Miami Dice: Space Base 

Hey guys! I would love to see a top ten about games with zero downtime or off turn actions.

I like watching board game reviews because I don't have any friends to actually play them with.

Finally getting to play this game!

This video showed up in my notifications 20 min's after the game showed up on my doorstep. Great light game

Does look like a great version of this type of game. And the Catan wcample was spot on. Waiting to see if you got resources was the highlight of that game. Haven't played Machi Koro, but this seems really slick.

I absolutely cannot stand Machi Koro......and I started out really enjoying it.... so sad that I now don't like it. Now I'm excited to play this! Thanks for the review!

This was an instant buy after playing at a FLGS, but man, the rules for the special cards are not good... Plan on checking out the BGG FAQ.

I have no idea how people don’t like Machi Koro. I have the “Bright Lights Big City” edition or whatever it’s called. I love the progression of it, going from one die and small income to two dice and exponentially more (if you’ve built your engine right) and that race to 30 coins to pretty much guarantee victory. It goes pretty quick for us. This game sounds fun, but I think I’ll pass in lieu of games that will fill other niches for us.

It has 2 expansions now the first adds a handful of new mechanics the second basically just let’s you play with 7 players and gives you sleeves for all the cards. Highly recommend the first one the second I was a little more on the fence on but I do love sleeving my cards to make them last

What is the deal with the table footprint? Is it too big?

Think I'll wait for a better looking version. With so many games coming out I get to be picky :)

With my group, it would be at least 90 minutes, with people AP’ing over which cards to buy.

I like all 3 just fine...I do wish that Zee would find a less mechanical alternative to the TARGET system...a minor gripe.

I played it twice in January and felt the strategy is in going for 1-6 cards

I won this game just by getting 2 points every turn and boosting about how close I was to winning.

games should end when youre still having fun

How does this compare to Valeria the Card Kingdom? I thought you would compare it more to this than to Machi Koro.

This is at least the third video that I've seen that says the "First" to 40 wins. Not correct. The first to forty triggers end game, but does not necessarily win. If it was simply a race to forty the first player card would serve no purpose. I think because the rule book is written so poorly that people are skimming to get the gist but not reading carefully.

Do you guys think this game has much longevity? Since its all based on rolls, which I'm not bashing, wouldn't the game feel pretty similar most of the time? Buy cool cards, hope you can activate them.

This is a good game... But a bit too simple for Miami Dice! Pls give us the good ones!

Sam is talking about the game while all the action happens in a 3 x 3 inch portion of a huge table. On my phone this translates to 4 pixels on my phone. Next time, just zoom in with the camera. I didn't get anything out of the rules explanation.

Just played this and my local game meetup last week and I can confirm this is a Machi Koro killer. I have MK and the expansion and I prefer Space Base.

Why are most space games unforgivably ugly? There are a few pretty ones, but take Terraforming mars for example, I know it to be a good game, I want to play it again, but I don't think I can handle looking at it for ~2 hours.

There's no real long term depth to this game. It's just an alternative Machi Koro while looking visually worse. I can see having fun once or twice, but then to the sale pile it would go.

The art work is soooo boring on this game. And the theme is completely tacked on. They also should have changed the number on white in the upper right of the cards to an icon that really looks like a die or dice 'cuz every playthrough I've watched has people misreading where some cards go.

I have to admit. the look of the game turns me off. moreso the cards than the box. the graphic design and the rainbow gradients are a mess on the table.

Great game but with one of the worst rules books of the year... They took 20 pages to explain a game that could have been explained in 4 pages... Not to mention the english mistakes...

Machi Koro went over like a lead balloon with us. It's gotta be more than just a "Machi Koro killer" to be of interest in my group. And the artwork is as Zee says, "generic." Looks like bad 1980s generic space art, completely forgettable.

It's just too ugly and not unique enough for me to have it replace Machi Koro.

I love miniature games. I can embrace cards when they invite actions. I love space but this game does no seem right in my slley.

It's always hard when the reviews are good but the game is so ugly. Man it's like an eyesore on the table.

I much prefer single reviewers giving a game overview and review of new games - too much silly chat when all three are together. I love the top 10s and other set-tos with all three - but for new game overviews I think it should be done solo most of the time!
