CantaPerMe I'm so glad this video is a thing. after watching it, I realized that in order to play SA well, u need to know how NOT to stay in sword mode for too long but also know what combos bring u back to axe mode to keep up the dps. this will take a lot of practice and trial and error but now I'm excited to learn a new weapon XD PS ik how to use SA, just not on a pro level :/

Switch axe sensei quick question. This weapon doesn't have a shield obviously like sns, cb, gl, and l it's not like the great sword with the tackle, finally it's not like the long sword with the foreside slash to dodge it. How do you dodge at the right time with an switch axe when the monster is about to attack you and knowing when to end the combo? Also how do you balance out sword mode and axe mode to keep it balance to prevent from reloading???? Hope you have time to answer my questions this weapon is really fun to use but when you use it the correct way it's going to be even more fun. I hope I could ask from a great long timer like you. Thanks!

iori1391 How do you counter/evade his One-Shot move? Not everyone can stunlock him to Death with damage and kill him in 2 minutes. I get through him flawlessly with SA, then he uses that shit and the Little rocks that come from the ground insta-kill me.

correction: evasion mantle(my bad) get earplugs and you'll have smoother run. roars break down a lot of your potential damage and defense.

Yeah, axe mode has increased evade distance compared to sword mode, making it great way to be mobile while staying in the offense. Also, swapping into axe mode refills your gauge a bit more so constantly switching modes is a good way to manage the gauge.

BetaNights you need to have your blade charged (when it becomes red and start to make little explosions each time you attack) then you can go into elementary discharge and it will stick to the monster. (To charge your sword you need to attack with kt)

When your SA is fully charged, you can pull of those moves by using the elemental discharge onto a monster
