The paint job came together really nice dude! My opinion.. Keep the hatch the new metallic red you laid down. I love metallic paint jobs! Reminds me of cool ass 70s-80s jet boats and bass boats. Looking really good! After the clear coat.. I'd hit it with 3k wet paper.. Then with a Mcguires one step compound. Shell shine!!!
Man oh man I had the same problem, turned out to be the spray paint, something about the propellant. Had the cap switcheroo happen to me too 🤬. Krylon-fusion for me. Like I told Big B, I swear when ever I give a boat a decent paint job it goes faster 🤣😂😆. 👍
From 🤦♂️ to 😎👍🏼 looks awesome, I think with just the nose blue canards red would make it look complete but the white stars and even stripe will change everything in terms of looks. Maybe do the stars first then if it needs something you can do the nose blue. Hey bro on your rigger do you seal the tube to the strut and the glue the brass bushing in the strut to keep it from spinning? Thanks man, that boat is looking beautiful!
Buddy , I am so sorry for that red paint job . I really feel for you . Regarding the motor and servo patches . Whatever you used to bind them to the boat may have had a chemical reaction to the hull plastic , which caused the impact to the paint job . I know that when I use super glue , it releases vapors that mess up the surrounding hull , inches away from where the glue was applied . It would have been a bonus if you could have showed your spray painting style , like you showed your sanding style . Never mind , may be next time you can share . Thanks
Paint the nose pearl white. You’ll have red white blue. I love painting too. It’s all in the prep work. Nice work Then get a ‘ sign writer who can paint cursive to paint / write in cursive of course H20Mechanic2RC on both sides of the cowl. Then clear coat. I can visualise a hot looking boat.
Paint the nose blue but don't spray the blue over the red. It won't match the scoop. I love painting I used kustom cans last time and it was amazing paint. It's automotive paint in a can. Dries fast and beautiful. I emailed you a picture a few months ago of my candy apple red pursuit, I'm very pleased with how it came out.
I used the same duplex but used a blue pearl wasn't good not to mention the tip which is a 360 tip fell out and was dripping as well. Also you talk about the dark red spot where the motor mount is well I primered my boat painted it all white and then applied my color and still had dark splotches. The difference I built a wood boat you have a fiberglass boat and it's doing the same thing creating those splotches it just may be the paint I tried a different paint color it's better but there still is splotches I'm about to give up I should have just left it all white thinking about leaving my cowling all white
paint the nose /cockpit blue although i dont believe the color will match the cowl, probably be a slightly darker blue. since you started with a darker base color.
It's always going to feel unfinished if you don't finish the blue now. You have other boats to run while you wait for it, and your followers are patient.
The paint you’re using is crap…. I’ve had issues with that paint. Even pealing away when tape is applied. I would highly recommend to strip that paint and Go to auto paint supply store and get auto paint In a spray can and 2k clear in a can.
I questioned that at the store, ill see today if the paint peels off the cowl when I start to blue the nose. Fingers crossed. (I wish the original automotive paint looked good) but it was like Matte pink
@@h2omechanic see what happens and go from there. My experience I’ve had nothing but poor results from that paint. Just trying to save you the headache I went through stripping a boat down and repainting the boat. Automotive urethane is all what I use now with a basic harbor freight spray gun set up.
