Hey tom! I am recently diagnosed with type 1 D, was searching on youtube to get good content regarding D1 diet exercise, found your channel, thanks tom..waiting for giveaway
Been an insulin dependent diabetic for 18 years. Went straight to insulin from day one. Finally got issued a CGM. Dexcom G6. Made a huge difference in everyday life. Thanks for the great videos. New subscriber.
Hi buddy, Thx for all your videos. Great work. Compliments!!!! Please let me know if is in the box of MioMio 3 also pack of adhesive stickers for this device included? Looking forward to hear from you. Best regards, Zoran
Hey bro I am a subscriber of yours. I live in India. I purchased a Miao miao 3 worth 24k rupees that is alot for me. My father is not on this world. Yesterday I lost it😢 . I would be very thankful if anyone can help to get a miao miao 3 again . Thanks
I’m a newly diagnosed T1D (Jan 4th 22), and your videos have helped me navigate the world of T1D, in both good and bad ways. Sometimes the level of detail gives me the shivers and I have to stop watching, and other times I will binge for hours, filling my brain with tips and making all the math an mental load much easier to manage. You have helped me much more than you realize. Thank you, Tom!
One more thing, YOUR CHANNEL has provided more REAL help to me than any info I've been given since 1977 when i was diagnosed as type 1 at age 24. At that time i was in the hospital and read multiple textbooks and research thru the US Navy medical staff. I thank God the knowledge and now tech has come as far as it has. Wow!! You are a real blessing to me Tom and I'm positive many others feel the same way.
Thank you for your ongoing help to the diabetic community! I've only recently gotten my diabetes under control, and now my recently diagnosed 17y/o son and I will be working on it together. I found your videos by chance while researching Libre last year, and they helped me in deciding to try out this technology. Your "tips" videos on ways to control sugars with food, post meal exercise (and sodas!) have been a help and encouragement. over the last year. Between lifestyle changes and Libre use, my A1c has gone from 10+mmol/l, to 5.4. I find your presentations, positivity, and enthusiasm very encouraging. We dont get Libre funded after 16 y/o here, so I'm going back to fingersticks, and putting my son on the Libre full-time, while he learns to cope with insulin, carbs, and activity.
Hi Tom, I’ve been type II diabetic for the past 4 years, after I scored a spectacularly high blood sugar level one day. I’d had several medical problems that all contributed to my pancreas “giving up”. The ambulance attendants said my blood sugar was so high, it maxed out their monitors. I was put on a high dose of insulin immediately, but 6 months later, my forced dietary changes enabled me to wean off the insulin completely, with blood sugar levels returning to normal. After 3 years my blood sugar is rising and getting harder to manage. I have learnt a lot from you, Tom, and I appreciate your open, honest and informative videos. After seeing your video about Libre sensors, I decided to subscribe to get the Libre 2 sensor. I don’t get any government subsidies to help with the cost, which is about 10% of my pension. But it will be worth it if I can get my blood sugar back under control. I think the Miao Miao device would help me greatly, especially as each libre 2 sensor seems to be calibrated differently. My current sensor reported around 5 (yes FIVE) points higher than the previous one. The two measurements were only an hour apart, so the problem was obvious. I currently recheck with a finger prick test, and manually recalibrate in my head. After watching more of your videos, I’ve started using a new finger prick monitor, one of the ones you recently recommended. It seems to work much more reliably. Anyway, that was a long story. Just glad there are people like you out there, sharing your experience and expertise.’ Thank you Tom.
Love your videos! When I was first diagnosed I didn’t know what to do. My endocrinologist said” go watch these videos.” So here I am I watched all of them and learn so much. I look forward to the next one each time I get online. Thank you you have helped me get thru, well not through but more confident in myself and my type one diagnosis. Lastly I must say how much I love your accent. Enjoy your day the weather looks beautiful there. 😊julie
Thank you so much for your kind worse Julie! They mean a lot. I should also thank your doctor for recommending my videos. Please send my thanks to him next time you see him :-) wishing you all the best on your diabetes journey! Have a great day
I have updated my diabetes' management several times over my 10year as type 1 diabetic. Now Libre 2 + Omnipod pump user for a couple of years, all my decisions where based on my doctor's advices until I found your channel. I find your videos very useful and it is partly thanks to you that I manage my diabetes a little better every year.
I watch your channel to help navigate my diabetes journey and also my freestyle Libre journey, I wasn't sure how to apply the sensor and I was nervous, then I found your video, and it helped me out so much, from that day on, I've been subscribed and watch to get lots of information, thank you for making these videos
When I finally got a good doctor, he got me the Libre 2 and I was terrified I would put it on wrong or do something stupid. Your channel was the first one to come up when I searched for help. I have been watching you ever since. I would love to try this sensor. Since my numbers got so much better, I seem to be forgetting to test myself often enough. I have tried setting alarms, but I have so many alarms going off for work I apparently have been missing them. Having something to make sure I get all the readings would be really nice! Thanks again for being so through with every diabetic product that you try. You have really helped me make alot of decisions with my diabetes!
I like watching cause of the ideas you give me on watching my blood sugar. The greatest idea was where to out the sensor. I put it on my thigh all the time now. After so many times that I nearly lost it while attached to my arm. Now on my leg ,my thigh it hasn't come off, makes it easier to check and compared to finger stick it's very accurate. I appreciate all the ideas, items that you tried , review , all have been helpful. Need to look at this new MiaoMiao3, i use the libre since only one insurance will pay for.
Thanks for your videos! I've been watching since being diagnosed with Type 1 in November! And they are definitely part of the reason I've been able to manage my new condition so well! Thank you Tom!
I watch your channel along with Diabetes strong because you guys give the most up to date info and reviews on diabetes management, you guys are the best!
I couldn't get so much logical advice from anyone else. You are a complete inspiration to me. Since I was diagnosed from such a young age and seeing your RU-vid videos, you constantly boost my confidence and knowledge about diabetes for now and for whatever lies ahead in the future.
Diabetes T1 diagnosed less than 6 months ago, finding overwhelming the ups and down. I have libre 2 but as I am based in the UK, I don’t expect libre 3 will be here very soon. You are helping me to understand this horrible disease and how to cope with my new forever condition. Thank you!
When I was looking for possible other options for a more affordable CGM, I came across your channel and your reviews about the Libre 2. I'm in the US and the Dexcom became so unaffordable for me here with my insurance coverage of it. Seeing your recommendations and reviews got me on track to trying out the Libre 2. That was July of last year shortly after it became available here. I couldn't have been put on a better path. My A1C is amazing now and my health is in such a better place and I give you a lot of that credit. Your explanations and reviews are so helpful. You really are a great asset for the Type 1 Diabetic community. I've been a Type 1 since 1988 and finding support through your channel has made me feel a lot better about my health.
Hey Tom! I watch your channel because I'm also T1D and want to get in better shape + attain better control. Your diet and cooking videos have been especially helpful, and your Freestyle 2 videos convinced me to start using it just a few weeks ago. It's been a bit of an adjustment, but I've had many fewer high BGs since I started it.
Awesome review as always ☺️ I watch your videos for tips on how to use tech better for better control over glucose levels. Knew nothing of miaiao and libre before seeing your sensor, so searching around last year I found where they sell libre, and also a very good endo and nurse who now helps me. Managed to get hba1c down by about 6 in 1 year, and it all started with your vids mentioning and explaining the tech. Thanks a mil and I hope you keep making videos and spreading knowledge and making life easier for diabetics
thanks for the review , thorough review with pros and cons as usual. I visited this site a year ago looking for excercise tips with Type 1 diabetes and here I am now with a libre , miaomiao , a frequent runner and following my glucose in my garmin :) thanks man and keep up the great content !
Giveaway Reason! I was diagnosed with diabetes after having septicaemia I was in a coma for over six months during that time I even lost my husband to cancer, I found your channel when I was given the Freestyle Libre after months of pricking and losing my fingerprints, your channel has educated me so well about diabetes in an informative and entertaining way, answering every question I had about the condition and the product ! Even if I don’t win, I’m going to keep watching but never ever won anything in my life! Keep up the amazing work! Fingers crossed 🙏💚🤞
doesn't matter if there is a giveaway or not, you deserve to be thanked with every chance people get. so thank you again, please keep it up and keep updating us on how things are going for you and how tech is evolving. that's actually the main reason i watch your channel, the info i'm getting from you is just great regarding new tech and what's out there in the world and reachable to some. and hopefully reachable to the rest of us also in the upcoming years. so yeah, the hope you put out on this channel in this diabetes battle is an enough reason to subscribe. really appreciate your work and time you put into this, please keep doing it, it's great! 👍🤠
Great video as always! Managing my Diabetes hasn't always been easy but watching your videos has really made me want to try and do better. A few months ago, I decided to finally try out Libre and recently purchased Miao Miao 1, after watching your reviews for them. If I win miao miao 3, I'm going to give it to my mother who's also a diabetic for 50+ years and could really use the alarms feature. Even if I don't, though, I want to thank you so much for creating this channel! Keep up the great work!
In your video says a link into the instructions in description but it is not there?. I too found the QRC didn't work - all I can find a manual for is the 2. I am pretty disappointed with the battery life of the MM3. Fully charge mine the first time for 24 hours, green light and battery had to be recharged in 5 days! So hard to charge this thing on your arm. The charger falls off easily. Wish I had tried the 1 instead.
I agree with this comment. I went from mm2 to mm3 and had to recharge after 48hrs. Seems like they are using cheaper batteries. Seeing that this video person is promoting miammiao I suggest you revisit their products!
Love your videos. Maximum info in a clear and concise manner. Being in India, learnt more from you in 2 months than I have in the last 20 years. Thanks for making my life better. ❤
You are so kind my friend! Thank you for those words! Wishing you all the best and greetings to India! By the way I visited ones for three weeks and it’s a beautiful country. I wish to come back soon!
I watch your channel cos you are great and I am allways trying to get information in order to help my daughter in hers glucose management I hope some day free3 will be available in Argentina.
Hello there :) I have been watching your channel because my boyfriend (together for almost 5 years) suffers from T1 diabetes. When we met, he absolutely didn't want a sensor on his arm, he suffered a lot of bullying at school due to diabetes and was still traumatized; but thanks to your videos I convinced him to evaluate freestyle libre together with his diabetologist and he’s loving it! I would like for our anniversary in April to be able to give him a miaomiao, lately he often had high glucose and in my opinion it would help him a lot in managing the disease ^-^
Thank you so much for sharing your and your boyfriends story Leonardo! When is your anniversary? I hope we can still make it because you are the winner!:) Please message me your email address and I will send you the instructions. Best, Tom
Great review. My 16 year old is newly diagnosed and uses a Libre (original version as 2,3 not available here in New Zealand) with a miao miao 3. Love your honest detailed & factual reviews and advice.
I always like to watch your videos because it is helping me to menage my daughter bg. Thank you for your contribution to disbetic comunity. Regards from Bosnia and Herzegovina
We are using Miao Miao 3 for a couple of months and it is very usefull. Now we are searching for a smart watch with 4g that connects with it. Thanks for the video.
I absolutely love your channel. I've learned a lot of things my doctor has been no help with. I only have a primary care physician, no endo. I don't drive do to visual impairment, and no endo in town. I've learned almost everything on my own since my diagnosis in December 2020 at 51 years old. You and a few other diabetic channels have helped so much. I'd like to try this, but don't want to risk it not working. I got the MM1 and it does not work with US libre2. Waste of $100.
Thanks for the Review! I subscribed to your channel because I like how you are upfront and you cover almost any question someone would have about the product. Such as accessories, battery life, comparison to older versions, size, software, design, price etc etc. Pretty thorough and useful. Also I watched your channel for some reviews because your videos the product or the info I wanted and no one else did.
Thank you so much for your kind feedback my friend! Your kind words mean a lot. Wishing you a nice day and all the best for the future on your diabetes journey!
Hello I have a question. 😊 Could you please help? Can applying some pressure on MM3 to adjust it break the sensor? Because my sensor showed it was working. Later when I applied MM3 on top of it, the sensor stopped working saying "replace sensor". Also my arms don't have much muscles/fat, so is it possible for the sensor to break?
Tom -- you had this Canadian hooked as soon as you shared that you've also gone through 'having your sensor get caught on a doorframe'. Your info on new sensors not approved in this particular country yet, keeps me very interested!
I've had Diabetes for over 25 years and only recently again tried to take control of it, I look at it for the content and also the knowledge of another diabetic, it has only been really I got freestyle libre one that I feel like I've gained more control of my diabetes and although self funded I would like to gain more control by having the miao miao sensor. Regardless, thank you for the content and given diabetics more knowledge of information and technology out there to make this disease easier and more manageable.
I have been watching your channel for a while and have found things very informative. I was diagnosed as Type 2 back in Summer 2020 and have been trying to get myself under control, had to switch to insulin this past summer as some of the meds they had me on was too hard on my digestive system. Been using the Freestyle Libre 2 since this past summer after watching your videos as well and like it, but had a trial of a Dexcom G6 to check out for a short time (unfortunately my health benefits don't cover it) and so miss the not having to constantly scan like with the Freestyle Libre 2, so wanting to get something like the MiaoMiao so I can not have to scan as much especially when working in pharmacy. Been getting my husband also to watch the videos to better help with his cooking to help me out too.
Hi Tom, I'm 25 year old arborist and was diagnosed with type one 6 months ago with an A1C of 120 mmol 13%. I felt very discouraged at first due to hypos at work and seriously considered quitting my passion for a more sedentary job in IT. However due to the encouragement and practical advice in your videos I haven't quit. Instead I have become more determined to continue walking down this path. I have largely reduced hypos occuring and have brought my sugars down to 50mmol 6.7% and have regained alot of lost weight and feel heaps better - hoping to bring that a1c even lower :) A large part of this improvement I attribute to the fact that I have been learning from your videos since my diagnoses. When times i have felt overwhelmed and confused you have provided positive, honest, calm, well clarified, well balanced, well tested, well researched information and guidance. You invest a lot in each video with great editing/informative showcases, comprehensive comparisons and well presented tried and tested tips and tricks/hacks. But your videos also go beyond diabeties technology; I appreciate your lifestyle and wellbeing videos such as how to manage diabeties at work and recipes just as much. So yeah, thanks Tom for everything and for continuing to help me and others navigate our diabeties journey!
im 29 and just got diagnosed. A1c of 11. keep your head up my friend. my dad has had type 1 for 30 years. he still kicking and doing well. just take care of yourself.
My friend, I can’t thank you enough for your kind words. It means the world to me! I am so proud of you continuing with your passion and learning the ropes. You just made my day! Thank you again and sincerely wishing you all the best for the future!
great video man! I would love to win this bad boy since here in Cyprus we have nothing like sensors, cgms etc and we are buying them from abroad (of course we pay eevey single penny). you have a very direct and analytical way to showcase all these products! love your channel and work you are doing for us. Thanks!
This is a great channel. Maybe I missed it somewhere but will This transmit to a smart watch wia Bluetooth without the phone near? Sometimes I like to jog without my phone bouncing around in my pocket but would love to see on a watch.
Hi Tom, I just saw your video and thank you very much for the information you share. I was using Miao Miao 2 with the Tomato app on the iphone. I bought now Miao Miao 3 and I have difficulties with binding it with the tomato app. Do you know are they compatible or I have to use some other app?
Many thanks for your thoughts / review on MM3. You mention Tomato App is available for download from Apple Store but the App is missing from the Apple App Store for a couple of weeks now. Its not clear if this is for maintenance or if the company are withdrawing from the market. Time will tell. I have been using MM3 for a few weeks now but have placed an order for MM1 as I have found the bottom corners cut into the skin and cause painful sores that take a while to heal fully. Hope my comments are of help. Please keep your videos coming. You are my trusted person for honest/trustworthy comments/ reviews of everything diabetes.
Thank you so much for the feedback! Regarding the sharp edges, I know a few more users complained about it so it is definitely a valid point! Regarding the app, I contacted the company and they promised it should be back in the AppStore soon! Hope this helps!
Tom I watch your videos always I got diabetes due to getting bladder cancer I'm cancer free now and hope to continue I use freestyle libre 14 day have kidney problems my left kidney was a 20% function since I stopped using metformin and use insulin glargine it's up to 50% your videos have saved my life due to your personal experience and advice I want to buy the miaomiao but can not afford one since I'm can not work for now per doctors thank you for your videos.
Thank you for this amazing video. I just have question about the range of the device, is it possible to know the reading if i’m far from the sensor? ( my little sister use it and i need to know the reading while she is at school)
I was using Miao miao and I am from India, I had very bad experience with this device. Now, I am switch to Blucon nightrider and it's woking fine and most important it solving my purpose.
Thanks for the vid! I've been using the m2 for 2 years now and it's great, but sometimes it catches on a shirt, I know you briefly touched on this, but have you (or anyone else here) used it long enough to have had time where this would have happened or didn't happen in a reasonable time? The tape that comes with the miamiao is just so amazingly strong that it takes the sensor with it... Or if you have advice on how to prevent the sensor from ripping out with the miaomiao I'd appreciate it :D Gr8 video again, I love your channel.
You are my “go to guy” when it comed to diabetes technology for my 5 year old kid… thanks for doing this Question about Miao Miao 3 - does it transmit to various devices the readings? So when the kid id at school it can send readings to teachers phone, when in home to me and my wifes phone. Other question: if read by one device ( ex teachers phone) does app ( maybe if use same user in different devices) can I see teachers phone readings form my app when in work? Thank you for the review and answer to this questions
Thank you so much Victor! With MM3, if you are using the Timato app, you need a primary device that the data is always send to first. As long as this primary device is connected to internet it can share data with other devices (you just need a premium version of tomato which costs a couple bucks a month, or you could also consider another app - such as xDrip+, etc.) hope this helps! Good luck to your family and stay safe!
Hi Tom, thnx again for your nice and clear explanation of this 3rd generation Miao Miao. I would like to be considerd for a copy and the reason is that i have to scan a lot a day with my now Libre 2 sensor. Acording to the Hospital it is very unlikely that a rolout of the Libre3 wil come this year. I try to keep my sugar level as good as possible every day, but sometimes in the hustle and bustle of the day i forget to scan and the Libre2 alarm does not always work well and i miss that my sugar is already above the desired value. In addition, i would like to read the value on my smartwatch. I have 1 year now TD1 (lada) and will become this week 56 years old. I have enjoyed your beautiful video's again and have been watching all your researches and test and tips for over a year now. Thanks again. Greets John.
I love watching all the advice you give. I just had to watch your video on how to put on the Dexcom g6. I love the Dexcom but my insurance won’t pay for it and it’s very expensive for me.
Im new in diabetic field, just few days ago , its challenging to keep your eyes on your glucose going up or getting very low , its overwhelming to count the time to scan and do glucose meter test also. Hope my reason will make win this and make my life a bit easier 🤞🏻
I'm a little off topic but I couldn't find a link to email you with a question. Here's my question. My success rate is a little worse than 50% which generates too many returns to Libre. They send me a return kit when it fails but it's difficult to decipher their instruction to return the defective sensor. Could you create a video depicting the proper way to return a sensor using their return kit? Thanks. I enjoy your videos.
No worries. Happy to help! There is a link in each video description where you can join my patreon community (I respond to all messages from patrons) or even shcedule a call with me if you'd like. On your question, this process most likely varies country by country (I can not tell where you are based from your comment). Please message me or Patreon or book a call and I can look into it and do my best to help you out. Thank you for watching and take care!
I have FreeStyle Libre 3, an Android phone and an Apple Watch SE, and I am wondering if I can use any of the MiaoMiao to display on the Apple Watch SE and Android phone simultaneously. If so, which app should I use? Also, with the Libre 3 that reads glucose levels every 1 minute, is there an added delay for reading and displaying glucose levels on the phone and watch?
Hello guys, Miao miao 3 has just arrived..! I would like to purchase a smartwatch as well, in order to get my blood sugar measurements much easier all the time.. Is there something i should be aware of? Are there any compatibility issues with any brand or i could go and purchase any smartwatch i like??
The Tomato app is no longer available on Google Play store. (Not sure about apple app store as I don't use iOs.) For Android, it has to be side loaded. This seems to be common with CGM apps. I attempted to put in a link to download the side-loadable version, but my comment kept disappearing.
Great review - always the most clear and complete reviews to be found anywhere 😁. You mention that there isn't a reset button but the device resets automatically when you connect the charger - is that definitely the case because if so you wouldn't really want to be charging it while you're midway through a sensor would you?
Hi Tom, Firstly, thanks for the great videos which made our life easier. Secondly, i am watching this video to know whether MiaoMiao 3 supports transmitting over the internet. However, if i am not mistaken, you didn't mention this part. though, does it only work on bluetooth transmission? Please, i have a 7 years old son and i just discovered during this week that he has diabetes. so, i am looking for a device that could be attached to freeStlye libre 1 sensor and transmit the readings through the internet to my mobile while my son is in the school. Many Thanks❤🌹
Hi Ali, thank you very much for your comment! Primarily MM3 works via bluetooth but if the primary receiving device is connected to the internet there is an option to share the data with other users (via internet - cloud). You need to purchase a premium version of the MM app to do that (it cost a couple bucks / months). Hope this helps. All the best to you and your son!
I've been using the 3 for for around 6 weeks now. I wear a patch over the sensor/transmitter and the corners dig in and make sores. The design of the shape is very bad. I have many issues charging the device from new. I had to try many USB ports to charge from till I found something. Very odd. The batter life does last 2 weeks when new. It's connection to glimp is okay but frequently drops out. Opening the app reestablishes pretty good though. I got the 3 because version 2 completely died after a few months. They don't make 2 anymore so forced me to pay extra for 3 even though the 3 price was similar to what I paid for the 2. Would I recommend? Undecided.
Thank you so much for giving honest feedback on the Miao Miao 3 Craig. I heard the complain about sharp corner from a few more users! That’s very valuable because I didn’t have similar experience myself but I believe this might help others decide for a different option-maybe MM1. Thanks again! Take care!
I was waiting for this video, I am regularly following your video from the date I was diagnosed with type 1, I actually commented on one of your postings for a review of mm3, thank you for your review and just a doubt can we activate libre pro sensor using mm3
hai brother ; just a quick question ; does miaomiao m3 with Libre 2 ??? the master phone keeps disconnected very offently the master phone is Android S5
I purchased Miao Miao 3. first all Bluetooth was not connecting now I have a problem like this "failure:check if your Miao Miao transmitter is correctly placed." I found this totally rubbish thing. Previously I was on Dexcom g6 I did not find any problem with the transmitter.
One thing that isn't mentioned is you buy the one to use forever or change often like we have to do with our sensors. Looking their website that is very little about to say if it's just to buy one or not. I also found that #2 isn't there to buy were as the #1 is.
Hi Mark. Yes it does work with FreeStyle Libre 2 in the country where I live. But please always check in your regoin,.There might be exceptions. But in general, yes, it deos work with Libre 2 as stated on MM's website.
My 3 year old recently became type 1 diabetic, its been a total shock for me and my wife. However 5 months in and we are slowly managing it. Its tough at first but i hope future medical advances can ease up . In egypt we only have libre one and miao miao 3 not available here.
Welcome to the team and thank you for sharing my friend! I know it is hard during the first few months. Btw I believe MM ships worldwide. Hope you can source Libre 1 in Egypt. Any kind of CGM is a great tool! Wishing you all the best!
plz I need to understand one thing in free style libre 1 we used any mobile at home with the free style app, now with libre 2 only one mobile to read is right or wrong is there a way around it?
Thank you for the feedback! I contacted the company and they say it should be available during the next “several days”. Let’s see when it comes. Hopefully soon! Thank you again!
well i'am using miaomiao 1 for more than 2 years now and battery still going really well, i recharge each sensor shift, and it keep solid down to 80% in the second week... if this new miao miao has less battery power, for sure i not want this
