I don't think I've done a Long Sword video for MHGen yet, so here's one. Skills: Challenger +2 Tropic Hunter Attack Up (S) Weakness Exploit Twitch: / cantaperme92 Facebook: / officialcantaperme Twitter: / mh_canta
@Lewis Jaxtyn clever enough to make a scam, but not clever enough to make different usernames, give them profile pictures, or make them some time in advance, i mean theyre both literally made at the same time. idk maybe put some effort into it this was just lazy
As someone who loved the Temporal Mantle to bits in World, discovering that Ultra Instinct dodges are something you can have _all the time_ in GU has made me very happy.
I farmed Hellblade Glavenus's for two days. By the end of all this I had hunted 77 and captured 8. The Glavenus, a monster that I use to have trouble with, is nothing to me now.
Yeah bro, thats the beauty about these games. Sometime I get annoyed at just how much farming there is to do but I always feel so accomplished when I master a monster or weapon that I used to have a really hard time doing. (P.S. If you want to have a name like that then you shouldn't post something so reasonable)
Thanks a lot for this video, I've been looking for video's of good players like yourself dodging so that I can get an idea of the timing for the attacks without getting smashed first hand by the monsters. Glavenus has quite a steady beat to his attacks doesn't he? I just want to ask, to get all your dodges, you mainly just focus on the monsters movements right? Not so much on your own characters movements? I think I spend too much time looking at my own character when I play :P
3:47 that was his most dangerous move in this video, he sacrificed 1 hit every time he went late for the tail but i think that time he was maybe too late for even a fast stab, even if he spammed dodge after that moment i think it would have gotten him still. He is soo good that I even think he is counting stagger, but i also think he got lucky there. nevertheless, the real monster here is as usual is canta lol
I've always used Adept LS for this fight, but even after 10 levels of Hellblade, I never completely got the hang of positioning for the head... Still have a ways to go.
I haven't played MH seriously since 3rd Portable and I have very minimal knowledge about the 4 styles they implemented but this just reminds me of the evade +2 LS style which I used to solo the whole of 3rd Portable. Looks much more versatile than it did in 3rd Portable!
Wow, great video. Everyone mastered the adept and me here who's new to mhg got rekt...one question, can we evade(adept) while attacking the monster or we should stay still before the monster attack us?
Each attack has a set period of post-swing recovery during which you cannot do anything. Adept only rewards you for dodging at the right time. It doesn't enable you to dodge all the time. The recovery is why you see Canta stopping his attack often way before the next incoming attack, to anticipate and position accordingly. It is almost rhythmic. If you are new to MH series, I strongly suggest you get familiar with Guild style Long Sword first. Long Sword was introduced in MHP2 with beginner-friendliness in mind. It has long reach as Great Sword, but fast running speed and short recovery comparable to Sword and Shield, with versatile reposition similar to Lance. You don't need to slice as many times as Dual Blade, but not as few as Great Sword, so it also hits a nice balance between physical and elemental damage, while not bothering you with maintaining sharpness in the middle of the battle.
Hey Canta i know this Video is pretty old but can you tell me why you choose the grimclaw weapon over the hellblade one? Raw is the same, grimclaw just got 5% more affinity, while the hellblade weapon got blast on top. I can only guess for sharpness reasons so that you dont need to fight a long time with blue? Is that extra white worth the missing blast damage?
Yeah, especially since both are highly resistant to blast effect. That being said though, the difference between both weapons is so minor that you should be able to get similar results with the hellblade LS as well
I'm almost able to do this... I gotta beat my habit of being a bit too R trigger-happy after the evade tho, I keep swinging at nothing and being left open lol
Canta why use the grimclaw LS when the regular tigger LS offers more true raw both with and without challenger +2 active? The only reason I can see was that it charges Crit Juncture 25% faster, is that the sole reason you took it? Is it really worth it?
Yeah man, i got this game to but this is awesome. I collect and grinding a lot to improve my weapons and clothing. But to hit the monster and done with it in this time? You really good.
Tried it once. It wasn’t fun. So many people use it online and get carted nonstop. Usually they don’t have armor skills, either. Then I wonder how they got thus far.
Its a bit of a trick. Takes a lot of practice, especially if the gun has deviation or the bow has an odd trajectory. Whats really rough is being that accurate with rapid fire or spread bows. Or when the target is really small like a zinogre's head. I've been a gunner since freedom back on the psp and even I still miss from time to time, but when you bring your A game and snipe something like a brachydios out of the air with a well placed head shot you feel like a champ.
Well, he dodged every single attack those things threw at him so he clearly did not need that skill. The Counter on the other hand has an extremely high motion value (280 IIRC).
Critical Juncture III is far better in this case. I'm more interested in why he picked the Grimclaw LS here over the Silverwind one, which would have kept him in white longer.
I aspire to be able to learn when to time attacks and when to dodge like you know how to. Perhaps you've just fought Glavenus and Hellblade so many times, but I feel like I'll never get as good as you.
