Breaking the Feelers was never too difficult for me on LR Gore, but HR Gore is another story...yikes.

Holy shit I feel like a god after reading this comment. With all the times I farmed GoreMagala (which was like maybe 7-10 times for the full set), there was only one time that I failed on not wounding the feeler.

Crispy Pixel the attack up L set will actually finish missions faster from my experience with the charge axe at low and high rank and once you get to high you can get attack up XL I basically did 80% of the story in that velo/kut set I only stopped wearing it because i hit G3 XD

InsomniacMatt I used that set till I could make this set. The hardest part in the game was trying trying to kill Tetsucabra with 5 Def. I would keep running out of potions and would have to keep gathering Herbs, Blue Mushrooms and Honey. Once I made the set tho, the game was cake as hits barely hurt you and you didn't have to gather after every fight. This didn't happen again till trying to get your first G3 armor... You're at that 5 def again.

Anime3691 I used the starter set up until the Gore quest when a good blast could one-shot me. :p He was the first monster that was too big and fast for me to just apply old strategies to. With Gore experience under my belt, though, he's in large part on differently shaped Rathian. lol

A mixset of low rank Tigrex and Rathalos Armor give Attack UP XL, I forgot which armor pieces tho. I remember you could also gem in Perception and Gourmand.

Jared Prymont This is quite true for most weapons. It's not true for weapons that have 140 raw or more (after buffs) that go from green to blue sharpness, though. The Tigrine Edge, for example, goes from an unusuably low amount of blue to a decent amount and has 150 raw. There's also the boost to elemental damage, though elemental weapons are generally quite weak at this point and the sharpness modifiers for elemental after green don't do so much. But yeah, people generally worry about skills in low rank that are simply not anywhere near as efficient as Attack Up. Artillery, Sharpness+1, Elemental... all utterly pale in comparison to just maxing Attack out. Of course, here's the REAL Low Rank (barely) set, which requires you to beat Caravan Shagaru Magala: Diablos Helm Diablos Mail Rathalos Vambraces Gore Faulds Arc Greaves Gives Sharpness+1, 5 points Attack, 5 points Crit Draw, 3 single slots, 2 double slots.

Jared Prymont By time you make this you are looking to bust out of LR and there are weapons that give blue at that point with +1. 15% more damage in this case is huge. It certainly isn't the only set for LR and I agree if you have a nice charm or can get Attack up XL that is a decent way to go as well.

Viga i have 4 relic edgematser+2 + tetsu legs torso up in less than 10h of game and only in the 2* solo quest. This set suits me well until the start of G rank :)

RoyalGreenTea I WAS one of those people (granted I was using a Bow). It wasn't that bad, but it was extra tedium. And after I started a new game I found using almost any BM set was much more fun in the early game.

StudleyDudley22 For HBGs, a somewhat okay weapon for Low Rank from my experience is Mightning, Zinogre's HBG, as it can siege Pierce S Lv1. The set consists of full Ceanataur except the chest, which would be Tigrex. That should get Pierce Up, 2 pts to Attack, 2 double slots and 2 single slots. Gem it with Attack Jwl 2 and 1 on their respective slots, you'll get Attack Up S. It should pack a punch with Mightning without a charm. If you have an Attack +3 1 slot, you can fit in 2 more Attack Jwl 1 for the gun and charm to get Attack Up M.

StudleyDudley22 Gunning is perfectly fine. I picked up the hbg for the first time as my main weapon in mh4u I didnt have any problems with it until early G-rank actually. I went from nerscylla set to seltas queen set to hr tetsucabra to stygean zinogre to golden rathian to naragacua. You need evasion +3 for G-rank. And recovery up is also great and easy to gem

kem jeng on Yeah, agreed on HBG being a weapon that can help you towards G. But I also used it in G-Rank, and it was a good choice(but I only did a few rounds before returning to IG), but from my experience, limiter removed Seregios HBG with Evade Extender is quite helpful. You don't want to sheathe the HBG too much, since Drawing it can leave you open for attacks. I used Normal S Lv2 with this thing and full Sere X gemmed with Evade Extender. Took a few from Chaos Gore, but not much struggle. If you want to run Pierce, I recommend you gem in Recoil Down +2. By the way, oversight in my previous reply. If you're going to use Attack+3 1 slot and use 2 Atk Jwl 1 on gun and charm, Def Down S is the result. Manageable, but not so good to see/have. Attack+4 no slots with an Atk Jwl on the gun however, gets no negative skills. You'll need the defense in case Raths go full ape and tear that armor like paper. Or pretty much everything when they just lose it and kill you with cheap spam charges or wind knockback then shoot a painful projectile(I'm watching you Gore).

Meteaura22 You may have already found the answer, but Torso Up doubles all skills on the chest pieces. The various leg pieces he highlighted were because they had that skill.

ferofax Main problem is to get the aftermentioned Wycoon quest you technically need to do almost all Village quests so when you do, you're technically in High Rank and... This set doesn't hold up too well in High rank.

Wojciech Oleksów I'm almost done with Gathering Hall High Rank and my Lao set still rocks. I even switched to gunner and that one still rocks as well (it's even my tail-cutter go-to set if I wanted to keep gunning).

Anime3691 Costs are really not that bad. You should usually always make up more than you would have to pay for an ammo. I mean basic Normal lvl 2 is like 2 gold for each? Less than 300 for whole stack of that plus the elemental ammo depending on your bowgun and the monster you plan to hunt and you shouldn't have much problem with this in low rank. I mean you don't have to buy all of possible ammunition every single time.

Otavio .Pereira A lot a players agree that Low Rank Gunner sets ain't worth it due the weapons being awful and ammo costs too much. Sadly there are no good gunner weapons till G Rank. There's one good gun in HR, but... the armor sets still suck. Sorry about that. PS: I NEVER saw any Gunners till G1. Even going back to low and high rank, I still haven't seen one.

Rhys Sadler-Price I was around fifty kills when I got my second beak. I feel your pain. Edit: To clarify I went full Ceanataur because I'm atrocious at fighting Gore Magala.

Rhys Sadler-Price If you were to break the beak you'd have a very high chance of getting one (mounting only breaks the back fins, so focus on the face after you mount it), you could also increase your chances by capturing instead of killing. that that should on average give you 4-6 beaks for every 20 kills.

g1Chikumo​ I broke the beak every time, and I captured a few times too. I'm now farming HR Narj for beaks again for something else and so far I have more wyvern gems than beaks...

Guard+2 Guard Boost Sharpness+1 Artillery God Should be your best set. What you've got is a bit meh. Load Up is worthless in this, as is Stav Recov.

Ryouka Technically yes, you're right but I would say that this set is also sort of stepping stone to Double Gore Set which for me was a tool that brought me through the High Rank (and atm I'm upgrading it to full Gore X which with right talisman is pretty much direct upgrade) so it may be worth to grind it.

Chilling Beaks aren't honestly that rare. Plus, Sharpness +1 means: No bouncing, and 15% more power. It's destructive at worst, and monstrous at best. No reason not to make this set for Low Rank

RaGiNgBaNaNa101 Please, save the chilling beaks for weapons, the time invested and the time you are going to use those ceanataur equipment just does not equal out. Beside, Attack up is better than sharpness +1 early on, the vice versa later on.

Mctzzy It took me very little time to make this set back then. You can get them pretty fast if you do subquests. (6% for each slot for both quest and subquest) and break head for an additionnal 8% on 1 slot.

It's a low rank set dude. Average low rank sets are around that amount. If ur talking about g rank, it should be around 600 defense but in low rank 200 is very good

its nowhere near 200. build it.

+Naedox if you have a talisman with slots for ss and a weapon with slots you can get it... but thats kinda a waste of slots since there is always a spot to safely sharpen

danny craft Use what you had in High rank upgraded to it's limit. Seriously it's solid thing skill wise. Then as you unlock new options look for a thing that matches your desired skills. I used my Double Gore through G1 and while bit tight in case of dmg I survived through G1 and even after making myself Regios X I still prefer that older set.

CptEddyPrice If the weapon bounce even with purple sharpness your attack generally does very little damage so... Why would you keep attacking that spot? ESP just allows you to not bounce off but doesn't increase your damage so your hunts would by default take much longer than if you just attacked another spot. And since now Elemental Damage is also affected by sharpness and elemental weak parts are generally less resistant to elements as well it doesn't help in this area as well. The only reason I would use it is if I were to play as Status Support type of Blademaster that solely focuses on this since in that case it doesn't matter where you hit and you just want to hit as much as possible. Or when I try to farm a drop which requires me to break a certain hard part (Like S. Queen Head I believe). Otherwise this skill becomes a trap that overall will hinder your performance.

Notra Kingme Dude. Options Menu. You can turn sound effects off and still have the music. Or you could just play without sound if it bothers you that much. reiyu013 Um. Sharpness does help your weapon. A lot, actually, due to the way that Sharpness works as a mechanic. Each level of sharpness above green gives you a hefty damage % boost, which is pretty frickin' broken at low rank. Sure, this set takes some time to get, but Sharpness+1 is pretty much a staple for all blademaster weaponry. The only skills I'd take instead of Sharpness+1 are skills that are combination skills of Sharpness+1.

Are you making this armor set on generations? Because they changed the skills around in that game.

what does torso up do?

+LuvTheSnapper for one torso up piece of gear, it doubles the skills that ur torso piece gives. For example: If ur chest piece gives hunger+4 and sharpness+2, with a torso up it will become a piece that gives hunger+8 and sharpness+4. With another piece of gear that gives torso up it will triple. Some mixed are literally a helm arms legs and waist torso up with a chest for the only skills. This is good because it multiplies the skills in the torso four times- guaranteeing you will get the skills

XxGaming VeganxX its too complicated to keep track of lol im trying to use athenas ass to get a set going, but its not working out that well. i guess im too low rank for it to kick out any decent set ideas,
