Hi, Please help! Can I connect the Mi Box S > HMDI to projector (4K 60Hz, HDMI 2.0 HDCP2.2) for 4k video > Optical 5.1 audio to an older AVR ( HDMI 1.3 , not HDCP 2.2)? Will I get 5.1 audio from the older AVR? Thanks

i've had problems with this freezing lately...turns out it was the livetv app causing it.disabled that and fixed the whole thing.i dont use the livetv app anyway..pretty solid androidtv box

Does it log onto windows networks so I can watch my own library. Having trouble with many of these boxes not capable of networking very well. Cant handle SMB properly I suspect.

Yes, you can use it with bt headphones. You can't conect standart antena chanels but you can use live tv chanel streaming via IPTV over internet 😉

Yes you can. You just need to set the correct display resolution once you switch the Mi Box S to another TV.

It will automatically ask you to upgrade to 9.0 when you first setup the box. Or go to settings on the upper right corner

It would depend on your need and budget. You can get the smart tv ao that you won’t need any android tv box. If you have a regulr tv go for the Mi box s to make it smart

I just ordered this as a cheaper alternative to my Nvidia Pro for my outside tv since at the moment Nvidia Pro's are unobtainable at the regular price... it is Google certified not Miracast, I think you will need google home but not sure, it will work on your tv with an HDMI CABLE

For home theater output, there is no dolby atmos, no 7.1, no dts-MA. In 2019 model, I've no idea on the older models.

@@andrei_631 yes I'm using MI box S(MDZ-22-AB) only. It is not supporting dts-ma, 7.1 and atmos. It supports only 5.1, DD+ and dts.

I have the Mi Box S for almost 2 years I like in you left some things out you can extend a gigabyte with a 64 gigabyte flash drive and you can hear what the another remote to give you more features one thing about the third-party remote is you will have a mouse to help you navigate some apps Google assistant and volume control and one more thing you can add adapter to hook it up to your mode and if you set it up correctly mini Nvidia Shield .

The Mi Box S has a 3.5mm jack. If your amp connects to that then it will work.

@@snehalamol6607 it can output 5.1 through HDMI or the sound jack. The jack s/pdif out, except that its limited to Dolby Digital and the comparable DTS counterpart.
