Agreed, the game should have been so much more ... I really wanted to see that Act 3 and to have a game more densely packed with story content to truly see Big Boss' downfall. I guess it really did give us all phantom pain.
@bobmarley6306 Kojima had a plan they just stepped I'm and got it all wrong, I believe we could have succeeded in getting the true end but once they fired Koji the original plan was lost and the remaining dev team got sent to create survive a total waste if effort time and money.
Why am i still watching this. Just to suffer. Every night, I can feel that music... that gameplay... even that plot. The game I've lost. The masterpiece I've lost. You feel it too, don't you?
why don't you play the trailer muted with David Bowie's Diamond Dogs playing in the Background? pause the video at 0:09 and start playing: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-36lWAcY9IXE.html
Everyone here already bought the game years ago and yet we rejoice feeling this Masterpiece like it's our first time. Metal Gear is really special, it's on a whole another level
@@rosemmagutierrez1386 But this one hide his intentions like the MGSV logo's vanish from the TPP one. MGSV is the final thesis from MG saga. Big Boss finally create his memetic copy, and so does the game with the player. On every part of the plot or even on every mission, the game constanly lie to you. But in this MGS is more difficult to see through this lies, more than any other MGS. This one relies more on ludo-narrative than dialogue, and there is more range of cinematic language in the cutscenes than just expository conversations (I don't say one is better than the other, to be clear).
MGS V may have been unfinished, imperfect, but holy hell it's one of the most memorable gaming experiences I've ever had. Almost 10 years later and I still have such vivid memories of the game, this trailer, the music, the characters...an actual flawed masterpiece.
i have to agree with you out of all the mgs games i ve played which is all this one is so Visceral and gritty, like it shows you why Venom took the darth vader path, and as much as i enjoy the wonkiness of 1-4. 5 was grounded and made you belive this shit coulda happend in the third world in the 1980's
Amazing song bro , I’m from Saudi Arabia and I love this song so much before I learned English , good song and deep song you can feel it . no need the language
same here. i was like "oh shit that's him turning into the main villain of the series." i was also curious how they were going to remove the shrapnel from his forehead without killing him. and in his final scene in mgs4 he's wearing gloves so i was like oh he's hiding his prosthetic arm. did not see that plot twist coming at all
I thought Snake and Skull Face would join forces against Zero. What we got was much less interesting. They definitely betrayed the villain arc they set up.
@shapen360 it would even explain Kaz betrayal as he’d have thought Big Boss was going too far Man mgsv is the peak gameplaywise of the series but storywise it certainly was the weakest point
@@amsaa91 the real Big Boss was in South Africa creating Outer Heaven. Ocelot tells Kaz about Big Boss' true plan, kaz got really angry and said: 'Big Boss can go to hell' but he still helped with the Diamond Dogs project. Ocelot and Kaz both agreed on the idea that one day they'll become enemies.

When Big Boss said that 'I won't scatter your sorrow to the heartless sea, I'll always be with you". I just went batshit crazy because of how badass that quote is and his voice.
I won’t scatter your sorrow in the heartless sea Man I’d say Kiefer did justice as Venom, somehow I think his voice has more emotion than Hayter even though he barely speaks
jimmy586586 In my Opinion,Since Hayter Being Back The Whole Voice Acting Crew For One Game,And Using His Own Paycheck For that,And Plus the Night Before Metal Gear,It Just feels like Hayter has the Better Voice,Plus There Aren’t that many good cutscenes as the ones they had with Hayter,
@@patriot1525 Big Boss and Solid Snake having the same voice doesn't make sense imo. Like why does Old Snake and old Big Boss have different voices? And no offense but I didn't like Hayter's performance in MGS3 and Peace Walker. In MGS1 it sounded more natural, in MGS4 it made sense he sounded like that because he was old and dying. In MGS3 and PW it just sounded very unnatural and out of place.
@@richard38618 People joke that Kiefer costed too much, so he had less lines. Unsure if that's true. The more likely reason is Venom is more quiet because he's not Big Boss. He doesn't know what BB would say since he's not BB.
Every night, I can feel my leg… and my arm… even my fingers. The body I’ve lost… the comrades I’ve lost… won’t stop hurting… It’s like they’re all still there. You feel it, too, don’t you?
There are a lot of things in the game to imply that he actually is Big Boss but just batshit delusional with dissociative identity disorder. The truth mission/tapes make no sense, plus it's probably a reference to 1984 (ministry of TRUTH - i.e. the ministry that puts out convenient lies). Kojima is a sneaky boi
"I won't scatter your sorrow to the heartless sea. I will be always be with you." That played over and over in my head after this trailer dropped. Still waiting for a good moment to use this line in my life.
The worst part about watching this trailer now is seeing all of those scenes that were cut from the game. If this game got finished and konami let kojima have more time it could have been even more amazing than it already is...
the end of this trailer had me completely heart wrenched. it made me think it was the final point of big bosses descent into madness and becoming the villain he was in mg1 and 2. but we ended up plauing a body double with no true sense of victory.
@@frogglen6350 something else was missing , I have my own theories, I think Konami didn’t like the “child soldiers” thing , Watch the first trailers, you’ll see children receiving military training , and the final final part of the game were kids taking control of the island and Sahelanthropus, a la “Lord of the Flies” , this game was cut to pieces , and they built a weird “final game” it’s a kojima game you know that something it’s missing. Kojima never fails making a great story. This game was cut. And kojima will never talk about this due to legal contracts.
@@mariogpx2990 Kojima also promised “race” would be a major theme in the game, and it ends up barely being a theme at all. Definitely seems like there’s stuff he wanted to put in the story that Konami decided was just too controversial to touch, especially considering how much less brutal and provocative Phantom Pain ended up being than Ground Zeroes.
You know most people talking about it's actually finished the unfinished game thoughts are like phantoms you are telling a finished game isn't finished what else were you wanted to have in game I Mean you wanted to fight solid and die in the end too ?
@@cashmantrevor6335 don't forget why despite such a detail story content concept art of adult chico he was still wasn't used. There is a whole chapter called peace as in kaz and paz name's also mean peace, this could have being metaphorical for chico representing paz while miller represented cipher.
0:35 "Standing on the edge of the crater" Dude, that's exactly what happens in one of the Death Stranding trailers where Norman Reedus is standing on the edge of a giant crater!
You Tube seriously bro in one of the new trailers Mads nikkelsen says to the camera (aka the Baby) “I will always be with you” like at the end of this trailer
@@jaheim123 its not trash,Ign is filled with Retarded Critics that wouldnt realize death stranding's potential. Death stranding tried something different and succeeded, but we as gamers are scared of change and new things, thats why both Death stranding and The last of us part 2 Was hated while being 90+ games
@@jaheim123 IGNorant * but yeah the game is not for everyone, the story is aright and the gameplay is too. Nothing outstanding but nothing too bad. Id give it a 6.5 Hoping his next game will be much better tho
That scene of Venom and Skullface on the jeep while a Metal Gear Rex-like stands in the backgroud makes you think they were working together to build it. Then Venom jumps off the car, Skull Faces turns around a bit and the scene cuts; i don't know why but it feels very dramatic.
me too man. I still play the game and always wonder how good it would have been if it was fully realized and finished. It is still a fun and great game.
Konami releases 40$ Demo: The fans that didnt know they were getting a demo instead a 7-8 hour Small spin off kinda thing: THEY PLAYED US LIKE A DAMN FIDDLE.
@@OKamiKAT They escape with Eli, probably to make his soldiers. Venom's and Skull Face's stories are finished in that game, and still the cinematics for the last chapter are there. I would have like them to finish the last chapter to close things off, but it wouldn't add much to the story really. The story is a bit of a mess in terms of structure.
Yknow i recently got into metal geat and theres so mugh of this series im sure replaying the games after the first time wilk take these games into the next century lol
Tfw you'll never get this same level of excitement again. Everything is just kinda numb lately. I come back here sometimes to remember how hopeful and happy life used to be.
I've never felt so much hope or hype about a game or a movie since. I don't know if it's age or if the game broke my heart by not being as good........
Still here!! 2024..I completed high school, engineering masters and even got married...came back here to show my wife this trailer❤❤man how we have grown!!!
I hum and whistle this song a lot while driving, today I decided to play the trailer that lead me to this song, I always love Metal Gear Solid, best game franchise I've ever got to play
@Reggie the bunkler Survive is a spin off so it doesn't really compare, all spin offs beside Rising did more or less the same. Rising 2 is quite likely..Since Kojima didn't worked on 1 it won't make any controversy.
Still watching this in 2019. All the trailers give me the feels... Can't believe it has been so many years already since I saw this the first time. I really wish we had seen the beginning part in the game, but anyway I still love MGSV so much. I'm glad we haven't seen much of Death Stranding, so it is a big mystery to everyone.
