Utah double homicide suspect Mia Bailey appeared in court for the first time Wednesday morning, as a Washington County judge read off her charges and appointed her a defense attorney.
Bailey, 28, is accused of killing both her parents last week before opening fire on her brother and his wife, who were not harmed. She is facing two counts of aggravated murder; one count each of attempted aggravated murder and aggravated burglary; and seven counts of felony discharge of a firearm.

Most states will check for assets and take them to cover costs. They will appoint a lawyer while searching for assets

I just hope Mia has a good defense. Not being accepted by family isnt a defense. What she did and why doesnt matter. She was going to kill her brother too but wasnt able to. Lock it up for 2 lives taken.

I feel so bad for the family most of all. Who knows what abject horror they were put through leading up to and during the crime. This individual had a restraining order, yet the family didn’t stand a chance . The brother and his wife were extremely fortunate to escape the attack, but they will have to live with the fallout.

Let me guess. parents told him to grow up, get a job and stop playing dress up. He screamed about how oppressed he is, threw a hissy fit, and shot them. Now he gets to wear a blue dress and pretty silver bracelets and taxpayers get to fund his lawyer fees, food, and board.
