I really enjoyed this video. Your car is one of the very best prewar MGs I have ever seen. Plus, did you have to pour oil into the supercharger before installing it, or was it already prefilled?
Thanks for that Travis. As you know, a supercharger is just a pump. It pumps the fuel air mixture into the engine. The only oil involved are the bearings for the rotating parts in the pump. On my supercharger these are sealed for life from the manufacturer.
The gearbox and the gearing will stay exactly the same. All you are doing by fitting a supercharger is increasing the power through the gears. If you want to go faster or make the engine rev less, now that you have more power you can, if you wish, change the gearbox for perhaps a five speed Ford Sierra one for example, or fit a higher back axle ratio. Because you would have additional power you have the choice.
I am glad you found the video interesting Geoff. You are dead right, I was grinning from ear to ear............ It is always so satisfying to install a piece of expensive kit and it fits well and works first time. Last year I also bought an MG TD, ex-California car - see my RU-vid video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Sk6YUpMJ20A.html Enjoy your MG.
