Yeh, I use a horn with the same healing songs and you can still die, it's useful for keeping people topped up though. If you just spam the heal the monster does still attack you.
As someone still in low rank I just want to thank you for taking the time to cover up spoilers. I've edited plenty of video myself and I know it's not necessarily a monumental amount of work but that tiny little bit of extra consideration and effort goes a long way. Been a fan of yours since Generations because of exactly this kind of attention to detail, and I'm looking forward to your future content.
agreed. i already played MH GU and World before, so I already kind of know whats what (we know there will be weapon tree, some new monsters etc) but some youtube pre-release reviews or 'no-spoiler' impressions talked about endings (length of ending, mood, etc, if it's good or not) and all the mechanics/trees...basically saying everything except 'who killed who' in a suspsense novel. i know plry most wont be affected by showing weapon tree but still this attention to detail to help others max out joy and expectations is great. anyway im in high rank and should try this out!
@@joshoh307 That's the one reason I was kind of upset about how much earlier streamers and whatnot got the full release. I had to go on like full internet blackout to avoid spoilers. It's not story spoilers, but like the denial of that act of discovery I was worried about.
I love it too, I just hate how many channels I have to block because of their 'similar content' and I dont trust them, been spoiled by simple gunlance movement clips already..
I mean potions arent hard to get in this game mga or otherwise but ya just he idea of not getting hit by a stray attack or something and fainting when your runnih aeay to heal is so good
@@LuisRodriguez-hw2kl it’s a switch skill, i believe it’s the one you get from the HR4 quest from the gathering hub Edit: looks like Gaijin showed it’s the craft 8 HH’s one, so just do both anyway lol
I spent a week building this entire set and it’s freaking beautiful. Plus my fatal tempest is lvl 3 atk boost lvl 1 crit eye. Even if you use Earthshaker instead of the bead ,you still deal 400+ dmg in one hit. It’s become my standard hunting horn layout, thanks for sharing this build!!!
what's great is that the bead of resonance also encores sound waves, so 1 sound wave with a hit turns into 3, as you get 1 from the song, 1 from the encore, and 1 from the innate soundwave of the bead itself, whenever a chord is played. Stack on partbreaker and slugger, and you're in for a good time.
I've found the bead to be kind of awkward to use though. If a minster moves around a lot you won't have much chance to hit them with its echo. Plus it means getting rid of earthshaker, which is my favorite horn move.
It's a neat bonus, but the *real* benefit of Bead is that it automatically plays Attack Up whenever you do any performance, allowing _all_ Hunting Horns to gain Attack Up. Because of how meta Attack Up is this effectively means (for me who really likes Earthshaker) that Attack Up is more like "can/can't use Earthshaker". It's a really good change to Horn though, as a longtime fan it was really sad to discard so many horns because they couldn't play Attack Up XL.
So the spiritual successor of my favorite SnS build in MH:World (The team healing Wide-Range - 5, Free Meal - 3, Speed Eating - 3 build), lives on in one of my other favorite Monster Hunter weapons in Monster Hunter Rise... I'm definitely looking forward to getting to the end game to get this weapon.
Hey Gaijinhuntrr, so excited to see your new MHR content! :) I rarely comment, but just wanted to say I really appreciate you blacking out and considering spoilers. Otherwise I'd have to wait to watch your videos!
Just to add to something you mentioned. The "helper rewards" from doing a low rank quest as someone in high rank are super helpful. I got a Magnamalo plate last night as one
While you're taking notes: -go with the Echo Mode Switch Skill over Performance Mode like in the video, you'll be able to put out heals a LOT faster -you may want to use a different set than the 1 shown too. He's missing affinity, which goes a long way for boosting damage. Weakness Exploit and Critical Eye are your friends -this technically isn't the BEST song list, just 1 that's pretty good among all the choices you get. There's 1 with a song that gives you 10% attack and 20% affinity in 1 go that most players are using, and another that gives 10% attack and defense. Of all your options, these 2 and the 1 in this video are your best bets. Use whichever you prefer
@@dragonsswarm1987 it's a Switch Skill, you unlock it by reaching HR2. It changes the way you play songs from the 2 notes=instant song effect way to a recital that plays the songs of every note you have stocked.
@@dragonsswarm1987 not quite, much more streamlined. Instead of songs coming from note combos, every note is a song. If you have that note in your staff when you do a recital attack, you'll play it--no dance or encores or anything, it comes out right away. You can use this to play multiple songs at once (the same song can't stack with itself sadly) or play 1 song over and over quickly
The moment everyone got their hands on the demo and everyone saw that you dont have to do recitals anymore, all the hunting horn mains said "oh healing horns are about to be super viable". Now here we are.
"idk how you could lose a hunt" Had to check and see if this was posted on April 1st or if that was a serious opinion that a potion sized heal with bead and recovery up investment was gonna make people immortal. Either way, solid vid, definitely will try out this hh.
Nice, thank you very much! The one problem I am facing richtig now is that I really don't like those rampage missions. Especially in multiplayer with 3 other players that don't know each others. A video with some hints for rampage missions would be very cool!
The horn you get from the current last boss also has Healing L and Health Regen, basically the same except it has Stun Negate instead of Ear Plugs - I was able to craft it after one hunt, too. It's a bit less attack, but it makes a nice stepping stone.
I think the only reason he didn't cart was that he had picked up an Aurortle (the turtle endemic life), which saves you from one fatal attack. He had those little triangle markers on the health bar.
@@Nekomancer1983 moxie saving hunters from carting since (was gonna add what game the moxie effect was added in but after three google searches couldnt find it) its creation
I finished the game with HH and I noticed how powerful it was, too! I was trying to use even the weaker version with the 2 HP Recovery (S) songs. This horn just trivializes the game for me. The health regen is even useful in between rounds in rampage, so you can heal the chip damage.
That's what I've been looking for: a fun, efficient and original support build! While DPSing I'm using bow (ranged) and while supporting, the HH (melee), so it'll be perfect! Thanks a bunch man
The Magia Charm HH is also a good healer Horn... it has Recovery and Recovery plus Antidote... with Sonic Wave Barrier as bonus... it works well with Echo Mode since you only need to do an X and XA then recite... with the bead, it heals quite well...
I've been on DB, but my gf is playing HH and she'll love this. DB are great because you can make any combination of two elements or element and status. I've maxed out a few to counter build specific monsters with awkward elemental resists - like Barroth changing its weaknesses and immunities based on if it has mud or not.
I'm so happy to see thoses tips / tutorial videos back in work, thoses videos are great for the mh community :D Keep the great work comming mister Gajin Hunter !
I'm currently making the rampage bow for a couple of elements because I greatly prefer rapid shot to the other shot types, but beyond bow and hunting horn, most of them don't seem very good compared to other alternatives.
@@tatererer9747 I guess there are a bunch of Niche uses if your weapon type doesn't get the what you need in a way you want. Like, I wonder how the Charge Blade handles Impact vs Elemental and stuff. Or how the Bowguns are. But for Lance, it's definitely underwhelming.
The Switch Axe is hot garbage lol. I made it because I decided to make every SA, and it can’t do a better job at raw or any element compared to others Axes. A shame.
I beat the game a couple days ago and was optimizing some hunting horn builds. I figured I would do horn first because its so awesome in this game and move on to other weapons later. Thank you for posting this as i just did a blast attack and attack boost lvl 7 horn with Jelly and rathalos gear. I was just about to look up a great healing build and I find this, time to farm for those rampage parts!
The horn as a whole is disgustingly good in Rise. The biggest shock of the game though is making me finally play Bow and I actually love it lol Never used it in any game prior it just wasn't for me but Rise makes me feel like Legolas 🤣
@@frankreyes6784 longesword has more and even better defensive options than Lance does. But yeah compared to other games it is kinda balanced (caugh) nargacuga bow 210 raw 40% affinity (caugh)
My experience with rampage weapons is the following: unless you're going for a very specific or gimmick build, there's probably a better alternative in a specific monster. For instance, the charge blade: For a big elemental phial, the most you'll get is 21 of any damaging element, and 210 raw, but if you're going for big elemental bursts, rathian is better at 30 fire, barioth has 26 ice, the thunder tree has 37 thunder (zinogre has better sharpness but only 23 thunder), and so on. For impact phials, you can choose a status element and get 10 of that or get extra 10 raw. The highest raw you can get is 226 with -30 affinity and very poor sharpness, whereas Goss harag gives 230 with -20 affinity, similar sharpness and a little ice. The smithy tree gives you 210, 0 affinity and a rampage skill that sharpens your weapon on a block. Magnamalo gives you 200 raw with 0 affinity but 29 blast and 2 slots. At least for charge blades and "regular" weapons like great sword, lance, hammer, and so on, it isn't the best, but it's certainly easier to make
This build is so comfy and still puts out great damage, also has lots of slots to play around with. Love the white sharpness too! Good walkthrough of Rampage weapon mechanics as well
I do love the Pukei-pukei horn with a slugger/stamina-thief set. Focusing on the head and poisoning, exhausting, stunning ... all things I like for multiplayer and solo too ^^
Thanks for this non typical, but really interesting and special build. In my opinion it starts all over again and everybody uses the same weapons and armor. I am very glad u can wear something different, but still compete with the rest. Even the resonance thing is great. I really thought it ist useless but in this build it is so fun to use it. Thanks a lot.
Glad to know about this. Played through the game already and have been enjoying some Outriders and even going back and playing some Generations. But got some buds I'm playing with, so will try to gather some stuff for this set; because it looks fantastic!
When i saw the MH Rise trailer, I was almost as excited for new Gaijin Hunter content as I was for a new MH game. Lookin forward to all the weapon and gameplay guides!
"Anjanath waist is hard to make" Preaching to the choir. I'm also certain Anjanath traded his gems for something stupid, like Bullfango Pelts. Because even with 2 Gathering Palicos and making sure I get the 3 drops from ride monsters, that gem ain't ever dropping.
About time people start talking about the more unique Rampage Weapons. Would love to see one for the Rampage Dual Blades with there ability to have any 2 Elements or Ailments put on them
Thank you Gaijin, just build this horn and armor today and I love it! I only don't have the talisman you have but I have a Divine Blessing 3 and Flinch Free 1 with two level 1 slots, I'm farming now for that talisman but I really like this build too.
I upgraded this build to fit my play style a little more: -Rampage Agitato with Health Regens and Earplugs -Utsushi Mask -Kulu Yaku Mail -Sinister Gauntlets -Rathalos Coil -Almudron Graves -Hunting Petalace -Talisman with 2 Recovery Up and one 2nd level slot, one lvl 1 slot Deco: -Steadfast x 3 -Medicine x 1 -Ko x 1 -Attack x 3 Overall: -Attack boost lvl 5 -Razor Sharp lvl3 -Sluger lvl3 -Recovery Up lvl3 -Stun Res lvl3 -Handicraft lvl2 -Horn Mayestro -Spare Shot (not relevant) -Windproof,Widerange,Wirebug whisp,Hellfire cloak all lvl1 So I wanted this Recovery from the build as it is super cool not need to rely on potions. What I was missing was slugger to KO monsters. Also I wanted razor sharp and Handicraft which I used in other build and found it super good not need to sharp in mid fight and only between chasing monsters while mounted. At the same time you keep very decent Dos with Attack Boost lvl 5. This make it perfect build to play solo and multiplayer. Enjoy! And thanks for the tip with using Rampage Horn.
Bead of resonance with a sonic wave horn that has high raw is also amazing DPS. Just doing some testing, if you use echo mode, bead, and sonic wave and alternate between your one note sonic wave and the perform, that combo will out DPS the burst damage of earthshaker over the length of it's cool down, where you keep using the same combo. Echo mode, bead, and sonic wave is a legitimate damage option AND it lets you have 3 songs plus attack up instead of just the songs that come on the horn. So it also has more benefits to your party. I really hope people start trying out echo mode it can do so much.
I'm sure this is common knowledge by now, but if you just want personal healing, the Normal Type Kinsects with Bonus Heal are pretty great with a high Kinsect Lvl Insect Glaive. Took me a while to realize this due to build memory from earlier MHs, but because the stats scale with level they work just fine and healing every time your Kinsect returns to you is just great (esp. if you're cancelling a lot of Tornado Slashes w/ Kinsect launch and recall and you keep your enemy marked with a Pheremone on the head). Loving this w/ a Narga Glaive built for Mind's Eye and WexBoost.
Very good. I had to use potions on Violent Mitzume it carted me twice. It's got a few passive attacks that made it hard to apply buffs and get away. I used Primal Malzeno armor with bubbly dance and resititate. Getting attack up was harder and didn't do as much damage as I'd like. But Wirth the effort esp with followers.
7:05 I figured it out that this Hunting Horn is insane. I was wondering the same thing. I was like "we can not lose at all" I can just heal indefinitely. With maximum Wide Range I can even buff all day. Than some Greatsword user instantly carted three times against a freakin' Rathalos... Sadly you are strong but a guy with negative resistance and no defense is stronger.
Mad lad probably skipped breakfast too i bet. Reminds me of the time i was playing with friends who refused to build hr armor that wasnt "their set" because "its a waste of materials". Like, my guy, the health bar is only useful if its fatter than the monster's ass that keeps flattening yours in one sit.
Thank you so much! This horn is keeping my random teammates alive against the new elders. I kept having randoms die every time and I’d fail my hunts but now I just heal them up while attacking and they can go be spam crazy while I heal since no one wants to learn how to dodge or bring potions 😂 lol
The Horn is worth making for damage, too. With a good build, you're going to be outdoing the Narga Horn because you're getting a good near 40 more Raw, but you can still hit 100% Crit and natrual White.
I like that build a lot, once I finished my solo run through the game I was considering building something similar but I was unaware that Rampage Horn was the way to go. So far I've been going through the game with Spio HH, and full Para, KO, Stamina Thief... it's nuts. Pair it with a couple of Gather Palicos with Para and Endemic Barrage = Worst Day Ever for Monsters. :D
Now I know you said it's trending in Japan and talk of the West but I still feel proud for writing a guide about this strat (with the thunderbolt horn) 2 days ago before this aired, and getting people informed about it without knowing myself that this is an already discovered strat (wanted to make a video about it but now that yours is out I think it won't be necessary ^^') Always looking forward to more crazy builds :D
I feel that, I've created a damage formula for cb element phials and calculated raw and element hitzones for the training dummy but I have no clue if people online have posted that info already.
@@stormetro6046 I mean always go for it, information regarding MH Rise is kinda sparce right now so every extra bit can bring people forward :D Maybe with your calculations someone else gets an idea for a new build which will improve all our hunts, so if you have fun doing that go for it. And even if someone else already posted something in that regards, maybe they didn't see something you found or they have another audience than you, so you can reach more people with that information
this is great for beginner and newer players, but i honestly line agressiveness more.+20% attack and +20% affinity is just so good if you and your friends are able to evade and rarely ever take damage. I use a raw plunge build with a shockwavey playstyle, max attack, slugger, wirebug whisperer 3, stam thief 3 plungeneer 3. It works great with the rampage horn with green sharpness mod, but also with diablos (With bead + brutal strike) anja aswell as tigrex and the pig one (sorry can't translate it.)

I always loved the hunting horn but god damn I had trouble playing it correctly. With Rise though, it's a beast. Gameplay is insane and I can't stop playing with a hunting horn.
As someone who enjoys more support-esque builds, I'm finding it hard to make builds around the support aspect at the moment. Again, like you said, maybe the expension will make the rampage weapons better. However, healing on hunting horn is more of the icing on the cake, rather than the cake itself. Getting recovery ups that are only beneficial to yourself seems like a high cost in my opinion. The other part is how easy this game made it for others to heal themselves. Get knocked back? Wirebug to safety and immediately pop a potion since using wirebug recovery also sheathes your weapon for you. Even as a person who had fun with support and shield, using a blue mushroom with wide range was the closest to being the "Fastest heal" before letting anyone else heal themselves, while also providing many buffs... but with all the changes to decos, the requirements for these builds end up costing too much, especially with removing your big switch damaging ability. Don't get me wrong, it's still a super fun build. But if folks are wanting to feel like they're making an impact with their healing, they'll notice that either the boss will end up moving from your bead(meaning players will too) or that other hunters will end up filling their health bar pretty quickly on their own because wirebug recovery.
What are you talkin about all hunting horns are Insane in their very own way! This is the generation of hunting horns and we all play proud and loudly!!😁😆🤘🏾🎺🎸🎷
The bead seems REALLY good for rampages, especially Apex phases. You could drop a bead in front of the gate while you man weapons or shovel at the kiln, and when your team needs heals you play the health songs without moving from your spot, then top it off with performance for that free team attack up!
Honestly, even health regen S is busted until you can get to endgame. I used the Magia Charm and the dragon Bnahabra horns for all the hard quests, just spam heals in their face whenever you can and it makes the hunts so much easier.
I think the only thing I don't like about these rampage weapons is having to do rampages. They're just not as fun as regular hunts. I can see the appeal, and they're nice as a side-distraction, but not as a core part of the game. I play monster hunter to hunt monsters, not to play an underwhelming combination of shooter and tower defense.
That said, I'd love if you could do some sort of guide on doing rampages in the most painless way possible! Maybe there's just something I'm not getting.
It wasn't missed that that combo knocked off your Moxie buff. Haha. Great HH setup, been using horns as my main this time and glad to see a good end game support weapon, wondered how much the customization helped with the Rampage weapons across the board.
Imagine fighting a final boss that constantly regenerating like wolverine, at the same time putting pressure. Oh wait, it’s just Gaijin with his hunting horn
Rampage weapons seem pretty neat. DB and HH definitely got an advantage lol I wish I could make it look like another weapon though; World flashbacks of generic weapons everywhere. . .
Hard to say if I love hh or hammer more; both are great. I'm trying to get good with the lance too but I can't get it to really compare yet. Great video
Oh wow, I didn’t know you could customize the melody list on these. The heal melody looks great for multiplayer, but Attack Up + Sonic Waves is my jam for solo.
And I thought I was cool with the nargacuga hunting horn lol. I’ve also been thinking about switch skill set ups like this. While I wish the cocoon stacked buffs, the extra healing you get from it is invaluable. The earplugs are just the cherry on top. P.S. I did not know that the rampage weapons had so many ramp-up slots and bonuses. These’ll definitely be another endgame goal for me.
I've been running one fairly similar that uses a very spoiler-ific horn that I won't mention the name of.
