will be fabulous with its features But I feel with my experience with Harrier the rev of that power and attitude is 100 times better than MG
The Hector is basically a Chinese product....not even an MG....y are ppl going crazy over it? ...the features maybe....but i dont think it will do good in the long run.. quality wise....Tata has improved its reliability over the years....and having Land Rover underpinnings helps too....
Seema Deo yeah....you will get the feel of Landrover discovery’s panaromic sunroof in MG. No matter what these guys say, they literally nailed it!!! I test drove both the cars last week, even went for little off-roading as well...MG really performed good and there is no down side to it with full load of people! Harrier is good but their sales team and service sucks!!
Quaitywise A very Good documentary from an Indian car Magazine. - No Jarring Background music. Even volume across the video was even - Lush with the essentials rather than those nonsense spy shot of cars in various angles. - Full with details and how it feels .... rather than reading out specs as in most reviews - One can even sense the enthusiasm of the reviewer (E.g.once while he is cornering the car) Makes you feel connected. - The language was equally comprehensible to both a layman as well as a car enthusiast. - A Comparison definitely ups the usefulness of the video Keep it up AC Wish to see more such reviews from a desi magazine
Yes i agree HECTOR is more value for money BUT harrier is better In the ride quality,it has terrain modes,it has power and economy modes and the best part is harrier is proper suv with 235 section wheels unlike HECTOR with punny 215😆 One needs to decide now if he wants a better suv or value for money mpv
Mg hector is a better choice as compared to the tata harrier because of the following reasons 1. More features than the harrier 2. More powerful diesel engine than the harrier 3. Better in looks 4. Better build quality 5. More space inside Overall mg is the best❤❤👑👑
Hector is for bells and whistles. Harrier is hands down driver's car. You can always pick fancy features over practicality. But only those who love driving and adventure seekers will understand what Harrier offers, which possibly nobody in the market can offer for that price point.
People are telling that Tata services is poor just see the JDM ranking where Tata is placed 2nd for customers satisfaction also most of features in mg are so gimmick...
I took a test drive of both and found Hector much better at many places. I can see the comments are biased towards Tata only because of the Indian brand but those who get to drive both and compare will understand the difference
As a suv lover mr xxx... Your hector is not a hurracane its almost a second faster and in moving speed its low... Sorry mr. Flash dont go for gimmics like features go for a Landr rover trust mr. Low budget jo expect hee nhi kr skte ki koi itni achi tech ache rate m kse mil rhi h bhai pdh likh lo fir bta dena gimmics m aur roots m kya farak hta h ek car ki Apke 30 massive bhp ka agr ek second ka farak arha h car ki top speed m aur gear m haar rhi h to koi fayda nhi go for a low tuned engine ..... Love your love in these gimics congo for your upcoming hector .... Wet mode mud and sand ye kaha se laoge 14 esp features kaha se laoge thats called a smaarttt... Carrrr
I Hope upcoming harrier updates will get any of these features.... 1.electronic park brake 2.panaromic sun roof 3.nice touch screen 4.refined engine with higher 170hp tune 5.bigger wheels 6.all wheel disk brakes 7.electronic tail gate 8.all LED headlamps 9.power driver and co-passenger seat 10.smaller ORVM 11.ambient lighting 12.reclining rear seat 13.upmarket steering wheel 14.LED reading lamps 15.All wheel drive 16.torque converter or DSG 17.360° camera 18.front parking sensors 19.ventilated sheets 20.wireless charging 21.front visible USB port
MG Hector is much and much better than harrier. Hector's 1 month sales= harrier's 1 year sale. Hector is damn vfm in terms of EVERYTHING. I'm not in against of harrier but Hector is just... But still these bloody idiots will never recommend themselves better stuff and the main point why everyone thinks that MG is a Chinese brand, ahh it's a British manufacturer. They just have collaborated with each other.
Wrong. the MG 'hector' is designed by chinese company baojun and its marketed as 'baojun 530' in china and other markets. it is merely rebadged with MG but MG had no role in designing it. its designed by a chinese company, so its a chinese car
@@abhishekmalesh89 no chance bro I was planning to buy harrier but when Hector arrived I was completely stunned with it's looks, features and price. So I bought the Hector.
@@johnreese5230 😂😂😂😂😂 boujan 530 is the facelifted version of the Hector for China. The SAIC motors have just copied the Hector styling up to 70% afte all they are business partners. MG is complete British manufacturer bro, just collaborating with a Chinese brand doesn't make MG a Chinese brand.
My suggestion is, If you want more specifications in car better to buy MG hectare.... If you choose only performance better you choose Tata harrier only for great performance and for off road usage....
Yo guys Tata company dealerships have improved much much better than Mahindra. I am glad to say that because I own a Tata car and first it was terrific and then it was ok but now it is superb.
Add Seltos to this mix and it becomes even more exciting! IMO all three are good and will be down to individual preferences. Also the BS 6 Harrier will get the same state of tune as the Compass and the Hector
Harrier any day. We drove it and gives the best tough feel. No idea why everyone gets mad over a new brand and that too when it s international. Mg customers will face many issues as and when they drive min 40 k kms... Tata any day
Sunroof, electric seat adjustment, recline, some refinement are missing in TATA HARRIER, not necessarily required HARRIER is best, looks like beast If those are also provide Tata harrier is AmAzInG car...
The Problem with Tata cars is the long term issues with quality, after sales service and many other issues like finishing. At the moment The MG hector has more useful features thaj Harrier for lesser price. Ps: I've noticed a lot of people dislike MG is because they think it's Chinese. It was from UK bought by the Chinese just like how Tata bought Jaguar Land rover. It doesn't mean JLR is now an Indian company.
Remember Harrier is a LR Discovery Sport at 20L. Its way better than Hector. Be practical. You never buy a car for technology after all you won't do coding or built software using features of Hector. Its all riding and handling of a car that matters. Aur waise bhi Hector breakdown ke 3 cases already aa chuke hain baaki toh aap samajhdaar hain hi...
I guess neither. Compass is way ahead in terms of feel and it's a car you enjoy when you drive. If I am strapped for cash then I will go for Harrier. Sunroof and tablet size don't matter
we have a hector (plus variant so not exactly this) and ngl i see why it gets enthusiasts dislike. its a copy of a car sold in china first off and it prioritises features and comfort to dynamics. but most people at this segment get a chauffer and drive it on holidays or weekends. i felt it really great and comfy but at high speed its kinda bouncy. at low speed its really great tho and takes stop start traffic and bumps like a champ. plastics are quite scratchy but otherwise quality felt alright. and yes the touchscreen is annoying and a passenger needs to change the ac. but honestly the sunroof and the powered boot is a dealmaker. and are actually useful features contrary to what ive seen in the comments because well we use them often. ambient lighting is a nice touch and air pressure sensor is really convenient. enthusiasts might ignore all that for driving dynamics which is understandable but i dont think entusiasts prefer a family vehicle. at this segemnt its usually families with kids upgrading from an entry level hatchback as their second or third car. which is why you see a lot of hectors and not a lot of the competition :).
Why all these people telling the Tata is best but you guys will never owns a Tata..if all these commentators in all Tata videos are buying a Tata car, Tata will be the most successful brand in india
